I think I have an illness. I now have 4 cats! My newest baby is black. Her name is Furbie. We are terrible at naming our pets. We have Pete, Kitty, Baby Kitty and Furbie. She sleeps a lot and likes to sleep up inside the recliner in the little hammock that is in there. You cant pluck her out. You have to wait until she is ready. I have managed to take a few pictures so I will post those once they are downloaded.

Congratulations! I don't think four makes you a hoarder. At least I hope not, because we have three. (and have had as many as six)
The hammock under the recliner is a popular kitty spot.

Here are the pictures. Even with the flash on it is hard to see her little black face

awwwww

Congrats rq!! She's precious

She's so cute RQ!

AWWW! she is so beautiful! her blue eyes are striking  Congratulations on your newest addition.
I'm not too great with naming my own pets either. I have 2 dogs -- one is Scout/Pig-E/Piglet ... or any other variation of "Pig" and the other one is Snoog/Pumpkin/Monkey/Punky/Muffin. Pig-E is a riot- she's super energetic and a total spaz who snorts and Snoogie is a sweet, calm golden.

Thanks guys. Her face looks like a little bear, but that isnt a girls name. We joked about naming her New Baby Kitty, but that is just taking it too far.

She has a few gray hairs. I have an urge to pluck them with tweezers because they stick out so much against her black fur, but of course I cannot put her through that. I dont even like taking them to the vet. I think they will remember that I am the one that took them.

I doubt that her blue eyes will stay. I hoped that Baby Kittys would and I am sure that by now they will, but I have never seen a black cat with blue eyes. Black cat eyes are very pretty too though.

DH and I agree that 4 is our max. Our house is so small that it seems like every where you look there is a cat. We are officially out numbered.

Adorable! Enjoy your new kitty!

she is absolutely gorgeous and so loveable! congrats on adding her to your home. we have 5 and had as many as 9 before health issues too 4 from us.

is she perhaps part siamese? those blue eyes....sigh.

Well Baby Kitty is her sister from a different litter and she looks very Siamese. Who knows. I guess I will have to wait and find out. When the momma kitty gets pregnant we never know what is going to come out. Baby Kitty (the Siamese looking one) came from two all black parents and so did Furbie obviously.I am going to attach a picture of each of them both at around the same age and then one of Baby Kitty recently. Baby Kitty kept all of her features so I guess there is a chance that Furbie will keep her blue eyes.

It is hard to tell in the pictures, but Baby Kittys eyes are still blue.

We had five cats for a short time. It was more chaotic than having a toddler and a newborn!

i love her eyes! she is so cute, i wanna cuddle.

Awww she's sweet! I looooove kitties!

Have you ever had a black cat before? If not, get ready!

We've had 2 now and I have to say they are different than other domestic short haired cats. I have no idea why, but they are more communicative, seem smarter and are more "into" you. I really think they have very unusual personalities, and I often wonder if that's why they've had such a bad reputation throughout history. I think it's because they really do understand you. I speak to ours like he's a person and he will follow very complex commands.

He's trained me to give him catnip! One time he was scratching his post (instead of the furniture!) and I praised him and gave him catnip. Now he makes me follow him to his post, scratches it and jumps on his climbing tree (where I gave him the catnip) and waits for more catnip. This is after it happened once.

We've had about 4 other cats over the years, and there's nothing quite like a black one.

And yours is such a sweetie with the little blue eyes! You are going to enjoy him! :appl:

Omg, CUTE!!! And I love those names actually - I giggled when I ready Kitty and Baby Kitty :)

Your new addition is adorable - what a sweet, tiny baby! The photo showing two of your other cats is very cute too! I have four cats too. They are a lot of work, but so worth it!

OMG absolutely ADORABLE. And what beautiful blue eyes!!

I had 4 cats at one point: 3 persians and an orange and white tabby. My older persian and orange tabby passed away about 1.5 years ago :blackeye: It was fun, however my 2 older ones did not get along too well with my 2 younger cats.

Kittens are VERY addictive from my experience! Enjoy your new fur-baby! :))

Awh! 4 cats is a great number we have 4 too! Well 5 actually, another one turned up this morning.....meeooooooow

awwwwww, she is so so adorable!!! They are all gorgeous!
Enjoy them all!!

I was also in the "anyone who has more than 2 cats is crazy" camp until we adopted a third and then I amended it to "anyone who has more than 3 cats is crazy" camp until we adopted a fourth LOL!! 4 is our maximum for sure (I hope I didn't just jinx us by saying that out loud :cheeky: ) but I totally understand even having more than 4 now (for other people not for us). There is nothing better than watching them all play together and how loving they all are. There are never any dull moments with the 4 of them running around, that is for sure.

Love all the photos of your beautiful new kitty.
Please post more!!

Sooooo cute.

The comments above about black cats describe my Bodee to a TEE

She is adorable!! I love her little face.

I am impressed your four all get along--I have two and they fight all the time.

wow! Beautiful kitty! I love her blue eyes! They are so unique!

And I think if your a good kitty lover, you can have as many as you have room for/can afford. Nothing wrong with loving cats!

I agree about black cats. Their personality traits are entirely different from other cats. They're very cool :) (I'm pretty sure mine is part puppy though as he fetches pens. He also carries them around the house and hides them. Whenever I look under the couch, there are about 10 sharpies there!)

My black cat (Bodee) has learned that if you say you stay here it means sit outside the door until I come back  . Generally I only do this if I'm getting him his dinner. He's a total love muffin, lots of purring and cooing (he sounds like a dove). But he also talks, loud and long meeeeeeeooooowwwwwwwww.

I get off at 3 today so I will take some more when I get home. I actually have taken a ton of them, but you cant tell in the picture whether its her face or butt because it is all so black. Right now she is my favorite, not that I love the others any less. She is already very talkative even thought it is just squeaks at this point. If she is playing and I pick her up she will squeak to be put back down. Before she knew where the litter box was she would squeak to tell us she had to potty. Speaking of potty, she spends a lot of time in there. I think she plays like it is a kitty sandbox. DH and I also suspect she eats poo because whenever she comes out she has litter stuck to her nose and she is gagging. I feed all my animals good food so I know that she is not missing anything in her diet. It is probably from when she was an outside cat. I am very excited that she is going to have a different personality than the others. Not that they all have the same personality. DH told me that last night while I was working she kept squeaking by his desk to be picked up and then once she was up she kept trying frantically to sit on the keyboard.

Just so you know, it is not always harmonious in the house. Pete the oldest (orange) tolerates the most. He is never really fazed by kittens. He reminds me of a grandpa. He has started fights with Kitty before. I have to yell at him and send him outside. Kitty did not welcome Baby Kitty at all. I thought she would because she is such a lover. Always wants to be sitting with you and being rubbed. It took her two weeks to stop growling whenever Baby Kitty was in the same part of the house as her. Now Baby Kitty is giving Furbie a hard time. In the begining she would sit in the hallway and growl so Furbie couldnt come out of the bathroom. I am not concerned that there will be any altercations. Just letting the noob know whos boss. Kitty however is very happy to have Furbie. I have already spotted a bath going on. Baby Kitty is coming around much quicker. They want to play together, but are still a little leary. Baby Kitty will get on her hind feet and play, but as soon as Furbie plays back she runs away. I have noticed that Baby Kitty is acting out a little bit. I joke with DH that Pete is a polygamist with all his wives. Pete is a boy(fixed) and the rest are girls.

When I went to the humane society, the volunteers all said that many cats like to sleep in their litter boxes. The last cat I had seemed to have a bit of a relationship with his, but it wore off w/in a week.

Hope your cats get along good. Some of mine have hit it off and others have fought and never gotten along. We've decided to remain a one-cat household and so that whole cattiness issue is no longer a problem! (phew!)

Beautiful--are her eyes going to stay blue?

She is gorgeous!!
