Best to buy engraved new or send a plain band?

I have been wanting an RG engraved band. I have two plain 2mm 14k rose gold bands already and I was thinking maybe it would be better to send my ring to someone to engrave? Is that the right thinking? Does anyone know approx how much someone charges to do this? Do you recommend any of our vendors? Any pics?

Is it best just to buy new?
