Any Houston Pricescopers?

Well LaurenthePartier and Katie from WF met up, but I underestimated the time it took to get to Dallas from Houston, and got there 45 mins late and couldn''t find them inside the mall. Iwannaprettyone was supposed to meet us, but she got really sick and had to go to the hospital. I emailed Katie from my cell phone, but she didn''t get the message until she got HOME, so she gave me Lauren''s number and my cell phone wouldn''t connect to her number!

lol, I went to Tiffany''s and Cartier, and all the jewelry stores with my best friend while we were up there, so it wasn''t a TOTAL loss.. the weather was great, we had the top down, and we had a good time.

Aww thats a shame! If it had been me I would have gone to the loud speaker thing that they use when children get lost, and said ''can you put a call out to Laurenthepartier, tell her that curiopotter is waiting for her by the ladies bathroom'' lol!!

Maisie, just want to let you know you are arriving right smack in the middle of what I like to call the "oh my GOD when will it END!!!" part of the summer. High temps...high humidity. Pack appropriately!!!

I must be dedicated Tacori - I have moments of clarity where I think its a long way to go but that soon passes and the excitement kicks in again!!

Maise, What area of town do you need to be close to other than whiteflash? It might be easier for you just cab to WF....also Richmond Ave is a really long street it goes across the city so just because the BW is on Richmond doesn''t mean its actually close. Just a tip since Houston in ginourmous and very spread out, plus might cut down on some cab fare.

The hotel I booked is right across the street from Whiteflash. I don''t have a clue how far the airport is from the hotel but the only places we will be going is WF and The Galleria which I believe is quite close to the hotel too.

Are you coming to the get together?

Maise, I''ll check my calendar in July when we get closer and let you know. Glad you have confirmation that the hotel is actually close. Another place to eat at is Ouise''s Table, its pricey but they have the best mac & cheese.

Are you flying into Intercontinental Airport? If so, the airport is pretty much far away from everywhere. It''s way up north, so about a 30+ minute drive to where Whiteflash is located.

Bring your appetite, cuz there are tons of great restaurants to choose from! As Mara mentioned, Pappas Steakhouse is great -- my in-laws (very well traveled) swear by it and we always take them there whenever they come to visit. Really great Tex-Mex and BBQ also.

Yes I am flying into Intercontinental Airport. I didn''t realise it was so far out. I will just have to take a taxi - probably not going to be that cheap lol!

I am really looking forward to some fabulous food! I am on a diet but I reckon I can have a few days off!

Alot of them come with GPS now, and it would make getting around alot easier, and honestly, if you''re going to be taking taxi''s everywhere it will probably end up more expensive. Just my thought...

I would also think about renting a car. A taxi from Bush Intercontinental to that Best Western is probably going to be around 100 bucks each way. Getting out of the airport can be somewhat confusing, but the GPS helps. I know you can search Orbitz.com has a car rental page that you can find out pricing for a car at the airport. Sometimes going to the actual website afterwards is cheaper than orbitz, but u can search multiple cars that way.

I think we should have one massive PS Reunion, where everyone flies in from all over the world and has a massive party, like at a wedding reception venue. We could all get dressed up, show off our sparklies and get blotto on bubbly! DH, SO, FI etc to stay at home!!!

Hey, maybe the PS vendors could sponsor us!

Throw in some flights etc. Discounts on the night We could bring out wallets too and buy some new sparklies. Did someone say upgrade?!?!

Maise I just found out that if you pick up yor ring from Whiteflash you will have to pay sale tax. I am looking at getting my RHR made by some of the Pricescope jewellers and picking it up when we go to New York and Bob from Whiteflash said "If you pick it up here you will have to pay sale tax. Maybe you should go to LA or Las vegas and get it sent to the nearest Fed ex. You would have a lot of furn with your daughter at these cities

Not only do I have to pay sales tax, I have to declare my ring on the way back through customs as well. I don''t mind, it will still be a fun trip!

Are You sure yo wouldn''t want to go to LA and go to Disneyland with your daughter and Hollywood etc. I did with my 14 year old on our own and had a blast.
I can give you lots of tips and a great hotel rec where they treated yo u like family + shopping i very good and they will send your ring to you to the nearest fed ex centre of which there are billions in the USA

Stephanie Blotto is such a great word and I am thrilled that a youngin form Oz is using this word to describe well drinking.
