This isn''t the prettiest sunset, but the ferry in the photo is the one I use to ride when I lived over on one of the islands (not san juans as posted above).

So many of these pictures bring rest to my soul. Here's one from my lanai (covered porch) I recently took. Love that porch.

The picture does not depict the true colors which had more red and pink in it than it shows. January has always had the most beautiful combo of colors here in the country. Down at the ocean level it's different all together. Usually fiery and bold. Here in the country it seems softer, yet pleasing to the eye.

Michelle and WS, great series of sunsets you posted. Michelle that mt. ranier one should be in a magazine. Websailor, Zion is on my list of must-see-someday places. GREAT photos.

That would be because the sun rises in the East and sets in the West.

have you ever seen a movie where the people are supposed to be on the East Coast and they have a sunset scene over the water? it''s really funny...I know I''ve seen this movie boo boo but can''t think of the film...?

I know that movie Jennifer, or maybe there is more than one. I recall commenting on that to Greg. Geography was never my strong point though (I only learned N/S/E/W since dating Greg!) so maybe I was wrong.

Greg was so appalled that I did not know my directions as well as have a horrible lack of knowledge of things such as countries, areas etc...I told him here in CA they taught us Earthquake Preparedness instead of Geography class!

Here are a couple of sunset photos I took in Maui. I had been pestering my bf for months to book our trip to Maui. One day he calls me at work late friday afternoon and says, "I booked our trip!" I get excited and ask, "omg! when are we going? next month?" And he says, "even better! we leave sunday!" me, "you mean like in 2 days??? I''m supposed to tell work that I''m not going to be in for a week and a half starting monday?"

Yup, that''s my boyfriend. He''s lucky I''m so easy going!

I grew up in Washington State. Sea level to ski level in 30 minutes. These images are all breathtaking.
