Is it possible to get theses done accurately after the stone has been set?

Nope. But if it's been set, you've bought the diamond? Are you having 2nd thoughts?

I thought you could get ASET of a mounted stone?

You can but the setting can block backlighting, and the metal can reflect light so you see areas of the diamond that are red from the setting as opposed to light return from the diamond.

Its not that you can't do it, its just the results may not be very conclusive.

It would be best to get a black background not backlit(white) for this purpose as those tend to come out better on already set stones.
