I'm not sure if this is the correct place to be posting this, so feel free to holler at me if it's not! I found a Love ring on ebay that looks genuine to my untrained eye, but the price is "too good to be true". If I post some pictures here would you lovely people be able to tell me if you think it's real or not?

Thanks in advance!

There is a least one factory in China that makes copies of designer jewelry that look more authentic than the cheap copies I see on Ebay. They claim they use real 18k gold and platinum and genuine diamonds. However, I have seen those products on Ebay being sold as genuine. If the seller has posted good clear pictures of the hallmarks and makers marks it may be possible to tell.

These are the pics provided! The only discrepancy I see is there isn't an Au in front of the 750? But looking at other Cartier pieces, sometimes there is and sometimes there isn't

From what I understand is the marks are exact, too, in many solid gold pieces. I think it is the serial number that you can confirm with Cartier that helps determine if it is real or not. I could be wrong but I am pretty sure about this.

Rings with the 52833A serial numbers and the word Love on the sides are the easy to spot fakes. That serial number is used repeatedly. You can buy them for about $20 more or less. They are probably made of titanium not gold.

Perfect, thank you so much! I will save my money :D

I bought both of these Cartier rings separately online.. one is the regular sized and one is the slimmer/wedding band version. Can someone help me authenticate them? They have a different color to them (almost bronze) but I'm not sure if it is because the regular sized ring is from 1996.

They are not the obvious cheap fakes. The thin band markings look good. The diamond shaped makers mark is a French one seen in many authentic Cartier pieces. I'm not sure why it also has the Swiss St. Bernard head stamp. No Au mark before the 750. The diamond shaped makers mark in the wider ring is one I've seen a lot on Ebay, mostly on rings that have a certificate with Asian writing. I have no confidence in that makers mark. I am no expert and cannot be sure if they are genuine or good fakes. Hopefully someone with more knowledge on older Cartier pieces will comment.

I have this pre-owned Cartier love ring. It was authenticated by poshmark but I heard they not too consistent. Please help me authenticate it. If its counterfeit, I will fight to get my money back from poshmark . Thank you everyone IMG_20191130_090940.jpgIMG_20191130_091039.jpgIMG_20191130_090950.jpgIMG_20191130_090957.jpg

Those markings look pretty good. No red flags jump out at me. You're never 100% sure if you didn't buy directly from Cartier, but that ring would not worry me.

Hi - I just bought this yellow gold double/spinner Cartier Love ring from an auction site. Can you help authenticate it? THANKS!! View attachment 72705415768646457701543252375746166971.jpg15768646926172317227661916415944.jpg157686472158759592792316728660.jpg15768647531314551964512930715604.jpg

The markings look right for Switzerland. I'm no expert, but I wouldn't worry about that ring.

I want to purchase a second hand cartier love ring. However, I am unsure of whether it is authentic. Also, do cartier love rings have 'love' engraved onto the side of the rings? i have attached a picture of the ring for reference. Apologies for the blurriness of the photos, they were taken by the seller. The ring has the cartier logo on top and the ring information spans 3 lines, which I have never really seen. Thanks!P0-1.jpgP0.jpg

In the past Cartier did make a Love ring with the word LOVE on the side, but not on the edge as in the cheap fakes. My Love ring that I bought directly from Cartier has only two lines of engraving/stamping on the inside. Those photos are too blurry and the stamp designating where it was made is not visible.

I purchased this ring on eBay with no papers and I’m unsure of it’s authenticity. Could someone kindly let me know what they think? 203813A2-151F-4B52-8D38-48AB877B5A91.jpeg4028EBFA-2733-433F-BA51-3082CBCEF201.jpeg9EAAECE5-97FE-4B8E-BF1B-43C97713AB27.jpeg

That looks like a cheap fake. As far as I know Cartier did not make those rings with that small "LOVE" etched on the edge as in this ring. Also the manufacturer's city mark does not look quite right.

Thank you ! Also after two days of wearing it the gold 733F1241-8F1F-40E3-A41F-80D547A46F53.jpegcolor wore off on an edge (attached photo). The seller insisted this was authentic and they had D47ABF1C-062F-4F65-B7E5-1937788F9008.jpeg100% positive feed back.I hope this helps beware other buyers.

If you can supply a clearer image of the inner stamping, I can tell you if it is real. Unfortunately, it does appear fake.

The first one looks real, although I couldn't verify without having a very clear picture of the stamping. The second one is definitely fake.

If you can provide a clearer picture of the stamp I can verify. Unfortunately, it is most likely fake.

I'm sorry, that ring is definitely fake.

I just received exactly that...the Cartier "Love" ring in rose gold with the 52833A serial number inside. It came via China Post unsolicited. So, the question is, what is the scam and why would someone bother sending something (even if it's worth only $20) to anyone out of the blue? It came with fake documentation indicating that it was worth $HK15,200. It came in a red "Cartier" box in a red "Cartier" bag. Someone went to some trouble to put the package together, I just don't understand why. Of course, no one had to sign for it, and it came with the regular US Mail delivery. Very odd. Thank you for posting the details to confirm that it is fake!

I came into possession of this ring however I have been unable to find out if it’s authentic or not.

This is a replica and worth about $20. It is not 18k gold.

Exactly, and has the same serial number engraved + horrible engraving itself. Everything about this item screams it's a replica.
