hi! I''m looking for a setting for an asscher e-ring and I really like the look of bezel settings (not pave just simple frame around the diamond). My concern is that the frame might block out too much light or take away from the beauty/brilliance of a step cut diamond.

Should i consider semi-bezel instead?

any owners or viewers with feedback?

Thanks!!

have you checked out some of Leon Mege''s?

Lauren the Partier has the original bezel asscher on PS and it is gorgeous. I have a bezel cushion and it's gorgeous too, although not a step cut.

And as long as a diamond is well cut, a bezel shouldn't take away from it at all. I actually think my cushion looks more brilliant in it's bezel!

I'll find Lauren's thread for you.

nice ring, but as like greyscale am also concerned that it might take away from the brillance of the stone. Still trying to figure out a setting for mine.

I''m telling you that in a well cut stone it really won''t. I have a bezel on my cushion now and had it as a solitaire before. It really looks better now IMO.

If I only had the ability to read my GF''s mind.....

Hi Neat, I do really like the overall look of a diamond in a bezel setting but I''m kinda unsure about how step cuts perform. I did see lauren''s ring as well and it is beautiful.... still deciding.

late: here is an example of semi-bezel from a PS member:

I like the more modern look (not sure if your gf does). I''m also consider something similar to canturi cubism band with sefano (bezel) setting. you can find it on www.canturi.com

very nice ring and even nicr stone ;)

I''m thinking something modern but classic. Consider small baguettes

I liked that as well, especially if you get a matching band. Still not sure of a bezel.

Hi late, Harry winston has some examples of clean/classic styles. You can always go with a simple setting with two side baguettes and if she wants something more complex you can change it later. i''ve had friends who''ve been proposed to with a simple solitaire ring and then later went with their Fiance to pick out a band/setting of their choice.. saves the trouble of guessing!

That''s exactly what I was thinking (was going to see Leon Mege). I also want to have some flexibility when it comes to her picking out the wedding band.

Who have you found to do a canturi like cubism? I really like that look.

I''m still searching for a jeweler that can do it. that cubism does look quite complex! If we could afford it I would have gone to canturi directly but I believe their setting is roughly in th 7K range. I might just end up with a plain band (similar to the semi-bezel I linked earlier). really don''t know either.... so many options out there!

I think it''s a great look as long as she likes mondern designs. If she doesn''t like modern, then I''d put it in a simple pave design instead.

Hi all,

I actually have the Canturi Cubism ring.

greysca1e - I read your comment about pricing - I didnt pay that much for it. It was actually less than that.

It is to die for, my favourite piece of jewelry!!!

hi diamond lover - is yours with a bezeled center stone? would love to see pics! :)
