Maybe we should make this thread a sticky...It might keep us all on track

I''m doing pretty good on the health front. The only person getting their butt kicked so far is me

. Trainer is harder than anything I''ve ever done!! But I''m seeing results already and at the end of the day that''s all that matters right?

Steph: As far as carbs go...I always thought that good carbs were ok if you were working out consistantly, which it sounds like you are. As long as your not eating a loaf of white bread in the morning you should be ok right? I thought fruit was good...

Luv: Sounds like your on track too!! That''s great. I can never figure out how to fast forward through the previews on any DVD. Maybe use the time to work on some extra stretches?
I think you are right - in general carbs are good fuel for your body. My problem is more with refined flour carbs - which have little nutritional value and are high in calories. I''ve been hitting the vending machine hard, as well as snacking on pretzels and baked goods and other stuff like that when I get home and my body was starting to crave all that junk. By cutting way back on it I''m hoping to stop the cravings and still be able to enjoy a treat of it occasionally.

Glad to hear you are getting your butt kicked - I''m sure it will lead to the reverse situation soon.

Hey there ladies!
ILTS, consistency is hard for me as well. I either have to do it every single day, or it's over. Something I definitely need to work on. I hope that after the wedding is over, I will have a little more time on my hands and it will cool off a bit outside. The only thing that usually EVER works for me is a trainer with a set schedule or a workout buddy with a serious guilt trip

.

I still haven't had caffine, so I'm at exaclty 3 weeks on that. I used to have 3 or 4 cans a day. I had only had water up until this weekend, and then I caved and had a Sprite Zero (still no caffine

), but I've been back to water since Sunday afternoon. I don't think I've really noticed a difference, but I feel like it's better for me so I'll keep it up. The 30 day shred has been kind of difficult to keep up, because with it being so hot outside here, when I walk into my air conditioning, I just want to collapse on the couch. I have been playing softball once a week, but that ends tomorrow. My goal is to finish the week with 30 DS and then maybe take it home with. I have switched back to Healthy Choice meals for lunch at work. They are usually about 300-400 calories, and at $3.75 a piece are MUCH less expensive than any meal downtown at anywhere between $6-$15. So there's that...

I was back in my hometown from Friday thru Sunday. Before I left, all last week I was right around 132-134, and then this morning I weighed myself and I was 138

. I'm not really sure what happened? No excess eating. I guess it might just be some extra bloating since my monthly visitor should be here this week (hopefully).

With the wedding coming up, I really need to get my act in gear, I just worry that going home for the entire week before hand, I'm going to be on a different schedule again and my body might do some weird things again, like this last weekend.

They just handed out cake at work, and I repectfully declined

ETA:
Steph and AMS, Congratulations!! You both sound like you are doing really well!!

Step: that makes sense about the snacking. For sure you want to avoid simple sugars as much as possible. Whenever I hear "I''m trying to stay away from carbs" I truely wonder if people know what they''re really trying to avoid...If that makes sense. I have a friend who takes the "no carb" diet to the extreme...I have a mind association when someone says they''re watching their carbs I automatically think of this friend and how unhealthy she is

Mer: I can totally relate to you about the trainer or a buddy...Me getting a trainer was my last resort b/c I couldn''t find a workout buddy....or I didn''t have a good enough guilt trip...one of the two.

I also think you''re probably right with carrying around some extra bloating before your "visitor". I carry water weight for sure around that time...and I''m at my "skinniest" (at least it looks and feels like it) about a day or two once I''m done. I wouldn''t be too worried about it.

So how''s everyone else doing??
