Patty, this ring of yours now has a completely different look to it, and I love it!! Congratulations. I would love to see a top down photo of it on your hand if you have one. Also (this is probably on one of your other threads, but asking here anyway), can you tell us how wide your band is?

I think the new head makes it look quite elegant and gives the ring a more delicate appearance. I am totally a YG lover, even though I ended up getting platinum wedding rings. But pretty much everything else I own is YG. Oh and I do also wear my mom''s old wedding band which is 22K YG, so I definitely get my fix of YG.

, yep....back when i got marry (86) those were the hot items,yg ring on white head.wife has a 4 and a 6 prong ring i always like 6 prong setting more,it more round looking the 4 prong setting makes the stone too square looking.by choosing this style of ring,now i can guess your age

rms, Here is the top down view. The ring is 8 mms wide. The wedding bands that I wear with it are 2 mms each.

Ya know, I just brought this ring back to its original look. When I joined Pricescope and started seeing so many surprise stones and low, 4 pronged heads, I thought that was what I wanted. But it just didn''t work on this ring. I should have stuck with the original design.
But hey...I ended up with a beautiful new diamond in the middle of my renovations!

Patty, I have always admired your ring....but I LOVE the new look....(I''m a six prong person myself-think it gives a "round" look - but then I love all the 4 prongs that are posted here...)....
Anyway, I think it looks better w/out the surprise stones, too...
Does it feel like you have a whole new ring??? Was it easy for you to upgrade the center stone??? Just curious...............

Maxine, it sort of feels like a new ring and it sort of feels like my old ring...only better! I love that the emphasis is back on the main center diamond and there is no longer the distraction of all the "clutter." Mostly I notice how good this diamond looks in it. I know people always say that pictures don''t do a stone justice and it''s so true. This diamond looks like it''s on fire in this ring! It really catches your eye now.

As for the old stone, no, it was not hard to upgrade it. I still have it in a pendant and it''s still a pretty stone. Pictures make it look TERRIBLE but in person, it''s a pretty diamond but nowhere near ideal. It was not my original stone. I got it after 10 years of marriage. I''ve told the story before, but when we got engaged, we discovered an inclusion in the stone that night. The next day, the jeweler put a new stone in the ring and I always felt like it was smaller and not as pretty. It later turned out to be smaller as I''d suspected, plus it was way too deep and had the "nail head" appearance. I wore that diamond for 10 years but never liked it. When I chose the new one in 1989, I loved it. I knew it was not a great quality but I loved the size and the stone had a lot of fire...It still does! So I''m mildly attached to it, but once I got an ideal cut stone, I knew that I really wanted an ideal cut stone in my wedding ring. And the new stone was such a good deal (it''s an I-1 but eye clean) that I could not pass it up.
