Just add some fresh flowers to the cake. See the attached pic. My cousin made the cake for my brother''s engagement party, and added some roses to the top. :)

Also, making some cake stands as suggested or buying some would make it really nice.
I love this cake - so fresh and so alive in the pictures - I always look for cakes that stand out in pictures and I really like this one....now you have me thinkin about our wedding cake again hmmmmmmmmmmm :D

My cousin had cakes as their centerpieces for their wedding and it came out beautifully. It was just a simple round cake on a stand with fresh flowers on top. Similar to what others have said, they had a couple of different flavors, so if people didn''t want one, they went to another table for the other flavor.

I really wanted to do the same thing for my wedding, but in truth my cake lady told me that the price would have been more expensive. Since I also wanted to have some other desserts, what I did was have a small wedding cake, sheet cake in the back, and my little tart desserts were my centerpieces. Here are pics of my little wedding cake and my dessert centerpieces. Nothing special, but I loved them!

I know there''s a bio on the Knot with tons of pictures of mini cakes as centerpieces. I am looking for it right now, I wish I remembered offhand where it was - I just looked at it a week or so ago.. Hmmm...
