Anyone have a BOSE wave? Are they really that good?

Your thoughts on it..do you like it, or LOVE it? Does it really make songs sound that much more clear, crisp, and loud??

I have one and it is around 5 years old, I do like it and the sound is very clear and crisp, but it doesnt sound as good as I thought it would and I was somewhat dispointed in the sound. I have a set of the Bose AM5 speakers (the small cube speakers) and the sound is amazing out of those so I just thought since they sounded so good that the Wave radio would sound very good, so I assumed the Wave radio would be good. Its not bad, but I am not sure its worth the amount that it cost.

My husband who is a big old nerd says that they aren''t worth the money unless you can get one for half price or so...that was his take on it when I wanted to get one.

yep! you can get better quality for less $$. Think of bose as the Tiffany of sound. Nice stuff, but you can do better for the price

We got one as a gift. The sound is nice, but not life-changing, and it is very compact. They are pretty cheap at the BOSE outlets around the holidays. My MIL bought three that year and spent about $600 total, so well below retail. And you don''t need the special ipod dock, cheap cables from RadioShack work just as well.

Thanks everyone..my hubby talked about getting me one for Christmas I told him "NO"!! The one he was looking at was about $800. Well..yesterday, upon returning from shopping, I see a yellow sticky note on my door from UPS. I called myhusband at work to tell him there was a attempted delivery and gave him the tracking number. I guess he went to pick up the package. I noticed it said the pacakge was from Bose Inc. So..I assume he went ahead and got one for me. I garbaged the yellow sitcky note..because I don''t want him to know that I KNOW!! I will try to act surprised at Christmas time. Part of me wants to tell him to return it now, mostly because we said we weren''t going to buy each other much this Christmas after just spending a few grand rennovating our 3 bathrooms. Now that I''m reading, the system is not THAT great, for the price..I''m a little upset that he went and purchased it. Hmmmmmm.

The system is actually really nice. It is compact and I have yet to see other systems that small, that aesthetically pleasing and of that quality for the price. I don't really agree with some of the other people that posted comments... I think that some of the other comments are a little harsh and not really accurate.

Yes you may be able to get better quality sound but the looks of the bose system are second to none and can be placed in any room and will not look awefull like some other systems.... And is any system life changing lol????

As far as the tiffany diamond comment, you pay a premium for the name and performance guarantee. A bose system is one of the best out there. Yes, you could hook an ipod to two large speakers and get better sound quality but the system will stick out and look bad in a room.... The bose will not...

I like ours.

Down side is is that we can''t add speakers to it (like surround). But, it has a pleasant sound and is noticeably richer than a normal receiver... Nice bass.

Well..it would be mostly for the kitchen (when I''m in that room during the day). We have other systems in the family room,(surround soung/Big Screen TV), living room, and basement (workout area),so O''m not worried about attaching it to bigger speakers..etc. I think he was thinking, that I could put it anywhere, because it is so small/portable.I might like to put it in my new favourite room (the jacuzzi tub bathroom), and sit in there with some mellow music and a glass of wine (as long as I don''t let in fall into the tub right..right? )

The bose is PERFECT for your needs. The bose is the best package for its size and the best looking! The sound is crisp and rich like the others have said. Does it have bass to play Rap at high levels NO but that is not what it is for

However, they really do have strong magnets and do pack a nice punch!

I know several people with them in their kitchen and they blend right in....

I bought hubby a Bose the first Christmas we were together. We love it, it has a beautiful sound I only wish we''d bought the multi-disc player instead!

I''m sure that is what he got..looks like two pieces..top and bottom (5 disc changer). I''m getting excited not..lol

Never heard of phase..I''m sure the BOSE will be more than enough sound for me in the kitchen (I only spend two hours/day in there..max!

Just coming back to say..My BOSE kicks @ss!!
I love it!! It fills the kitchen and dining room with quality sound!! My hubby was happy that he surprised me this Christmas!
