Filled up yesterday....just over $35 to fill up the tank on my 2 seater convertible...I don''t even want to think what it would take to fill up an SUV. Thank goodness I moved back up to San Mateo and am closer to my work, so fill ups will drastically decrease in regularity!

$2.46 per gal for low grade at costco today.

Its been dancing around that $60 mark for almost a week (week and a half?) now.
I filled up on Monday but I can''t remember what I paid. I think it was $2.27 for 93. I find it amusing that in my small town it costs more than in places like Charlotte, Mooresville and the Cornelius/Huntersville area.

What''s up with that??

The price here in Pensacola, FL is about 2.17 a gallon for the lowest grade. When my parents were talking about buying me a car 3 years ago, I asked for a car that gets good gas mileage just for this reason, and gas wasn''t as expensive back then. Luckily my little Civic EX gets over 30 MPG so I''m feeling the hurt of the prices, but not as bad as my fiance, who only gets like 18 MPG. Plus, he drives aabout 45 minutes to work every day. That''s about 1.5 hours (on the interstate!) a day with a vehicle that only gets 18 MPG. He spends probably about 200 dollars a month in gas! It''s terrible.

It costs me $40.00 to fill up my car, ouch!!!!!

it won''t be just at the gas pump. think of all the car parts, things in your house, containers at the grocery store, petrochemicals, etc. that will be effected by this.....

i guess the cost of living is really high in Hawaii because, it''s a tourist state.

When it got low again (low is relative I suppose), I got in the habit of driving to work....but now, public trans it is! $2.39 by my house, $2.56 ish downtown Chicago, at least where I work. Its high, but it just makes me think about how I use my car and I think I'm more effecient.

(ETA) Btw,a bunch of people at my work place got Prius's with in the last year or so and LOVE them. I think the most recent purchase was pretty loaded, like gps, leather, package #9 I think? And at 26k it was a bargain, the guy said he gave himself a $40/week raise. I love my jetta, but I think that'll be my next car down the road.

HELP !!! can somebody ship me some cheap gas? i just fill up a Honda civic,it cost $30

$2.65 for medium grade and $50 to fill up my tank. Bastards.

So you think fuel is expensive when costing 2.5$/gallon? You have seen nothing yet

In Finland we measure it in liters instead of gallons -> one gallon is 3.785 liters.
One liter of 95 octane costs at the moment ~1.29 euros.
That would sum up 4.88 euros per gallon! (one $ is about 0.8 euros, so it is even more converted to USD)

One reason to why we don''t drive Hummers. Oh, and the other reason is that cars are so heavily taxed that no one can afford a Hummer anyway..

Last Wednesday night I filled up at 2.19 for regular unleaded. By the next morning the price had jumped to 2.35. I heard on the news later that day to expect prices to go up even more, and surely enough by the weekend, it was up to 2.45! I''m now down to about half a tank and debating if I should just go ahead and fill it up again now at that price, or wait until I''m empty in hopes that it will go down before then. We are going on vacation next week, and I''m betting that next to our hotel bill, gas will be the thing we blow the most money on. Usually our second biggest expenditure on vacation is food, but I think that gas prices are so high now, we must be feeding our automobiles gourmet petroleum.

It''s a bit cheaper here. . .I''m using the lowest-occtane and at AM/PM it''s only 2.33 per gallon. I''m SOOOO glad I traded in my Explorer for a Subaru!
