Looks like you had a blast!! Isn''t Florida the best?!
9.gif
Absolutely. When I was in the US Navy I graduated top of my class and gave me my choice of duty. My first pic was Florida and I was blessed to be stationed there. That''s where I met my wife too! (duh). :) I haven''t posted pix of my fam for security reasons.

Glad you had a fun vacation!

PS Gorgeous horsey pics

Jonathan-

Thanks for sharing those great photos- they really made my day! It looks like some great family memories were made on that trip for everyone, which of course is priceless! Good for you!

Looking forward to the next tutorial....

welcome back rhino,
beautiful pictures... looks like you had fun at universal... did you get to ride the rides? spiderman, the mummy, and the incredible hulk were pretty fun when i went last year.
HEY BOPIT!

Oh HELL YEA!!! I''m like a little kid when I go to these places. :P Went on Hulk and Dueling Dragons rollercoasters. Both are awesome. Also did the Spiderman ride (way cool 3d ride) as well as the new Mummy rollercoaster. Men In Black was also a real kick. I really like the 3d type rides and enjoyed Shrek 4d and Terminator 2 as well. The only ride I regret going on (this time around) was the Back to the Future ride as that turned my stomach a bit. Definitely don''t do that ride after eating or you''ll be calling ralph too. :P Here''s a shot of one part of the Hulk coaster.

Nope! Just the inlaws and the Universal thing. That was enough to keep us busy for 10 days.

Hehe... thanks DF. :) Rhino is a happy camper. :)

Hi Kmom! You are so right ... it is amazing what a little r&r can do for a person. I don''t think I''ve ever needed the time off like I did this time. I''m very excited about completing the projects I''ve begun and I have an awesome surprise for diamond geeks in the upcoming months which is going to be a ton of fun (me thinks)! :)

LS ... good to see you too man. Oh ... the one that got away! If I showed you the size of that one ... you''d quit your day job.

Rhino...Welcome back! Glad to hear you enjoyed yourself. I would too in FL.

Thank you for sharing the pics. They are beautiful! (*Love* the sunset & trees). Looks like you have an eye for more than just diamonds! Will look forward to reading the tutorials once they are complete.

In the meantime, good luck getting back into the swing of things. hehe.
Great pictures! Nooner''s right, you do have an eye for more than just diamonds. May be you should get a second job since you still have time to have vacation

Heh... If I could get paid enough being a photographer that''s a profession I''D LOVE TO PURSUE but only if I had paid trips to various (safe) locations around the world. :) First stop ... Netherlands (where they filmed Lord of the Rings!!!). :)

Hahaha, wrong wrong wrong. Lord of ring was filmed at New Zealand! I actually went to the site - close to this heaven like town called "Queen''s town". I actually checked the real estate in the area -- LOVE the town, soooo beautiful it would be a dream place to retire. Of course, did not get enough $ to buy at that time (end of 2002), then US$ weakened after that and Queen''s town''s real estate doubled since then. Well, I missed the chance to retire there. But NZ welcome photographer like you any time

In terms of beauty and tranquility, compare FL and NZ? sorry, can''t say, I am afraid FL lovers will want to kill me

Hi Hest,

Great to be back! I use the Canon 20D Hest. Over the time I''ve been using Canon Digital SLR''s I''ve managed to put together a nice lil suite of lens, each of which I use for various settings/lighting conditoins/etc. If you''d like to know what lens and settings (aperature/shutter speed/focal length) I used for a particular shot let me know and I''ll give you the details. Are you also a photobuff Hest? If so I''d be curious to know what you use too!

Jelo... DOH! You got me ... that''s right ... New Zealand!!! THAT''S WHERE I WANT TO GO!
emrainbow.gif
I thought I might have had that wrong. :P OTOH my sister recently took a trip (cruise) to Alaska that looked absolutely breathtaking too.

Peace,

Great to be back! I use the Canon 20D Hest
Ah, very nice system. No, I''m a photo *admirer* but not a buff. IOW, though I have an interest in how you guys do it I''m too lazy to put the work into it! I doubt I''d ever get to the point where I''d buy a SLR camera. Your pictures are just incredible, though!

Wow. I appreciate that Hest. Coming from a PS reg who has seen lots of diamond photos, that means alot to me. While we''ve taken scope photography (H&A/LightScope) to a level that I think is pretty darn good its the photographs of loose diamonds we want to master even more. I''ve developed a system which I believe does a heckuva job capturing *craftsmanship* and this is one of the latest photo''s that I really enjoy being able to take. Have you seen this one before?
