Gah! My sister's wedding festivities from Friday through today did NOT bode well for my weight. I checked in this AM to see how things were going and I was up to 158 after just 2 days! I know a lot of that is bloat/water weight, but yikes!! I hate that! Right back on the good bandwagon. I wish we'd been able to make better choices, but with all our meals provided throughout the trip, we had to eat what was there and it was all way OFF our diet plan. Sigh. My official weigh ins are Saturday so we'll see where I'm back to come this weekend. Feeling frustrated. ;(
 
It's okay, Aud- it probably is some water weight and bloat. Forget about it and start over this week and I am keeping my fingers crossed for some results for you. I totally understand how frustrating that can be. You've done so well though! Keep it up! :appl:
 
Thanks, AS! I know it's not all real weight gain, but it's so disheartening to see! I'm already down part of it and it's only Tuesday, so here's hoping by the weekend I can be back to where I was before my sister's wedding! :wacko:

After going from 154.2 at last Friday's weigh in, to 158 on Sunday post-sister's wedding...I wasn't terribly disappointed to be at 154.0 at this week's weigh in. We managed to undo all the damage of the weekend and a teensy bit more.

We were a bit bad with food this weekend though -- not sure how that'll play out this week.

Hey guys! I think it's time for me to join this thread. We are about 12 months out from the wedding and I am going dress shopping soon.

I have really cleaned up my eating and it has made such a difference! I am eating lots more veggies and watching my portion sizes much more as well. I am actually not counting calories or fat grams or anything. I do try to eat more protein so that I stay fuller, and I do eat a little snack mid-morning since my lunch break at work is so late. It's so great that I have finally found a system that works and that I can easily live with. I'm not really making any sacrifices or cutting major food groups out and if I want something, like chocolate or chips, I will eat it, just in moderation.

Now that I have the food part down, I'm trying to get the exercise portion in because I know that will just boost my weight loss, plus I really want to tone up. FI wakes up about an hour before I do, so if I just wake up with him, I have plenty of time to get in a work out.

So, here's my numbers:

High weight: 164.0 lb
Current weight: 154.2 lb

Also, audball, you have been doing amazing with your weight loss journey!!

You have done AMAZING! I've been working at this since August 2010 and it's been more than three years. You have managed to lose since you started what I've managed to do in that much time. My official Saturday weigh in was pretty good! 153.6! Only .6 up from my lowest and down from the previous week. I weighed this morning to see how much damage I saw after my bridal shower on Saturday and a weekend of in-town guests....yikes. It's nearly 5 lbs up from my previous low of 153. I'm hoping a good bit of that finds its way off this week :errrr:

I have been pretty bad the past 2 weeks with so many darn parties and after work events. I was very sad earlier this week when I weighed myself and I was up 3 LBS!!! And it wasn't a special period week or anything. ;(

Honestly... I feel like I have a cookie and it goes straight to my gut or ass! I have always been like this. :((

Back to a strict diet! :angryfire:

I could have written this! Argh. I was exactly 153 when I dropped my dress off for alterations 2 weeks ago. I told myself anything between 150-155 would be fine to keep the fit pretty much the same. My official weigh ins are on Saturday (so this one doesn't "count" yet!), but this morning I was 156 even so that's not far off from the top of my range and only 3 up from my lowest. Considering all the food I've had at these parties...it's better than I expected. We have only one more event between us and our own wedding (a friend's wedding, on Saturday) and I'm hoping we manage to be ok (though I doubt we can since we have to travel several hours each way and dinner will be barbecue and, of course, wedding cake! Gah. I just hope my dress fits when I pick it up on 10/22. Only 13 days to go for me!
 
So sorry I didn't update! My laptop was out of commission for a couple weeks and it finally got fixed!

October 5: 155.7
October 12: 154.5

So, I'm still pretty much where I was before. I weigh in again tomorrow and I will come back to post my newest number. I'm really hoping for 153 because I watched what I ate and I exercised more than usual. I guess we will see!

I'm down from the 5 lb gain I saw immediately after my shower last Saturday (from the next day's weigh in)...but with an additional surprise bridal shower mid-week, and a few other parties before Saturday's weigh in, my official weigh in from this Saturday has me up 3 lbs from last week and 3.6 lbs from when I dropped my dress off for alterations. After Saturday's weigh in, we attended a wedding and on Sunday we had a family birthday dinner. I weighed this morning and while it's not my official weigh in, I'm currently 4.8 up from dress drop-off weight (157.8) ;( ....drinking water like it's going out of style today. I pick up my dress tomorrow afternoon.

I have had such crazy weekends lately I sort of forgot about my weigh ins. I did weigh in this morning and I am at 150.2. I am pretty happy with that since I haven't been too careful. Back on the bandwagon. I promise I will start weighing in again!

Weighed in this morning at 153.2. I'm a little disappointed that I gained, but I'm not too surprised. The halloween candy really got to me this week. :oops:

Agh, I forgot this is here! I've been actually trying to lose weight since getting engaged! For those of you who know me, this is a huge step! I really really can't motivate myself easy.

My goal is to lose 25 pounds by the new year (01/01/2014) with mini goals along the way.

After the new year, or when I reach the 28 pound weight-loss goal (whichever comes last), I'm going to have to consider a change. I always plateau, get chummy, then gain it all back after reaching x weight. This plan is awfully progressive and wishful, so I won't kill myself if I don't reach my goals completely… but I am hoping to stick close to the goals. FI wishes to see me at the weight when I first met him, but making him the reason for anything hasn't worked. So I have a few dresses that I adore in my closet that I'm wishing to fit in. My goal is to ultimately lose 48 pounds by the wedding. I hate exercise and I live a very sedentary lifestyle as a graduate student on my butt at a desk all day. I wasn't calorie counting much for the last few weeks, but just watching what I eat, and eating small snacks all the time. My history is skipping breakfast, eating one largish late lunch whenever I have the time, and usually skipping dinner, filling hungry moments with whatever I'm craving. I've gained 30 pounds in the last 2 years of undergrad by doing this! :errrr:

I'm going to start dress shopping in March, during my spring break, so I hope to have lost at least 35 by then.

Madelise... we have very similar goals!!! My goal is to lose 35 pounds by March 1st (4 months from now) too when I go dress shopping, and THEN an additional 20 pounds by August 1st. That would be 3 months before the wedding AND that's when I plan to do engagement photos and alterations for the wedding dress.

Today is November 1st - officially one year before the wedding and my official diet and exercise plan starts today. I've managed to lose 15 pounds already from my highest wait but I've kind of been a slacker about it and it took me much longer than it should have.

I use to be very thin and healthy in college but 5 years ago hurt my back and could barely walk for about 3 years. That combined with a horrid desk job that kept me sitting for 10 hours a day led to heavy weight gain but I'm determined to lose it all now that my back is better and I can start exercising again!
