I wasn''t going to do this so soon but decided I want to propose at Christmas and now im in a rush to get the right ring. PLEASE PLEASE help me make the right choice! I am new to all of this and need all the help I can get.

I am looking for a Asscher diamond with a 2.0mm band with a micro pave to it. I am wanting to keep it under $4000 for sure with setting and all. Here are a few I have been looking at. Are these good quality diamonds for the price? I would like to get as close to 1 ct as possible so I know that I am going to have to sacrafice on quality to get there. Does anyone know of a good place to buy asschers or has anyone seen a good deal on one?

This diamond has a strong fluorescence...is that a bad thing on a asscher?

This is a SI1, will it be eye clean or not?

Anything wrong with this one?

I plan on buying an asscher tomorrow based upon you guys so any and all help is GREATLY appriciated. Feel free to post any links or ideas.

You are not going to like what I say but I am being honest. You really do not want to rush into an asscher until you get pics, and other info from a vendor who KNOWS asschers... I would be very careful about making such an important buy so quickly.

Asschers need to be seen to be purchased, so I would rule out those last two immediately. I also don''t love the picture of the first one. Hopefully Storm will see this and can offer you some good suggestions...but really an asscher is just not a shape that quality should be sacrificed on.

first one is deep but looks pretty good.
Before it can even begin to be recommended we need the crown height and is image.

The other 2 there isn''t enough info to even begin considering them in a tight time frame.

If you have to buy tomorrow get this one...

its only .72 but it has the same spread as the first one you posted.

It is kicken

Hehe, I JUST came back to this thread to post that one too Karl. That would also be my choice with a tight timeframe and budget. And GOG can help you accomplish your setting needs very easily too. AND there is a lifetime upgrade policy should you ever want it.

or this one:
also kicken and bigger than the one above and the one you posted.

This one would be my pick, both of the gog asschers are top cuts but this one is bigger and a little less and H color is ok.

Agreed.

I really like the second one....I have heard nothing but good about GOG and also have read many of your guys posts and trust what you have to say. I think I will go with the second one unless you see another you think would be a better fit.

She wants a thin 1.8 or 2.0 micro pave band. Do you think this one would work with the diamond?

Any idea how much this band should run?

By the way, THANK YOU SO MUCH FOR YOUR HELP!!

That setting would look kicken with it.
Not sure on price as gold and plat has been bouncing all over the place and I haven't been keeping up with it.
Call them first thing in the morning.

No worries. That setting will look great with it. I am sure GOG can work with you within your budget on that setting or something really similar.

I think this ring is going to be stunning! JLC, did you call GOG this morning? How did it go?

Wow, both of those GOG Asschers are gorgeous! Can''t wait to see pics of the finished ring!

I would not ever purchase an asscher with strong fluro. I love the GOG asschers that Karl picked out for you. Good luck!

Karl,

Thanks again for the help!! I ordered the one you suggested back before Christmas and gave it to her Christmas eve. It turned out awesome and she is very very happy with it! I promised I would post some pics so I didn't want to let you down. They are not great but here they are! Good Old Gold was great!!

Edit: I only have 1 pic on this computer...I will post the others later.
