I just ordered my xmas cards yesterday. My husband said that I must be the only crazy one to do this so early. I told him NAHHHHH I'm sure
there are others who prepare early.

Am I alone? Anyone started shopping? Prepping?

Nooooo way. Yesterday I was in a local store and they had their displays all decked out for Christmas and I was so tempted to pick up some red candleholders and misc. other little colorful decor items and it took so much retraint to stop myself! My husband would be super mad since we just moved and still have unpacking to do!

For cards this year, I'm going to do the photo cards. I've never done those before but they seem more affordable than what I normally do - buy cards and then send everyone school photos of my kids (which have become insanely expensive!)

Holidays? What holidays?

Ha, you are so not alone. I'm starting to get excited about the holidays, too. I wanted to get some cute Christmas decorations a couple weeks ago, but FI said I was nuts. So I'm trying to hold out until the first of November, but then I'm letting loose with buying decorations and cards. I've already decided what I want gift-wise, too.

Nope. Hate the holidays. They feel forced and unnatural. If I don't want to see somebody during the year then I really don't want to spend my "holiday" with them. Yep, I'm a scrooge

That's what I always send the photo cards. When my husband saw the price he was like WHAT?!?! lol :naughty:

No shopping or decorating yet, but I always like to do a thorough cleaning in the Fall. We just had the carpets replaced today, so having all the cabinets unpacked is a good reason to start. I did eye some candles the other day though....

It's funny, I love the holidays but I'm not really into decorating for some reason. There have been some years that my husband and I had a Christmas tree and other years when we haven't bothered to get one. This year though, I'm really excited to get one. We have a bay window in our living room and I think a tree would look great in that spot. I'm the same way with Christmas cards -- send them out sometimes, skip it others.

I have already started shopping for Christmas, I am making lists of things my kids want and I am starting the planning process of whose house it will be at, food ect....I need to starting my shopping early as money is a little tight.

My sister is right there with ya - i think you're both nuts!!!! :cheeky:

No, no, no. Christmas is in December. No.

I can't cope with it popping up before it's even properly winter. I want to write to someone and complain about this. Angry from Scotland would like Christmas moved back to where it's meant to be...

Rant over.

If it makes you happy, shop, shop, shop!

I've got gift ideas for everyone, I will start buying them next week on payday. I already have a couple things purchased, and I made a wish list for Micah since my family is really only getting gifts for the baby this year (money is tight all around, so that actually is helpful...until I see how many gifts he ends up with lol). All of my gifts will be handmade this year to save pennies, and they are so much fun!

I kind of had a mini moment of panic today when I realized that my parents, MIL, and SIL are all coming to our house for Christmas. Not that I mind them all visiting and I don't mind feeding all of them (I looove cooking big dinners with my mom), but I remembered that we haven't decorated for Christmas in years and we actually have to do it this year. Crap. We do have an artificial tree, but we haven't actually put it up in two years. I'd also like to find some other tasteful decorations to put out, but I'm not sure what. I'm really not into seasonal decorating, but I feel this pressure to make an effort.

Maybe I can just get Santa hats for the rabbits and call it a day?

I haven't done anything to prepare yet, but I already really can't wait for the holidays!

hahah that would be so cute! If you do it, I hope you'll post pictures!

No, I'm not really thinking about Christmas yet - although it's kind of been forced upon me because one of my relatives wants to have it at her house so she's already asking if everyone's OK with it...arrgggghhh...no, I'm not OK with it. Actually, I'd like to go to the mountains and DISAPPEAR and come back January 2nd - do my own thing. :)

My mom's trying to get all the holidays sorted out with who is spending which day with what family, etc.
Unfortunately, all my decorations are in boxes since we are in our "temporary home" this holiday season.
I LOVE to decorate- I am sad that I probably will only put up a baby tree and call it a day. Just means more excitedment for next year!
