Soo I did try it...but did not get the best results...but I suspect I know why...1) my hair was pretty dirty when I did it and 2) my water is so soft the I could not rinse all of the VO5 out well...(I tired for @ 15 min)...this soft water thing has been a problem since I moved here a few months ago...really noticable when I am getting my dishes ready to go in dishwasher...I like to give them a quick onceover with a little soap and water...sometimes I just can''t get slimy/soapy feeling off of them...I have broken more dishes cause they slip right out of my hands

I could really feel the VO% conditioner residue in my hair afterwords...Now when I washed my hair the next day I had to use shampoo...to get the stuff out...and it worked OK...cause I think it left just some of the conditioner...stiil not sure...my hair looked okay...not great but okay...

I am going to keep working on this...to get the concentration/rinsing right...I definately think the rinsing is key...

I was wondering: I couldn''t find the kiwi and lime VO5, so does any VO5 conditionner work? I bought Suave naturals lilac and lavender extract and vitamin B5, but my hair seemed to be losing it''s curl...

for me, some of them are too rich or too much protein. if they are thick, or greasy they don't work for me. I find that the "runny" ones work best. look for the word CLARIFYING on the label

the VO5 body (Tan color) is too rich
the VO5 free me freesia (purple) is too thick, too much protein. made my ends crunchy and tangly
the VO5s with collagen/keratin also failed
VO5 tangerine was ok
VO5 kiwi lime terrific
i have not tried the strawberry.

the suave light green one (flavor?) did a good job once when i was out of town. i would buy it again.

use A LOT -- scrub scrub scrub and rinse rinse rinse. when you think you are done, rinse again.

your hair will have a different "feel"-- very soft. you should not have a greasy, yucky hair/scalp when this is done. your hair should look just as clean as if you have used shampoo.

try diluting the conditioner by half before you start. some times if my head is really yucky i have to lather rinse and repeat.
