This is a beautiful and elegant ring. Such a crime to keep ya'll apart! Glad you got some close ups, b/c I found myself putting my nose too close to the computer screen to see details in the first couple of pics! Guys like the element of surprise I guess. I know mine does...it seems I am a little too much in control of everything else

Beautiful ring! I know Marquise used to be extremely stylish but now they don't seem popular at all...with that ring you could make the cut have a huge comback. I think that is definitely one of my top 2 favorite settings I have seen for a marquise. It makes it look so classic!!! Love it!

Hi again everyone! Thank you for talking me out of resetting the stone... when I first saw it on JBEG's website, Grace was selling it loose, but she relisted it a few months later with this incredible setting which she happened to find for it and which it fit so perfectly. I had been looking around for an antique marquise ever since I saw TacoriEring's great grandmother's ring (https://www.pricescope.com/community/threads/my-great-grandmothers-e-ring.149351/) and I had Ari send me this ring to try on: http://www.singlestone.com/index.php?page=collections&catID=14&pID=689&startRow=20 While the setting was beautiful, the proportions of the marquise center stone weren't to my taste (it was a little skinny for me.) When I saw JBEG's marquise back up for sale with the new setting, I had Grace send it over so I could see and I was just smitten. The first word that came to mind when I saw this ring was "enchanting." And the more I have had the chance to admire it, the more I feel that the diamond does belong in this setting. The ladies at JBEG are such a pleasure to work with, I have always communicated with Grace and she is the just embodiment of her name.

Milton, it *does* have the cutest little culet- it is my most favorite feature!

MZ- your husband is 100% right, and yesterday I felt badly about posting here behind my husband's back so I confessed my treachery to him last night (after a sad attempt at a lap dance- hehe jk). Thankfully he is well aware of my diamond addiction (his wallet is painfully aware!) and he just chuckled wryly and promised me that he would hide it again. Naturally, the first thing I did when he left for work this morning was check his nightstand- and it was still there! So I had to take a couple more photos. But since then I have tried my best to avoid it today. Ugh, it's just taunting me by sitting in there. I'm getting the shakes just thinking about it, I may need to go and pet it again. I will *definitely* ask him to actually hide it somewhere else as soon as he gets home from work tonight!

Hi All! I have been trying my best not to log in lately for fear that I will be tempted to commit more subterfuge (Enerchi you crack me up!) but I'm having 'one of those days' today (son is sick and I have barely slept over the past 48 hours) and my husband willingly gave me permission to have visiting hours with the ring to cheer me up. So now that my kiddo is down for his nap, I am back to (legitimately) ogle my marquise, and wanted to share a couple pics I took of it with the beautiful vintage band I purchased from Demelza! Still waiting for my husband to gift it to me... It's become a joke between us at this point, so there is no telling how long he will drag it out! =D
