Today''s my B-day (won''t say which one) and this is what my DH got me. We actually picked them out together. I thought it was time that I added more colored stones to my jewellery wardrobe. These were not expensive pieces (by PS standards), but I thought they were pretty and a great way to change things up with different summer clothing colors. One is a peridot, and the other is a sky blue topaz with teeny-tiny diamonds and some tanzanite on the sides. I like these because they matched up with my other YG jewellery.

Wow Togal, gorgeous! I love the design of that peridot ring with the diamond accents on the sides....so unique! And the blue topaz ring is just scrumptious, truly. Happy birthday (and happy Flag day!!)...I always remember, cuz my birthday is 3 days from now. Those rings are just awesome!!!!

Very nice B-day presents. I have recently become a fan of peridot since I have seen some nicer stones.I also have gone nuts over the colored stones of all kinds. I find myself matching the color of the stones to the color that is in clothing. What is really sick is shopping for colors that will GO WITH my colored gems. My daughter has done this also..."Oh this color will go with my Tanzanite". I had to laugh because she has made fun of me for doing that.

Everyone has or knows what diamonds are but not many even know that the more exotic gemstones even exist.

Yes, colored gemstones open up a whole new world of jewellery shopping....with a more affordable price-tag!

Very pretty, and nice sizes too! Yes the rule for jewelry should be buy what you love, whatever its price range.

Beautiful rings, I love them. A very happy birthday to you. I find I match my rings to my clothing too. My husband has a good laugh when I do that.

Hi Sophie,

I actually got the Topaz at Mappin''s Jewellers. I never ever shop there, as I know that most of their jewellery, especially diamonds, is way overpriced for what it is, but they had some really pretty gemstone rings and even though I think it was over-priced, I really liked the style and color of it. I got the peridot at a different store called The Bridal Store (brand new store). I did roam around the Diamond Exchange and some of the shops at the Sheraton Centre today and really didn''t see too much that appealed to me, except for a peridot ring (never look for jewellery after you''ve just bought jewellery, because you''ll inevitabley see something you like better

). I kept my eyes peeled for a split shank diamond gemstone ring that you were asking about, but didn''t see anything. The only ones I found were at Birk''s which carry a VERY heafty pricetag ( link), but they are beautiful.

Are those teeny pear diamonds or rounds in pear metal cutouts on your peridot ring?

Those are little round diamonds in pear-shaped metal cutouts.

I love them both, especially the topaz. It looks like a yellow gold bezel set and white gold holding the diaomnds. It''s warm and beautiful.
Happy Birthday!

HI:

I''ve also seen and admired these new ring styles at Mappins--almost bought one msyelf at XMas--an amethyst! Birks is outrageous $$, but has some lovely things as you say. BTW, some of Birks'' gemstone rings included in their "summer sale", being held now.

cheers--Sharon

Thanks wooobug!!I thought maybe you were a Geminii too, since you change your mind a lot, just like me!! (I mean that in the nicest way!)

By the way, I just love your marquise sapphire with your plantinum setting. I think that one''s a keeper!

wow, beautiful rings! I especially like the unique prongs on the peridot ring, those are so cool. Both of those gemstones are huge, and lovely!!
