I really would like for a criminal lawyer to clarify. I can not imagine that all the evidence gathered at the scene wouldn''t be admissiable in court - since they are searching random cars - as allowed at a border. You can''t admit "hearsay" in a court as evidence- but you can, in an investigation, investigate the "hearsay".
Wasn''t that the senerio that played out w/ the Y2k LAX "bombers"? They had some sort of intelligence - and a whole lot of luck. The ringleader was convicted in our court of law.
