Hello, I'm new to the forum and found many answers here. Thanx. I'm working with Brilliance.com to purchase a beautiful engagement ring, which will be a solitaire they advertise but changing it to a 3 stone shank. I plan to select all my stones from super ideal cuts, which are supposed to be hearts and arrows 1 carat FV2 & ,2 ea .5 carat FVS2 ( all GIA).
Can I expect to get superb outcome? Ilene has been very responsive and informative. Just want other opinions before spending $20k, if I include diamond wedding bands?

Members will not comment w/o pics and more information on the cut quality.

Hi Spike and welcome!

DF is right, we would need the following in order to help you judge a diamond sold as hearts and arrows;

the diamond grading report uploaded or all the info posted-

the type of report such as GIA or AGS
cut grade
stone proportions- depth/table/crown and pavilion angles/ star and lower girdle facet percentages/ girdle thickness/diameter
colour and clarity grades and types of inclusions
comments
fluorescence grading

Images-

ASET and or Idealscope, and clear detailed images of both hearts and arrows preferably taken with a hearts and arrows viewer rather than a scanned image.

I know nothing of this vendor nor the criteria they use to evaluate a hearts and arrows diamond, or whether their h&a stones meets the strict standards top diamonds have to meet to be considered a true example of this cutting style. Therefore without a lot more info, there is no guarantee of a superb outcome. But that's not to say you won't have one, if you prefer to work with this vendor, see if they can provide the info I mentioned above then we can go from there.

Anthony at Brilliance was very helpful to me, although the stone I was going to purchase from them at the time became unavailable (I didn't ask to put it on hold or anything, I was looking at a few), I have read others who have had great experiences with them on sites like iVouch, etc. as well, I would use them in the future for sure, Anthony was incredibly helpful during my search. Good luck!

I tried browsing through the diamonds listed at Brilliance.com. It seemed that many of the diamonds listed, did not even have a copy of their GIA reports online, no less pictures.

Without crown angles, and other data available, it seems very difficult to select any diamonds for further analysis from this site.

OP, I dont know anything about Brilliance.com, just want to say that with your budget for an e ring, I d personally spend it on a big diamond at least 1.5 carat super ideal cut rather than getting 3 smaller diamonds. Just imho. Good luck with your search!

Agreed with the above poster DaisyOz about going for the one bigger diamond instead unless fiancee to be has told you she really wants a 3 stone :) You can go for a halo setting to make it appear even larger, too. Brilliance had most of the GIA reports online when they helped me and for the ones they didn't they emailed them to me that day no problem...

Welcome OP, the posters above gave you great advice, please post all information, images and certificate of the diamond for us to be able to help you. I do not know this vendor, which does not mean anything bad but perhaps it would be safer if you chose a vendor the ladies and gentlemen can recommend here. Also, you definitely want to make sure the certificate is uploaded to the site and that there are photos as well as the exact specs of the stone, otherwise you cannot make a well informed choice. In case of colorless rounds ASET, etc. would be great too. I also second the others that unless your lady would definitely prefer a 3 stone, it would be a much better idea to go with a solitaire and perhaps add small melee in the shank or have a halo design made.
