I'm glad you're back at exercising! Sorry about the weight loss setbacks. Have you already bought your dress?
 
No dress yet, thankfully.

I'm going to drive to Oregon to get it from the Brides Against Breast Cancer. Should save me lots of money AND help cancer research :appl:

I need to start looking and trying stuff on to get a better idea of what I want pretty soon. I'd like to get to a reasonable weight at least a few weeks out to allow time for tailoring and then just maintain.

I'm down 3 pounds in 3 days so hoping this will get me moving the right direction again. Not something I'll sustain but maybe every 3rd day or something? I've been sticking to < 1000 calories per day for the last 4 days. Mostly in the form of veggies (so I haven't been hungry) and protein.

It's been a crazy few weeks and I'm sad to say it hasn't been positive in the weight loss department. I was at a work conference in Portland for a week and indulged in so many amazing things that I'm up a whole lot! :( As you can see...skipping 4 weeks of weigh ins was NOT good for success. Back.on.track. We have 3 months and 2 days until the wedding and it's time to get serious.

Gah. I hate to post this but I promised myself I'd stay accountable and update this thread. We were good alllllllll week, but ended up having a family dinner out with my future in laws the night before weigh in. I'm *hoping* the gain is mostly from the heavy meal eaten the night before and not a true testament of our progress for the whole week, but I'm upset nonetheless. It's just always one thing after another (I have my sister's bridal shower/bachelorette this coming weekend...yikes). We are committed to getting our weight under control, though, and with only 86 days to the wedding (eek!), we are hoping to maintain our focus, motivation, and drive. This week -- up 0.8 lbs.

I read this thread sometimes because it's inspiring. You have done a phenomenal job. Loosing almost 30 pounds is extremely difficult. And some weeks your body is just not letting to of the pounds like others. But please don't feel bad - rather celebrate how amazing you are to have come so far already! You really are an inspiration!

Aww, thank you Rosebloom! It's hard not to get down on yourself when you feel like you're doing "good" and it's just not showing on the scale! FI and I went for a swim tonight instead of eating dessert. Small victories. We are trying! He has lost closer to 40 lbs and I'm hanging it right on the 30 mark. We both have around 30 more pounds to go and it seems so daunting, but your post just made my night! :))
 
Had a better week! Down 5 lbs. Moving back in the right direction. Weighed in Saturday morning and then had a rough weekend (my sister's bridal shower and bachelorette dinner/night out...). Hopefully that didn't undo too much of the good work we did last week, but next weigh in will really tell I guess. Keep moving forward!

I didn't realize I missed last week! My sister's shower slowed me down I think. Lost 1 lb that week. This week was actually up 2.4. Getting seriously frustrated by trying not to let it derail me. Just keep swimming...on a happier note! I bought a dress for my sister's wedding (less than 3 weeks to go!) and had been around a Size 14 the last several times I bought a dress. I figured I'd lost weight, so I picked up a 12 and it zipped! The dressing rooms were crazy so I couldn't show FI easily, but bought it and went home. The straps are a bit off the shoulder so I tried it on with my strapless bra when I got home for him to see it. He tells me it's too big. I was like, what do you mean? And he starts grabbing all the extra fabric in the top. I didn't even realize. I was just so happy it closed! We went back this weekend I exchanged it for a Size 10 which fit PERFECTLY! I was shocked. So close to single digit sizes I can taste it. There's my motivation for the upcoming few weeks. Screw the scale. Something's working.

Thanks Aud! Some weeks are better than others... you know how it goes. Overall, I have totally changed the way I am eating and I am feeling pretty good. I still have cheat days too! :naughty: I can feel my body start to plateau a bit now at the 150 mark so I am sure it will be slow going forward. Also about 20 lbs was leftover baby weight-- my daughter is 5! Ooops.

Anyway, I think you are doing wonderfully as well! It doesnt matter what the scale says, its all about how you feel and how the clothes fit! I am here for support anytime you need it! :bigsmile:
 
That's great! FI and I are definitely trying to focus on making positive changes and just enjoying the results. Focusing on "being on a diet" all the time is exhausting and so not fun. I have been able to stick in this 158-165 range easily, even when being bad. But I have been stuck at trying to get below 158 and stay there for over a year.This is the range I've been having a hard time breaking through. I cannot wait to see something in the 140s...even if it's just 149.9!

Hi Ladies!

I'm happy to report that as of this morning, I am down 10.8 pounds since I started my new regime! Which means 10.8 pounds from my highest weight. I'm super excited! Once I lose a bit more I might start posting check-ins here for weekly weigh-in's. :bigsmile:

Your post prompted me to post my update from this weekend. A loss, which is good! Only .8 from my previous low and then we'll see what I can accomplish in the next few weeks before having to get my dress altered! I'm hoping to be out of the 150s for the wedding day and anything more would make me SQUEE!

Are any of you on myfitnesspal? If so let me know so I can add you as friends! I intend to be strict about my new diet and exercise plan and having to check in with one another and someone to vent to... helps!!!

I had my first ever pilates class on Saturday on the reformer machine they have. I didn't realize how much I pushed my "core" muscles. My entire abdomen area was SO sore on Sunday.

Aww, thanks! There are days when I feel like nothing is happening...but then there are days when I wake up feeling skinnier and those days help me push on! Thanks for the encouragement and support in here, ladies!
 
As of this morning I'm officially 12.2lbs down. I lost about 1.4 pounds since my last weigh in 6 days ago.

I don't feel skinnier really... but my jeans that were feeling tight don't feel as tight anymore if that makes any sense. I also don't feel as out of breath as I did when I first started exercising. That's a pretty awesome feeling! Now when I walk fast I get endorphins and want to walk faster or run versus being out of breath!
 
Way to go maple! When losing weight, I never found the first 10-15 lbs to feel much different except for slightly looser clothes like you're describing. Just wait, another 5-10 and you'll really start to feel a difference in how you look! Keep it up!
 
Boooo. Only 1 pound. I cant believe how much slower it comes off the closer I get to my goal weight. Makes sense I guess. BUT! I am in the 140's for the first time since my freshman year of college!!! :appl:

I really want a bezel pendant and decided that I'm going to allow myself to buy it ONLY after I hit the first 30 lbs lost... which I'm 18 pounds away from. After that I still have another 30 lbs to go to be back to my ideal weight BUT I figured getting halfway there deserves a present!

You better believe every time I see unhealthy food at work (they cater in free breakfast and lunch everyday... it's delicious but SO bad for you) I am going to start thinking of my pendant and walk away!!!
