Wishful, I did try drinking water (2 big glasses) but it just ended up making my stomach feel terrible. I guess I''m a little queasy and the extra water didn''t help a whole lot. Maybe something carb-y will.

Also, the pharmacist suggested watching a movie to distract myself. Any suggestions?

I am here!! Sorry, a bit late!!

Hope you're sleeping, Princess and Wishfulthinking and everyone who who's been having trouble falling asleep.

I definitely would not drive if I hadn't had any sleep at all. Very dangerous!!

I hate not being able to sleep! Try and get at least half an hour or so shut-eye, better than not at all. I know it's easier said than done, but try not to think about not being able to sleep, the more you stress out about it, the more you won't be able to go to sleep. God knows, this has happened to me much more often than not.

Yes, watching a movie or reading a book helps. I know, cliche, but it *does* help.

I wish I was sleeping! Thanks anyways, Pheonix. :)

I am just procrastinating, but I swear I''ve written a page more already!

Can you watch your favourite movie, princess? What is your favourite movie, by the way? I know what you mean about the water. When I have too much to drink it makes me feel sloshy and weird on the inside. Ew! I also [shh, don''t tell!] hate the taste of plain water, which makes it even harder to drink!

definitely don''t drive and call your doc in the am.

Kittybean, yeah, that''s my Lola all dressed up for Halloween. The picture cracks me up. She was so mad for the whopping 30 seconds she had that hat on.

Favourite books....The Time Traveler''s Wife. The God of Small Things. Outlander. Lamb. Song of Solomon. I''m trying really hard to remember all of them, lol. I was an English major, so books are kind of my thing. I have shelves and shelves of them (and 7 more on the way from Amazon, thanks to a gift certificate from my aunt).
I''m sorry you feel yucky still, my dear. Your kitty is too funny! I love the name Lola, and animals in costumes always make me crack a smile. My parents'' dog was Superdog this Halloween, although he only really would tolerate the red cape.

I know what you mean about remembering the favorite books. I can never seem to think of all the ones I love. I''ll have to check out some of your favorites that I haven''t read. I thought you might be a book lover from your previous (very grammatically correct) posts
1.gif
, and you had mentioned your English major past in the grammar thread.

I really hope the meds wear off soon. As far as movies to watch, I''d go for something hilarious or a romantic comedy. When Harry Met Sally is my favorite ever. Anchorman, Wedding Crashers, Elf, Caddyshack, Knocked Up, Forgetting Sarah Marshall, any Best of SNL, and Sex & the City all come to mind. I might be watching an episode of SATC myself as I try to go to bed again in a moment. (Sadly, FI is snoring up a storm, so I think I might fare best on the couch.)

Phoenix! How is life over on my favourite island? (You''re in Singapore, right?) Gosh, I miss it so much. Haha, I''ve got pictures of roti on my screensaver making me hungrrrrry.

Hmmm, Wishful, favourite movie? Silence of the Lambs. Not that I have a copy of that. I love Roman Holiday, too. There''s something I completely adore about the honesty of the ending of that movie.

Oy, sweetie, I just saw your post about having to work tomorrow [lazy reading... blurry vision, perhaps?]. I''m so sorry! Definitely try to get a ride. Geez, can you have your doctor call your employer? Or is that just wishful thinking on my part? Hah. I wish they were more understanding.

Surviving without caffeine is a tough one, but my suggestion is maybe trying to get up and moving a bit in the morning to revitalize yourself... if you can. I try to do jumping jacks to get myself to snap out of being sleepy, and sometimes it works, but you''re sick!

Crackers might be good for the queasy tummy. Or some toast with butter or peanut butter. I think the carbs may settle your stomach. I get nauseous sometimes from too much caffeine (similar feeling to too much pseudoephedrine), and eating some bread, pasta, crackers, or cereal often helps.

Twinnies to the end! I have never seen Roman Holiday. I will put it on my must-see list. I do have to say I likely did not inherit your grammar gene. I don't even want to know what my posts must look like to someone who is stellar with grammar!

[and my late night comma splices are probably annoying as well-sorry!]

ETA: MMM carbs!

Kittybean, definitely check out those books. Especially The God of Small Things. Superb.

The cats are chasing each other around the apartment. I don''t think they know what to do with me still awake at prime play time. Lola is such a sweet girl, and Ezra is like the pesky little brother. But he''s a lap cat at heart, and loves to cuddle.

And Wishful, I really wish I didn''t have to go to work, but I have missed two days and my boss is not exactly thrilled about that. I''ll make it through the day. Somehow.

Yes, I am indeed. SG really *is* a nice place to live. I just answered DF''s question on favourite meals. There are far too many types of delicious foods here!! Not good for weight watching!!

Oooohhh, Silence of the Lambs, not sure if I''d want to watch that whilst trying to sleep, just my opinion. I prefer cute movies or comedies, something easy and would leave you feeling happy.

And psh on the grammar thing. I''m just a nut.

I think I''ll probably pop in Roman Holiday and have a good laugh. Silence of the Lambs is great, but definitely not a just before bedtime movie.

Gosh. It''s 4:18. I really want sleep.

This flu is kicken my behind and iv got to go lay down.

Hope your feeling better real soon princesss and hope you can get some sleep.

Superpowers is definitely the answer!

As for the grammar, I think I used to be better at it [AP English language...] but I''ve lost my touch. When I finalized my abstract for my thesis my sister asked to read it and instead of saying anything nice about it she informed me that I *almost* had dangling modifiers [or some other random obscure thing] and it bugged her. And I''m like, really? It''s grammatically correct but *almost* not and yet you still have to pick on me?!?!?
39.gif
As long as you''re not mean to me I won''t care. At least in my dept. most people seem to suck at writing, so my profs always like what I write. Lucky me.

Thank you, strm! You're a sweetie! I need to hear that... my ego is running out of steam and I'm running out of time!

I hope you feel better soon. I am sending healing dust to you. :)

Definitely go watch Roman Holiday, princess! It's waaaay too weird to watch Silence of the Lambs right before bed. Eeek! Healing dust to you too!

Okay, I might be starting to get a little tired, so I''m going to try to take advantage of it. Of course, that may put out the almost 10 lbs of cat perched on my chest. He seems determined to calm my heart down himself. He''s a cuddly little sweetheart.

Get some rest, strm. The flu is no good.

Wishful, honey, get to work so you can sleep. And remember, I''m here if you need me, okay? Work on your paper, give DW a kiss, and breathe.

Goodnight princess, love. <3 I wish I could give DW a kiss... she is in CA until the 27th and I haven''t seen her in a month. No wonder I''m so down! Everything will be fine, though. I have awesome people thinking happy thoughts for me. Thanks. :) I hope you''re able to sleep, feel better, and get through the day tomorrow!

Real quick: BOO for SO''s being out of town. BF is in VA with his friends right now. I mean, I couldn''t do much beyond make him miserable and sleepy, but at least he''d be HERE.

Okay, bed now. I mean it.
