Bogus DB inquiry? Other than the bad grammar...

Hi! It’s on its way to me by Fedex - will be returning to sender on receipt - not even going near a bank with it.

Ask for a wire transfer...:wink2:

But, then don’t you have to exchange banking account info?

Trust me, I thought it - but that was my hitch :-)

Yes,but with wire transfer the money can only come in never go out. No different than you wiring the $$$ to a vendor for a purchase. You can't withdraw money from the vendor's account.

Out of curiosity, where is the Fedex envelope being sent from (city/state)?

Maryland

(sorry, missed request on City - I think it was Carrolton)

Interesting. I got the scammer to tell me that the bank the cashier's check would be drawn off of was Synovus and they don't even have branches in Maryland: https://www.synovus.com/locations/

You typically need to physically go into a branch to get a cashier's check issued.

That is interesting, and yes, I also understand you have to go to a branch. I'm really glad this thread was started.

Check arrived - Did not endorse or deposit - Returned to sender.

No, it wasn't even a cashiers check. I returned to sender, and subsequently learned it was a check from a company whose information was stollen. Scam confirmed.
