I love it and am sure she will too! Love the antique setting. Good luck!

It''s beautiful. I love bezel settings and art deco styles. She will love it.

Hi Eveyone,

It looks like Friday is the big day...hey, i was just wondering, i''ve been holding onto this ring now for nearly a month. Does anyone have any quick tips for shining this thing up again? I''m sure it''s fine, but i''ve been looking at it and thus touching it a lot

Hi Eveyone,

Congrats! The ring is stunning--I would pop in to a jeweler for cleaning, that way it will be spotless and shining at its best for the proposal. I can never seem to get mine as clean as they do and I have tried all the machines and cleaning solutions.

Ditto Shimmer -- the jewelery store cleaners will do the best job and it only takes a minute or two for them to do it.

If you can't get to a jeweler, fill a bowl with warm -- not hot -- water and a little dish soap (like Dawn). You only need a drop or two of dish soap, just to make the water a bit sudsy. Keep the bowl and the ring away from any open sinks! Leave the ring sit in the water for a bit, swish it around a little, and find a soft, clean toothbrush to give it a gentle scrub. Rinse well with warm water, being careful not to touch the diamond while you're rinsing the ring, and make sure the drain is closed!

Lay the ring on a paper towel to absorb the water and pat it dry. If you have one of those eyeglass cleaning cloths (clean) you can gently rub the ring with one of those to remove any water spots and get rid of any lint.

Best of luck to you on Friday! It's a lovely ring.

Ditto Sarap, great suggestions for cleaning at home. Instead of a toothbrush, recently I have used a soft eyeshadow brush (from a Lancome bonus gift) and found it works much better. It can really clean in the pavilion because the hairs are so flexible, I always missed spots with the toothbrush because it couldn't bend around the entire pavilion.

ETA: I just dittoed your ditto!

You sure did well as that''s a stunning ring! Goodluck on Friday and please do come back with her hand shots!!

Just take it to a jewelry store and most will clean it for you. Good luck. I cannot wait to see hand shots. It is a stunner!

Thank you very much for the help everyone. I will keep you updated

ahhhhhh....this thread is so cute. It''s so nice to see all the effort and excitement! I hope things go well. She''s a lucky girl!!!

Of course, it goes without saying that you will have to give us all the details of the proposal along with handshots......Good luck
