All I can say to you is that it appeared you were WAY happier with the pink pear than any of the asschers. I understand doubt, but the right stone will walk you down the path kicking and screaming if it has to. Ask me how I know this ROFL!Date: 10/10/2006 8:01:42 PM

I''ve been looking at asschers for about six months now and am mesmerized by their sleek classy yet understated look. I''m wondering if those of you who own asschers wish you''d bought another cut and if so what would you get if given another choice?
do you think it''s worth it in tiny asschers like .30?Date: 10/10/2006 8:45:31 PM

I''ve been mezmerized by my Mom''s asscher since I was fifteen....I wear it everyday now, and still stare at it constantly. I can''t imagine anyone ever getting bored with their almost hypnotic appeal...
I do think there is a poster who traded in her asscher for something else, but I can''t remember who...
I guess one thing a person could regret about them is that they do face up quite small for their carat weight...but to me, it''s worth it..

I think the patterns might be too hard to see in a stone that size, but could be wrong?? Never saw one that size before.Date: 10/11/2006 10:22:42 AM

It really really really is. That setting looks like it was MADE for the radiant. Beautiful.
Another reason to get an asscher is... you can tell snarky people they can ''kiss your assch!'' LOL.
Of COURSE I''m KIDDING - that would leave smudges on the table!

I have to admit that I was smitten with the pink pear set in a pave halo, but it wasn''t meant to be ( read..I couldn''t make it happen!).
I absolutely love Eva''s radiant and setting, but maybe because it''s huge!!!!! Huge and diamond make my eyes spin
Despite the fact that it appears that I have an unlimited ring budget, it just isn''t the case. In fact, I have lowered the budget to about 25k from 35k. I should add that the reduction is self-imposed.
I do love different shapes and for a while was considering a cushion in a halo setting, but I always seem to come back to that loveof great asschers.
So here''s where the situation stands as of tonight: I have ordered a 2.35c F VS1 X X asscher from James Allen who has offered it at a terrific price (well within the new budget). It has only one slight drawback- strong blue fluoresence which Jim has assured me has no negative impact on the stone. He also offers a 30 day money back guarantee.
To feed my pink cravings and add impact, I contacted Maytal and received a sketch from her which will incorporate pink diamonds in a pink gold halo. While the ring will look similar to qqq''s, I''m staying with a legacy-esque profile.
All in all, I''m really, really, really looking forward to the final dream ring!!!!!

DROOLING
I''ve seen asscher eternity bands and that recent tennis bracelet was that size I think! Asschers to me are a stone that almost has to be big - not that small ones aren''t pretty but just the bigger the better... I don''t feel that way about other shapes. The only asschers I''ve seen in *person* were in the 1-1.5 c range and they were okay but when I see the big ones or the closeups here I really like them. I like being able to see the facets of the stone.... when I was looknig at OMCs I saw some that were like 1/2 carat and I couldn''t see SQUAT so it did nothing for meDate: 10/11/2006 10:43:08 AM

I think ANY girl that loves jewelry in general might on certain days wish for a different cut...maybe a cut that looks bigger, or one that it featured in InStyle Weddings or whatever Tiffany comes out with (i.e. Lucida and Legacy cut diamonds)...BUT, when it is all said and done, I wouldn''t change my asscher for a million bucks (okay, maybe a million)...
There are MANY downfalls to having an asscher!
1. They look smaller than some of their fellow mates...
2. They show color more than some of their fellow mates...
3. They show inclusions more than some of their fellow mates...
4. They show dirt so quick sometimes it is frustrating!
BUT some of the benefits are amazing!
1. They are sleek.
2. Timeless.
3. Understanded.
4. Unique.
5. And their cut is so yummy you could stare into it for hours....
AT THE END OF THE DAY, IT IS ALL ABOUT WHAT ONE PREFERS...
Just my 2cents
