Hi all,

My fiance would like to buy my e-ring from Whiteflash but I know he's worried about the payment because the ring may take 3 to 4 weeks to be completed.
Does anyone of you know when the payment has to be made? Is it when you confirm your order or once the ring is completed and ready to be shipped?
It would make a huge difference for him because he needs some time to gather the money for the ring from several accounts...and a payment once the ring is completed would enable him to order faster!

Thanks for your feedback!

You usually have to prepay for custom work (the setting) because the vendor cannot get that back. I say "usually" because ERD let us just put the deposit down on the diamond and didn't say anything about the full payment until they FedEx'ed the ring.

It doesn't hurt to ask if you can just pay for the setting and put a deposit on the diamond and pay the balance before it ships, but to be honest, transferring money is SO FAST these days, just tell your BF to step on it! =D

You need to prepay for them to start working on the ring, usually within 48 hours of confirming the order. I just got mine, I know :)

I've always had to pay upfront with Whiteflash, and if you wire the funds you get a better discount.

I'm not saying this would happen, but what if you commissioned a custom ring for say 5K and could only end up coming up with 4K? They couldn't eat that difference, and if custom, probably couldn't reuse the setting. It's a bummer, but it makes sense.

Good luck!

Thank you for your fast answers, I will contact them soon to see what we can work out... It's not a custom ring I'm looking for, but their Champagne setting that seems to take a bit of time to complete.

Oh, I love that setting. And Frenchcut, please keep in mind that Whiteflash has a fantastic upgrade policy. As long as you go with an in-house stone, you could trade it up at any time for the full amount less shipping. Just wanted to throw that out there, in case that was an option.

That is indeed an option as our current budget won't buy us anything above 1 carat. I'm not sure I would easily trade my diamond once I get it as it's a supposed to be the "rock" of a lifetime, but who knows... :)
