Ahhh ... Just curious, but why wouldn’t the ring be cast with the prongs already ‘built in’ vs. adding them afterward? :confused:

I’m assuming they wouldn’t be able to get the diamond in the setting with them ‘built-in’?

That’s what I’m assuming based on the inspiration pics. The prongs seem very horizontal in relation to the stone

Her color is sublime! I knew she would be.
I’m so glad you got her this is exactly what she needed to look amazing and I would have never had the balls to not halo her lol
 
When I compare it to the last insta photo- I much prefer the matte look

I’m so sorry to hear about your pup, MTG! I hope he has as little pain and discomfort as possible in the coming months, and I hope that you are okay too. Please let me know if I can be of any help. I love animals generally and dogs specifically, and had a wonderful dog a few years back that my ex took on their way out. He’s doing well and very happy, but even that was challenging. Beau sounds like a perfect name for your new ring. Sending you lots and lots of dust and love to work and get through this time.

I agree, there’s also something more vintage to be about the matte which I think works with this antique inspired setting. Thanks so much for helping me find the right home for her!

Haha that’s funny, one of the reasons I shy away from halos is that I can be klutzy and don’t feel brave enough to wear them often!

Haha I know right? It’s extra aggravating to know it’s so close but so far! Lol. I told my jeweler I’d be in her neck of the woods Wednesday morning so I’m hoping to pick it up then.

Maybe? I emailed yesterday and she wasn’t sure. Apparently the prongs are a bit trickier than she was anticipating and (thankfully) she wants to get them right which may take a bit more time. I’m still cautiously optimistic it will only be a few more days. I don’t know anything about metal work or setting physics so I don’t know what needs to happen. Fingers crossed!

Me neither!!!! It’s killing me. Luckily I’m busy with work and my parents visiting so I’m not just hovering around my inbox all day hoping for news.

So sorry about Beau, MTG. Saying goodbye to our furbabies is such an unexplainable pain. It’s comforting that - while no replacement - you’ll have a beautiful reminder of him that you can reflect on every time you look at it, and think about fond memories with him. (Hugs)
 
So I was in the neighborhood for a morning meeting and decided to drop off left over banana bread to my jeweler.

Got a sneak peak! The prongs are on but need thinning and polishing. She was like “don’t stress, they aren’t polished yet” lol. They are looking a bit rough and bulky since they need a polishing but the overall look is definitely there! Phew.
 
Oh my, I’ve been a way too long and you have quite the collection MTG! Can’t wait to see this come to life and on your finger!

It’s not everyone’s style but I wanted a hand made Georgian inspired ring that was a bit rustic looking to be more true to roots.
