Over the past couple years my girlfriend has gone from "I'm not telling you what I want because I want you to choose, and I want it to be a surprise, and I want it to be romantic blah blah blah" to full on "I wish I was engaged. When are you gonna propose?"

I have been doing lots of research over the last few months. At first I was set with buying an engagement ring from James Allen, but now I am heavily leaning towards Whiteflash. I like that Whiteflash provides more images upfront, and the forum seems to like them a lot.

I'm looking for a princess cut (I've learned that ASET images are very important for this cut), around 0.9-1.1 ct range. I'd like to stay under $4000-4500 (even less would be better!). My highest priority is cut, so I've been looking through Whiteflash's ACA princess diamonds. She wants a really sparkly diamond above all else. Color: at least J. Clarity: at least SI1.

My main question is, for these ACA princess diamonds, what else should I be looking for? Should I just buy the least costly one after inputting my search parameters? What should I look for in the ASET images? Thanks for your help! :D

Here are a few I've been looking at:

The I SI1 is not eye clean. The H VS1 is a little bit small for a .9

I like the cut of the I, also I like the higher color.

Fancies will have less intense-brightness than rounds. Look for those with a majority of red, and most of the rest green. Minimize black, as that’s leakage of light out of the bottom of the diamond. A modest amount of evenly distributed blue is desirable for contrast. You can cross-check the actual-images with the computer-made ASETs on their grading reports for two looks at each.

The 0.905 is a bit different than the others because it has more pavilion facets. Not better or worse, just a slightly different flavor.
