Yours is very different than the other OECs we’ve seen from them, yes. It looks more like an old mine cut to me. I do think it’s lovely, it looks like it has a glow to it which is beautiful. But yeah, not exactly sure what happened there!I think my Tianyu moissanite OEC looks more pinwheel than floral, eh? I'm guessing that there's a bunch of variation then?
This pic takes my breath away every time I look at it! *swoon*
Yeah there's something different about yours! I agree with Mrsgreeneyes. All the others I've seen are like mine.I think my Tianyu moissanite OEC looks more pinwheel than floral, eh? I'm guessing that there's a bunch of variation then?
Ok, I think something is off because their regular OEC is not a custom cut. And I helped a Redditor successfully return an OEC when he decided to go with an H&A stone for the engagement ring.Weird. I’m going to try and not let it bother me, but I have to admit, it does! Especially since when I first received the OEC I asked about returns because I didn’t love it. They said because it was a custom cut (OEC) that they wouldn’t accept a return. Oh well. Not a crazy amount of money but I think the custom route is not for me.
Mrs green eyes - love your floral stones! They look great

Did you send them pics of a stone when you requested the cut??

Well, I really like the cut of your moissy. I saw your listing has been removed, did it sell or did you decide to keep it?Yeah, I hear ya, it does seem iffy. I would’ve pushed the matter but I didn’t want to make a big ordeal out of it and I was thinking maybe I would like the stone better when set.

OH! That isn’t Tianyu!! Totally different company.
I thought it was down on LT, but apparently I’m just blind, LOL! I just went and looked and it’s still there. Thanks for saying that
It’s not a bad stone, just not what I was expecting. And turns out that 1.5ct is too big for my lifestyle.
As for selling- I’ve had some interest but no buyers yet. I think the platinum mount makes it a decent buy. Was it on LT or Ps that you see the listing down? To my knowledge, I didn’t take it down...

The Alibaba site is so freaking confusing! And they put suggested listings from other companies on the bottom of the current listing, so it is suuuuuuuper easy to navigate yourself elsewhere and not realize it. So definitely do not feel like a dope!Oh man. Mystery solved! Thanks. Hmm. I think I must’ve gotten all mixed up on alibaba. I found your Reddit thread and intended to buy from Tianyu. I feel like a dope, but at least now we know why the style is so different!!
I see your selling an OEC solitaire also- not fitting your lifestyle?

I was curious if I could be a 2ct girl or if 1.5ct really was my sweet spot, plus I wanted to make sure I liked the Tiffany setting in person as much as I did in my daydreams. Turns out I do love the Tiff setting (which is good because my DK project is based off of it) but 2ct is too big for me. So instead of letting that beauty languish in my jewelry box I put her up for sale. Tianyu’s Tiffany setting was out-freaking-standing, though. I was really, really tempted to keep it. To say I’m excited to get cracking on the DK setting would be an understatement - I can’t wait!
You are so sweet, thank you for the kind words! That makes sense!
Man, I wish I knew you in real life. You are so nice and we could talk about gems all day! Can’t wait to see your completed DK project!
Gorgeous! How's the fire in that cut? What color quality did you get again?
Not sure if I've missed it, but has anyone gotten a rose cut on here/any fancy colors (blue-green, champagne, etc)? I'd love to see them. <3
My special step cut came today. I like it very much but the pics are crap. It is not glassy looking IRL but my lighting right now stinks since it is dusk. Maybe better ones tomorrow. The cut is very nice and symmetrical with nice flashes under a spot light. The color is good and I ordered an F/G. I am including a pic of it next to my GIA L diamond in it's VC setting. It will be a fine stone to put in my empty solitaire setting. I also took a small video.
I tried to hold a light in my mouth and film while moving. Not easy but here is my attempt at a spotlight video.
Here is the fancy yellow cuts from Tianyu and the 2nd one is the champagne....although it looks a bit more brown.

Thanks for sharing! I’ve seen some greens on Emily’s instagram that look, but none that are paler. I’m hoping they just wanted to show off the more vibrant ones. Here is the fancy yellow cuts from Tianyu and the 2nd one is the champagne....although it looks a bit more brown.

I’m glad it has been helpful! And I completely understand being wary, I very cautiously dipped my toe when I first ordered from them and even then considered it money lost until proven otherwise. And I 100% agree with you - the PayPal protection is very, very helpful! Thankfully I’ve never had to use that option, but I still like having the reassurance of it.I love this.. now I'm very much looking forward to mine. Thanks again for all your help! I was a bit sketched about the process but everyone's threads help a ton. Also, PayPal protection is very helpful as well!
Oh, crud! I never posted it? Whoops! But yes, I’ve had my pendant for over a week now and I love it! It’s an 8x5mm F color antique oval set east/west in a 14k white gold bezel setting.
I had it delivered to my hotel whilst on vacation, so I didn’t have the best lighting for pics. I’ll try to take some better ones once I get home.
