Last year I bought a WF "Sleek Line Pave" engagement ring for my g/f with tremendous help from the users on the forums. (Thank you - she loved it)

Im now in search of a wedding band. We''ve tried on numerous wedding bands, and I think we like the look of a band with baguette diamonds in a prong setting in 18k gold (to match the eng. ring metal). Has anyone seen a similar ring or do any of the dealers here sell a similar ring for under $1000? It doesnt have to be an eternity band.

Also, what other types of bands have been matched with the Sleek Line Pave in the past? Thanks!

- Bob

I dont know much about the settings, but I also like the precision setting for the same design. I just want to stay away from a channel setting. The engagement ring is 2.5mm and I''de like the wedding band to be around the same.

Does WF offer a matching band to the Sleek Line Pave? Use the link tool if you can so we can see what you mean by Precision setting.

Horizontally or vertically set baguettes?

I''m not generally a fan of channel set, but baguette bands are the exception for me. I love channel set baguette bands. It has to have THIIIIIN edges, though.

Anyway, you said that you don''t want channel-set, the main reason I posted that is so you could have a visual for the vertical vs. horizontal baguettes. Most people are thinking of horizontal, but vertical has become very popular in recent years (thanks in part to Tom and Kate Cruise) so I figured I''d ask.

If you were happy with the WF eng. ring, why not ask them to create the wedding band for you?

I have a tiffany channel set baguette wedding band which I love. It doesn't look like a channel set at all. I have notice a similar ring on Lord of Gem Rings. You might want to check them out here.

Their settings seem popular with some of the people here.

And where may those be found???

Lauren the Partier has 2 baguette bands she wears with her ring, but I think she got them locally:

How about a three stone band with baguettes like this one? Most of the ones I've seen are estate pieces, but I'll poke around if it's something you like.

The facets half eternity channel set band is in your price range, but is also platinum and not prong set. Facets used to do gobs of custom work and sold things in gold, so it might be worth emailing them for a quote.

ETA: The only band I've seen like what you're looking for is this amazing little number. But it's platinum. And over budget. And mine as soon as I save up about another 5k

.

ETAA: Duh, WF has a bag band, though I'd ask about a three stone instead of the 6 pictured, and maybe not tapered bags for the look you're after. The stock one is within your budget.

I love Facet's ring. Thats pretty much exactly what we were looking for with the thin band and the horizontal set baguettes. I dont know much about the settings apparently, because I assumed channel set implied wide edges. If Facets offered the ring in 18k white gold (which meant a little cheaper also) I would buy it for sure. Thanks for the link to the WF band. I didnt see that while browsing earlier.

Try contacting Facets though their quotes page, they''re still listing 18k WG on there.

The Facets band is a channel set half eternity, it''s just a little daintier than some channel set bands can be. The Leon that I posted is prong set. The style of the facets ring is pretty common, if they can''t make one, we can certainly try to find you another one, or you can see if WF will make one.

Happy hunting!

No clue, I found them in a google image search quite awhile ago and posted them in this thread:

...as an example of my opinion of channel-set done "right." I love channel-set square or rectangle stones when the edge is very thin, like sparklestick's!

Arrrghh... Asscher-deprivation is setting in... (I'm so-so for brilliants, but I adore step cuts, and Asschers in particular)

Thanks all the same, Musey!

Oh, and I entirely agree. Channel-set needs to be thin. Actually, I think most metalwork needs to be thin. Or unseen.

I ADORE the Blue Nile Asscher band, I have it favorited and drool over it often!

Thank you for your help. I contacted Facets and i''m waiting for a response.
