Asscher From GemConcepts : code name Mildred

Breathtaking! More pictures please!!

Lovely Mildred for a lovely lady! Can't wait to see her in the finished setting. What did you pick out? Enjoy it for many years to come!

This thread soooo needs a selection of videos in different lights ;) :D

Love it!

Absolutely breathtaking and beautiful in the temp setting too. Maybe don’t rush into a reset just yet and see how this setting feels. Looks amazbling on your hand. It is W:love:W gorgeous!

Absolutely glorious, @Jimmianne - a stunning stone! I also love the temp setting, and think it complements the stone nicely.

Enjoy your new bling, and merry Christmas wishes to you!

@Jimmianne, these are the most glorious diamond photos ever - what personality! Congratulations on your new beauty

Thank you everyone for your kind words.
I am just an innocent bystander who got lucky. When I wrote to Yoram he just happened to have what I was looking for; both in cut & in specs.

It's frustrating because I would like to share a video but not quite sure how to do that without posting to YouTube or something.
Meanwhile, here are a few more photos. Needless to say I am not getting a lot else accomplished today!

Wow! Stunningly beautiful! I love it in it’s temp setting. The stone really shines. What a beauty. Your channel set band with it makes a lovely set. So happy for you!

That stone is so gorgeous! Man. I need one. But until I safe yo, could you post more photos?!?

Great new pictures. Mildred is a shining star.

As you know, I think that is the most beautiful asscher I have ever seen. Yoram is a gifted artist and I love everything he cuts. I am happy to see this one go to such a good home!:appl:

As I mentioned to Missy, I am falling in love with the temporary setting. It’s a bit chunky like the diamond, very secure, protects the stone well, and is so comfortable I forget I’m wearing it. Its my right-hand 24/7 ring.
It was the only Stuller solitaire with double prongs, but I feel that serendipitously the style is very suited to the stone. (So I believe it’s a keeper & I have different project in mind for Caysie).
This will be my second Stuller setting and now I am well-pleased with both.

Ugh! Serious envy right now! I need to get a Yoram Asscher too! So so so so beautiful!

Mildred is not an Octavia??? She looks very Octaviaish to me! She is gorgeous...the cut is amazing!

That high crown just looks incredible - I have to say, your pics are making me waver between my long term aim (dream... lol) of an Octavia, towards one of these!

I also love the setting - I don't think a stone like that needs any additional adornment :)

Wow this is absolutely spectacular!!!:love::love: So incredible even in the temp setting it's making me droooool!!!!

I love the new picture with your band. I think that setting is perfect with your gorgeous diamond.

Thank you! She feels so much a part of me, as though I’ve had her forever. I even wore her shopping yesterday and forgot to look at her under the lights, much less look like a crazy person taking photos of my hand in the deli.

When I ordered the setting I requested unplated gold with a matte finish. Instead they put so much rhodium on it that the hallmarks were filled in. Must be a Southern thing lol
So I’ve been experimenting at home and took the shine off the shank. I think it lets the stone stand out more. I like it better this way but can always change it again.

It woukd be fun to see Yoram's asscher cuts in person next to Octavias.
The Octavia is different in the center, but the high crown and outer steps look very similar, so I do wonder what the performance difference would be, how discernable it is in person, and if the perceived depth of the stone differs.
I suppose Yoram would be the one to answer that.

With shank abraded:

Gorgeous stone!!! How I wish I could see it in person!

Jimmianne, it's stunning in that setting!! Serendipity indeed.

Kgizo, I was surprised at how it looks in person. I couldn’t have imagined it would look as it does.
Rainwood, thank you! I’m enjoying my birthday present to myself. =)2

I can’t stop taking photos, but am not getting many glam shots yet. At least these show the various personalities.
I wish I could thank each of you personally for your enthusiasm! While it is so much fun to have a new diamond, being able to share with you makes the experience sweeter. You are a great tribe, many thanks!
