Hey, at least the diamond won't fall out. It's sturdy, I'll give it that! I think it's the standard acme cathedral plat setting.

I too had a six-claw head on my setting before I recently upgraded the setting to what you see in my avatar. For some reason, my six-prong came to look rather dangerous to me -- like a self defense weapon

. It wasn't until I came to PS that I found that a six prong can look much, much more sophisticated and refined than the acme version (LOL). As for recycling, our solution -- due to the sentimental value of the ring he used to propose -- we chose to put his birthstone in place of the diamond so I can wear it as a RHR. That's one way to recycle the setting. A more literal way to recycle your platinum temp setting is to put it toward an anniversary band of some sort some day. (Assuming a qualified platinum jeweler is willing to melt it down. I don't see why not.)

All I can say looking at the new pics is WOW!!!!!

Hehehe thanks I changed my avatar pic but he is definitely fat and fluffy when he comes back from getting shaved at the vet he tends to smell like marshmallow so yummy, I just want to nom him .

Sorry Bliss I missed this question before

but I am fairly partial to solitaires (so really I am biased) especially stunning, yummmy, big stones in a simple setting. Your diamond is breathtaking enough to stand on it''s own and say I''M HERE LOOK AT ME I AM BEAUTIFUL that said if you both saw loved loved the look of halo''s and it made you both swooon I personally would put that as a top contender for a reset .

I think whatever you both decide it will look beautiful .
