Ok, so I am a bit of a goober and got some cost things mixed up (with us having MORE money than I had thought!!!), and now it''s 100% fine for me to get the shoes.

And not only that, but J thinks it''s good for me to get the dream dress and shoes--he says it''s encouraging my inner girly girl, something in which I don''t usually indulge, and he likes it. He also just plain likes seeing me this excited. How sweet is that?

So, assuming they don''t all run out before I place my order, they are mine!!

EEEEEEeeeeeeee!!!!! Yay Gwen! I can''t wait to see pictures of them on you!

So exciting!! I read this earlier and popped back in to tell you I splurged on mine, and you should too!

Congrats on your dream shoes! I love the idea someone mentioned above about wearing them on their anniversary - LOVE that idea!

Since these are neutral, they should go with lots of special outfits!

they were white fabric flats that I had dyed ivory to match the dress.
I was concerned enough about navigating with a train in a very big dress without worry about navigating in high heels, too, even though I am very short. In my wedding pictures, it is really noticeable that I am six inches shorter than all the bridesmaids who were not only taller but wore heels.
I believe that people normally do wear them again--in my case I didn''t because they were fabric and didn''t match much of anything else I owned. I certainly would have if they had been expensive.
25 years later they are the only part of my wedding outfit that I cannot fit. My feet grew after I had children. and they are a size and half too small now.

Yay! You got the shoes!!! They will be beautiful with that lovely dress!!! I just love the sleeves on the dress BTW!!! Can''t wait to see pics IRL.

Yay! That''s so exciting that you are going to get your dream shoes. And on top of it all, it sounds like they ended up right in the middle of economical and splurge which is a huge PLUS. May they be everything you dreamed.

YAY!!!

Mine were $20 reef flip flops in white that I wear now. But I am not a ''shoe person'' so it wasnt a big deal to me.

The only things I know about shoes are from you guys, Sex and the City and my work friends! hahahahaha!

(My favorite designer is Converse if that tells you anything)

DMB, I think we''re kindred spirits. I wore Old Navy flip flops to my senior prom. When I suggested wearing converse to my wedding, though, my mother vetoed the idea.

Awesome! I splurged on the Reefs because I knew they''d be more comfy for dancing. :)
Your cat is so cute by the way!

Gwendolyn, this is the only time that this wedding "stuff" is allowed to go to your head. Enjoy it to its fullest!

PS. I want to thank you, because YOU helped me find my wedding shoes! I love that designer so much that I''m going to order a pair of her heels! So, thank you SO MUCH for ending my 6 month long shoe search!

get the shoes get the shoes! your dress is beautiful! who is it by?

yay!!!! what an awesome mistake to make!!!!!!! i cant wait to see those shoes on!! they are really beautiful.

Mine were $60 or so, gold 2-1/2" heels I think I could pair with jeans & a sext top. I don''t think I could ever spend as much as those shoes are, but if you can''t stop thinking about them (which you clearly can''t) they might just be your shoes. THE shoes. Glad you bought them.

P.S. All you ladies are bad influences! LOL ;-)

I spent $140 on the shoes I''m going to wear. I also bought another pair that I really lusted over too that was $160. So my wedding day shoes are gold sandals that are like 3.75 inches. But they were pretty comfy. The other pair i "justified" that I''ll wear to another wedding related event. I wore it to a rehearsal dinner last weekend. And SOOO glad I bought them: never broke them in, wore 3.5 inch heels for 3 hours and my feet didn''t hurt! LOOOOVE! I''m still working on breaking in my gold ones.

Gwen, those shoes are LOVELY!!! You realize you''re going to need to post pics of you wearing them when you get it right?

Heeheee, I was so excited to get the shoes yesterday (and also excited that we have more money than I had realized!) but reading your posts about it is letting me stay really happy and excited about it! So thank you!!

Yay I''m delighted that you ordered them! They''re beautiful and will look great with your dress. I splurged on two pairs of pricey shoes but I adore them both and have worn them both out since.

Mine will be. I''m getting married on a deck on the beach, so I''m thinking short heels. I''ll probably hit Wal-Mart or Payless for them, I refuse to spend over $20, AND they have to be something I will wear again.

Gwen I''ve seen those shoes in real life and they are GORGEOUS

How exciting! I was going to say you should get them, I think they''re totally re-wearable and it is your wedding day.

I voted my shoes were somewhere in the middle of splurge/economical ....they were slightly more expensive than the majority of shoes I buy, but I will wear them again, and my parents paid and they didn''t have a problem with the price.

Yay!!!!! Glad you were able to get the shoes you wanted!!!!!!!

Hi gwendolyn!

I occasionally come into this area - what's not to love about looking at all the gorgeous images of flowers and gowns, and everything!

I caught the poll on your shoes, and read through the posts, and am so glad you decided to go for the shoes, they truly are beautiful - well done!

I've been meaning to ask you, after seeing that you are planning 2 'weddings' - one here and one over the pond, which of you is from stateside, and which of you is from the UK? Or both from one or other?!

We've had wedding plans on hold, for quite a while, owing to some personal stuff happening in our lives, but we are going to get the ball rolling pretty soon again.

We also(?)are one of each...him from California, and me a UK'er - so have been toying with either getting over pond to do the deed, in NY - or staying put. If we make the move, it likely will be for good, so a big step, and we just got a new doggie to add into the mix!

Anyways...I saw your dress, it is so lovely, and the shoes are such a match for it - it's going to look gorgeous.

I went onto the site, as I was so impressed, even though that style is not quite for me. I'm a tad older than the normal 'bride' - so something a little less bridal is wanted/needed!

I saw something, that totally blew me away - and although I probably wont get this exact one, it is the style I have been searching for.

A year ago, I bought some vintage lace, which is to die for...eyelash edging and all! It's a mid ivory, with re-embroidery, which I bought for a steal, and have way too much at 11 yards!! But it came as a bundle...so bought it all!

So, my search is on - for a paper pattern, and a wonderful seamstress, to make this dress - or one very like it! I intend to have something across the shoulders too, or even a short jacket to go with it, as I would love to have sleeves perhaps...we shall see.

So - thank you...your gorgeous dress led me to see this one!

And, I can't wait to see your shoes!!

Wendy
