You''re lucky your dad is there to help. Can''t wait to see the finished product. I''m sorry you had to deal with all this work, but hopefully it''ll be all worth it in the end. Hang in there, Ame!

LOL...Looks like lots of fun. I had the same tile pattern but at least with black and ivory LOL... Well, it''s definitely coming along!

Those are great pics ame. Looks like Ryan and your dad are doing a great job!!! Can''t wait to see it once it''s finished!!

Oh my, Ame...what a HUGE job!

Do you have another bathroom that you can use while you do the work? I thought you said that you only had one bathroom?

We have one more toilet downstairs--that''s an odd situation--its a powder room that houses ONLY a toilet! So bizzarre. But we draped plastic tarps around the shower so we could use it, and we are now showering at my folks as my dad took all the stuff off the wall. :) So...either we can stink and skip a day or go to my parents. But we do have a facility :)

Are you going to retile those walls or just put up sheetrock? Please don''t forget to post ''after'' pics. I am sure it has been alot of work but it will be worth it in the end!

We are going to be putting up concrete board I think and then tiling pretty much up to or just past where it was before. My dad is wavering a little on whether to tear it ALL down though and just put wallboard/concreteboard up and paint or whatever in the spots we don''t tile because it''s all plaster over wallboard/mesh where there''s no tile..ugh it''s so gross.

Tomorrow my dad and I are going to buy the wallboard stuff and maybe the tile. Not sure what all we''ll buy.

Last night we bought the fixtures for the shower, and the hardibacker board. We were looking at concrete board, wonderboard, etc. and the guy (who for a home depot employee knew a LOT of stuff about this and usually the guys that work there don't know much) suggested this for the lack of mess and ease of work. He told my dad not to do concrete board when compared to these two. So we bought enough hardibacker for the shower, we will go back and buy the rest later. Our concern is to get the shower fully functional.

I picked this out for the shower fixtures:
Delta Faucet

We might order it online and return what we bought to Home Depot since I can get it online like half price. We paid $240, and I just found it at like $120.

MORE BUMPY!!! Tile is all on the walls. I spotted one thing that needs fixed above the lightswitch by the door, I have kind of a hole there...oh well can be filled.

The floor will happen either tomorrow or Saturday. We are going to start grouting tonight and hopefully two of us will finish it.

the showerhead wall, with cool example of tricky tile work

And the sink wall. Also tricky tiling

It''s all taking shape now Ame, I went through this last year with our bathroom, that was a major overhaul and the floor needed raising, we did all the work ourselves. It was so worth it though, the bathroom now looks great

Wow you and Ryan have done a great job. The tile looks great. A lot of work but it''s so worth it huh??

Thanks. More like me, Ryan and MY DAD. :) Ryan specializes in CUTTING tile, and demo.

Tonight my dad might bypass grouting and start the floor. We'll grout one on Sat and the other Sunday...I guess.

It really looks great! I''ve been wondering how it was coming...and tell hubby nice job mitering those corner pieces! :)

It''s looking great. My FI is also in the process of redoing all out bathrooms. He finished our guest bathroom and now is working on the powder room (though ours has a sink and toliet

) He''ll tackle our master bath after thanksgiving. It is very annoying to live with the dust but it helps to imagine the value you are adding to your home [$$)] Baths and kitchens always sell the house. I cannot wait to see your finished pics!

It''s looking great, Ame!

I love the tile you chose!

Thanks all, they are grouting it now. Hopefully tomorrow Ill be snapping more photos. My dad is coming over at 8am tomorrow to lay some tile on the floor, WOOT!

ALL the tile is done being laid. Tomorrow night I will touch up the grout on the walls that I feel needs refilling, then MAYBE Ill grout the floor, maybe. If not it will be MOnday night. Then after it''s set and cured Ill seal it. I am thinking we should avoid using it till we get back from Thanksgiving vacation on Sunday....

Ame - The new tile looks fantastic! Great job!

Thanks, tomorrow Ill take photos again. I wanted to wait till it was all grouted.
