I love this stuff! ... as compelling as a good murder mystery!

Picture this ...
Long-forgotten old painting languishing in the attic of an estate goes to auction with an opening bid estimate of $10,000 to $15,000.

Word gets out.
Tongues wag.
Collectors do research.

A call-in bid from an anonymous European private collector sets the final price,
"$1,400,000 US.

$1.4 mil was chump change if it it really painted by the master himself.
So, was it?
Did this collector buy a winning lottery ticket?

Therein lies the rub, the mystery, the intrigue, and the beginning of the real story.:confused::confused:

Buyers do some homework
Frenzied bidding ends via a phone call with an anonymous private collector in Europe, who paid 1.4 million.
