BGD bracelet glamour shot

What an elegant design, the single stone looks perfect on your wrist. Definitely worth the wait!!

thank you enerchi and roxy! It will be nice once the weather gets warm and I don't have to wear long sleeves and coats all the time, I'll be able to see it much better!

YT, it is sparkly - even upside down. But you can't see the pretty milgrain.

MC, thanks! The stone is .230. It's 3.91 x 3.94. Just a wee baby... :-) Denise said anything over .20 would look really nice, so that's why I chose the one I did!
Wowza! That's a 20 pointer? It looks huge!!!

YT, funny how in photos it does look larger than it is in real life! It's a nice size though. My daughter said the bracelet is too big (not the stone, but the chain) but I think it might be ok. I have small wrists, so I probably should have had it made at 6.5 or 6.75 instead of 7 inches. My husband hasn't been able to see it on me yet, but I'll see if he thinks I should send it back to have it shortened a little. I've almost talked myself into sending my studs back to have them set like this. I am in love with the milgrain!

A couple more photos - one of the bracelet length - what do you all think - too long?

And a picture of the stone turned upside down - still sparkly!

It's personal preference, but that's too long for me.

I'd have to say that would be too long for my taste as well and I'd worry about it snagging on something. Shouldn't be a big issue for a local jeweller to shorten it, would it?

Thanks Ms P and Enerchi. I'm worried about it snagging too. I guess I could have it done locally but I'm scared it'll get screwed up...

fire off an email or call BGD and see what they'd recommend. If its just a matter of opening up the little 'hook' on the clasp, that doesn't seem like it would be a problem (what do I know? ) but if it is more than that to shorten and cut off chain, then it would be worth the time to ship it back and have it done right the first time.
I know its so hard to part with something you've been waiting for... but once it's fixed, it never has to 'travel' again! :))

I emailed Denise and she said I could send it back for them to do it. I'll feel better doing that. I've had terrible luck with local jewelers. I just need to figure out what length to make it. I'll probably have them take a quarter inch off the length. Don't want it to be tight at all!

This is super easy to find out what you prefer --- tie a few pieces of string around your wrist at different lengths and see which appeals to you - for the 'fall' (by that I mean the "DIP" that happens when you lift your arm) and how far down your wrist you prefer it to sit. Just from your pic, my guess is probably 1/2" - 1" less may work well for you.

Enerchi, funny you mention the string method. I measured out a 7" piece of string before I ordered the bracelet and thought it would be fine. Ha! I will do this again tonight though before I send it back. Also, do you think the round clasp is too big? I wondered if they made it big to counter balance the stone?

I think it is the standard BGD size - you may want to ask Denise when you tell her what length you want. If there is a smaller one, it would be nice because it may look more delicate... But if it can't be changed, I would not worry - the diamond is the star of the show anyway!! :D

Such a gorgeous bracelet! From the picture I would want at least an inch removed. I don't like when bracelets slip up past midarm.

Enerchi, I'll ask about a smaller one - it might look better. Rosebloom, I don't like bracelets to slip around much either but don't want to make it too tight either! It looks super long in that photo. I think in reality, it might need a half inch taken off. Thanks for the suggestions!

Enerchi's right, if you'd like a smaller clasp you could ask for one, but if they don't have one don't worry it's not taking away from your diamond AT ALL.

I couldn't believe how sparkly it was UPSIDE DOWN ... that's fantastic!!! It looks so pretty, I'd bet BGD would start putting milgrain on the "back" of the bezel since the diamonds look good either way. Then the bracelet can "flip" all it wants ... front-BAM, back-BAM ... !!!

Roxy!! how clever!! :appl: Milgrain on the front AND the back!! --- you should share that idea with them - who knows, it could become the new standard!!

It's beautiful Katie!! The size works really well on you, and I like the single stone look a lot too

They do flip like crazy - I've actually considered sending it back to have milgrain added to the undersides just like Roxy suggested!! I actually think this is a great idea - definitely something to think about!

Thanks Yssie! (LOVE your new bangle by the way...)

I haven't put it in the mail yet - waiting on Denise for some more info, but maybe I'll ask her what it would cost to milgrain the underside - and if I find out, I'll share back here what the chare would be!

Update: $75 to milgrain the under side. Great idea - I'm not gonna do it (don't need to spend the money in addition to sending it back and paying shipping/insurance both ways) but I love the idea!

WOW! $75? - that's totally reasonable and overall, for the length of ownership of your bracelet, it isn't that much really... Maybe you'll change your mind by the time it arrives at BGD... it would look amazing!!

Thanks Enerchi & Yssie! I'm glad it's something they're willing to do, especially since a lot of folks have the same issue with "flipping". :))

Katie thanks for letting us know the cost. It'd be so cool if they could do it for you, it would definitely look fantastic. I think yours would be the first right? How neat is that?!

I'm guessing mine would be the first. But I really don't have the funds to do that right now. :-( Cool though that they can do it!

Oh wow, that's awesome!! Thanks for sharing the cost - I imagine that's something future buyers might be really interested in ::)

Hi, Katie! I cant believe I have not seen your post earlier..your bracelet turned to be very beautiful! I see it is(was) a tad longer on your wrist..did you end up shortening it? Also, do you find this size of a diamond is a bit uncomfortable on a wrist, does it poke? I am thinking very hard what to get for my upcoming birthday this year, and dbty braceletis one of my favorites. :naughty:

Hi Efriede, I did have it shortened to 6.5" and the diamond is not uncomfortable. I hope you get one and share photos!

  I LOVE IT! It's so beautiful, yet elegant and understated - just my kind of thing!
