BlueNile Cushion H&A

Hi,

I've been lurking for a while, and the discussions on this board have been very helpful during my search for an engagement ring for my future fiance. We've looked at a lot of different cuts to get an idea of what she likes. We did get a chance to go out to GOG and she loved the AVC and the cushion hearts and arrows. I've been leaning towards the chunky cushion, because it seems like they face up larger than the H&A, so I've been in contact with GOG and ERD waiting for the ideal stone. I believe GOG will be putting new AVC's on the site soon and ERD will let me know what they have in the near future.

On to the purpose of this thread. I checked out BlueNile recently and they have a line of cushion H&A, at great prices and the stones seem to face up larger than other cushion H&A I've seen. What do you all think of these stones? Will they perform as well as GOG, BGD cushion H&A?

Very interesting. I never check Blue Nile but on paper .. the diamond number looks good. I would check out the inclusions to make sure they aren't eye visible. I really wish they have a real picture of these diamonds.

Congratulations! The diamond looks great, and I agree with having them check to make sure it's eye clean. When I look at the report it doesn't look like the diamond has the larger older faceting though. Without a picture, cushions a very difficult to buy.

Thank you for the replies. I went ahead and reserved the diamond, because it seems like a great deal. I'll find out if it's eye-clean on Monday. If so, the stone should be delivered Tuesday or Wednesday. At that point I'll try to post pictures to see what you think.

Quick update:

Although I was initially excited about the stone, considering the size (l/w), numbers, and cost, I ended up cancelling the order after talking to my gf about the two cuts again. She seems to prefer the chunky cushion look. I actually prefer it as well, but the numbers got the best of me temporarily, and I got overly excited.

I did talk to a rep at blue nile, and the only comment they had on the actual look, was that I could see the actual image on the GCAL report.

Signature Line with Blue Nile is all eyeclean. So I think you are good on that score. Fingers crossed you love it in real life.

PLEASE post pictures of that stone, I have been dying to know what they look like in person.
