Calling all the Pregnant PS''ers

Turtle he's gorgeous  I love the milk coma :p

Pupp those pics of Nolan are awesome! He's gorgeous!

Lots to catch up on!

Icekid, I can’t imagine waking up at 3:30. I don’t know how you medical ladies do it. I only got 6 or so hours of sleep one night because of work, and I was absolutely dead the next day – felt terrible. I don’t remember how short you are, but do you remember when you could really feel the baby from the outside? Not necessarily moving, but being able to feel where it is?

Kunzite (and China) – I like the name Oliver. It’s different, but not different for the sake of being different or a name that sounds like a made up name :) I have a family member named Liam, who’s about 12. I had no idea it would become such a popular name.

Noel, looks like you’ve been having a lot of fun picking out clothes! The cardigan you made is so darling – and so special that you made it for her. I wish I had those skills!

LV, so exciting to feel the baby! Congrats on halfway! I like Samantha, it has the option of going by “Sam” or Samantha. While I like unisex names in theory, I’m wary of causing confusion for kids as they’re growing up and making them explain that they are actually a boy/girl on a regular basis. Re: pillows – using a regular pillow between the knees works ok for me but isn’t totally comfortable (and keeps moving), so I ordered the Dreamgenii that Bliss recommended. It’s supposed to be smaller and less bulky than other preg pillows. I just got it, so I haven’t tried it yet. I'm still sleeping on my back a lot.

Lanie – I have to buy some mat clothes now too. My work pants and skirts are getting uncomfortable even not fully buttoned. I’m planning to order some pants from Gap. If you’re looking for comfy flats – I got some from Land’s End that are very comfortable, reasonably priced ($40) and plain and formal enough for work. I’ve been wearing them every single day and given up my heels. On the classes – I’m not planning to take birthing either. I feel like whatever happens is going to happen – can’t control it, and they’ll tell me what I need to do at the time. More info in my case might freak me out.

Bliss, I’m sure you look chic in your non-mat dresses. Let us know if you get any other great finds. Unfortunately, that style dress is not quite formal enough for my work.

Lynnie – sorry about the pain, that sounds unpleasant! Hope it gets better.

AFM, I’m at 14.5 weeks and have my next appt on Monday; hopefully will be able to hear the heartbeat. At my 10wk and 12wk, they didn’t even try to hear it. Re: weight gain – I’m a little worried, but trying not to be, that I’ve gained 5 lbs now, and 4.5 lbs as of the first tri (14wks), which is at the high end. I know I’ll work to lose everything after, but would prefer to avoid gaining excess weight if possible. I don’t want to restrict my eating so I guess I’ll gain whatever I gain. The weird thing is that I didn’t gain anything until 10wks, even though I definitely got bigger; since then I’ve been putting it on.

Also – I definitely have a belly now, but it’s really strange because it’s not a baby belly! I can feel my fundus down low, so where my belly sticks out higher it must be dislodged intestines and food – did anyone else have this early on? I wish it was a baby, but it’s just a big old belly full of food…I feel like my uterus is still so low for 14-15 wks (obviously I have nothing to compare it to). I can’t believe it’s supposed to be up to my belly button in just 3 weeks?

Noel - cute stuff! The little onesies are precious. I can't wait to do a little more shopping for my daughter..once my work schedule calms down a bit. I *love* that precious little cardigan...how special that she'll have things handmade by her mommy!! :) Hiccups - how fun! They must get annoying after awhile (especially if you're trying to sleep) but for now they're cute! I still don't feel my LO much yet - can't wait till I can definitely feel her.

Lanie - awww, I'm sorry you're feeling sensitive about your belly. I bet it looks super cute. :) Just remember what an awesome thing your body is doing right now...it's amazing, really. So many cool things happening!! It may not look like you're accustomed to looking, but wow, you're making a BABY in there!! How cool!! Oh, and the name Owen - LOVE IT! Super cute. I like the other three you posted too, but I like Owen best!

HH - can't believe you're up to bat next! Where has the time gone?? Glad you guys got your classes done - now you're REALLY ready, right?! Hopefully it will be before October!! But I guess he'll come out when he's ready, right?

Kunzite - congrats on team blue!!! And good luck picking out a boy name. We had a boy name 100% picked out, and several girl names, and of course, we ended up with a girl, so had to narrow down our girl name list. But we managed to settle on one pretty quickly, and since we've decided on it, it has really started to feel "right". It's fun to have a name to call her instead of always just saying "the baby" like we did before we knew she was a she!! BTW, I think Oliver is a fantastic name.

LV, I like both Emerson and Samantha a lot - each for different reasons. Samantha is classic and feminine, and also not crazy popular right now, and the nickname "Sam" is great. Emerson is pretty and unique, and I love "E" names for some reason. Plus Emmy is cute. :) But if it clashes with your last name, you don't have to use Emmy as a nickname!

cdt - welcome to team pink!! So excited for you that you'll have one of each now! That's what I want, eventually.... :)

IceKid - well, *I* think you look preggo and not chunky!! :) You are definitely cute and tiny for how far along you are, but I think you're definitely looking more pregnant these days! But it is crazy how much the scrubs hide it - I look *so* much more preggo in my maternity clothes than I do in scrubs!! Boooooo for the crazy rotation...I have 2 more hard-ish months in a row coming up, and am finishing up a Q4 NICU month right now, but luckily managed to switch my schedule around to have all outpatient decent hours for my last 3 mos of pregnancy. Worked out pretty well, actually.

Cara - I like Xavier! Too bad it doesn't work with your last name. My best friend who is also preggo is thinking of using Holden for a boy name.

SS, good to see ya over here, momma!! I'm so glad everything is going well with your little princess. :)

TurtleDazzle, congratulations!! He's such a cutie pie! And yay for fast labor - that's awesome!!

Puppmom - I'm glad you dropped in to say hi! Was thinking about you and your little man and hoping things were going well - sounds like they sure are! The newborn pics are absolutely precious -what a heartbreaker! Glad the BFing is going well, too.

Kunzite - I hear ya on the displaced intestines belly, LOL. I had that too. You're right, your fundus at this point is a little bit above your pubic bone (it becomes palpable at your pubic bone around 12 weeks). It should be halfway between pubic bone and belly button around 16 weeks, and it'll be right at your belly button at 20 weeks. You may be surprised how much you grow between now and then - for me, I think I made a big noticeable change and really started showing over the past 2 weeks, between 16 and 18 weeks. I can feel my fundus now just a little below my belly button, and if my bladder is full, it gets pushed up almost all the way to my belly button! Don't worry too much re: weight gain - some women put more on early, then slow down, while others put nothing on early then pack it on at the end. Not everyone has a steady gain, so this doesn't mean you're gonna gain 50lbs before it's all over!

---------------------------------------

Re: maternity clothes, I've been pretty happy with the stuff I got at Motherhood. I also hit up some consignment shops and scored some great deals!! Like, Pea in the Pod stuff that is either new or barely used for CHEAP.

Re: "the girls", mine haven't gotten THAT much bigger, but I've still got 22 weeks to go! I've gone from a 34D/36C to a full 36D. I wonder how much bigger they'll get...

So speaking of names, I'll share ours....her name will be Eleanor (Ellie for short). Middle name will probably be Anne. Best part is, DH and I agreed on it pretty much instantly!

:appl: :appl: :appl: :appl: :appl: :appl: HOU-Eleanor has been my fave girl name forever!!!!! So excited you picked it for your little angel!!!!! I love it with Anne as a middle name, especially "Anne with an e":-)

LV-I like Samantha a lot, what middle name would you put with it? Samantha Emerson could work depending on your last name.

Noelwr-Those clothes are     and I love the cardi you made!

Ice-You totally look pregnant!

:wavey: Hi to all the wondeful mamas-to-be. I haven't been posting much, but I am so excited for you all

Turtle, congratulations he's beautiful!

Pupp-good to hear from you. Nolan is SO CUTE! I've been hit with major baby fever lately. I just want to snuggle every little one I see.

Insomnia has totally kicked in for me this week. Some nights I'm lucky to fall asleep at all, other nights I fall asleep but can't stay asleep. UGH! All I want to do is sleep...

LV- I think Samantha is really sweet and love Sam as a nickname. Emerson, also nice, but I just cannot quite get behind girl names ending in 'son.' What did you think of "youcantcallitit?" I love name blogs!

Kunzite- I would not worry about Oliver being too unusual these days. It's definitely on the trendy side, at the moment. I'm sure your little guy would be in good company

noel- So jealous of all the girly clothes. Boy clothes are cute too, but it's just not quite the same. You have great taste, mama.

turtle- Awwwww, so sweet!! Love the milk drunk photos. What a cutie.

puppmom- YAY so glad you found a moment to pop in. You are undoubtedly one busy mommy these days. Nolan is sooo sweet. I am totally doing a pro photo shoot after he comes, no matter how tired we are. I actually really need to start working on finding a photographer!

CatLuver- Usually your uterus will reach your belly button at 20 weeks, though obviously this would depend on the length of your torso to some extent as well. Hmm, I don't think I could really definitively feel him from the outside until I could feel him moving. And I am 5'1". They have lots of extra space at the beginning to move around. and 5 pounds is TOTALLY reasonable for the first tri. I think that was around what I gained. Don't feel badly at all!

HMG- Awwwww, your little girl officially has a name! I love love love it. Ellie is one of my favorite little girl nicknames. It's so sweet and feminine. You are right about the scrubs though; they definitely make me look more fat, less preggo hehe. This upcoming month should be my last really hard one before he comes (though I have a couple of weeks of OB night float from weeks 36-38 :knockout: ), so hopefully I will survive the crazy days without any preterm labor. 26 weeks is way too early! That's awesome that you were able to switch your schedule around, though. It's hard for us to change much.

Lanie- Like HMG, I looove Owen. It was actually the name we picked out for our little man at the beginning of the pregnancy. It has been one of my favorites probably since I was oh, 10 or so. But it's on a huge upswing in popularity (probably related to the Aiden trend), which I personally do not love so we have moved on unfortunately.

Bella- Hope to see you over here on a more permanent basis asap ;))

Happy Friday, ladies!

HH - OMG, October?? Though I'm partial to October babies (I am one!), let's hope Aiden makes his appearance when he's supposed to! On a totally different note, why can't I see your avatar??

Cara - I like Xavier too! I also like Silas, and I love Calvin!! My hubby vetoed Calvin for us, though... it reminds him of Back to the Future (Calvin Klein underwear??). Strange are the reasons why we veto, huh?

HMG - Congrats on a stranger knowing you're pregnant! I havn't had any strangers stop me yet! And I LOVE Ellie!!

LV - I love, love Samantha!!! Oh, if I had a girl it'd be one of the top contenders!

Icekid - I agree, scrubs DO NOT do a pregnant body justice! I just feel fat in them :knockout: They are super easy, though. We've been having a tough time with a boy's name as well. It seems what I like and what he likes are totally different, and we can't seem to agree on something.

Kunzite - I like Oliver! You can call him Ollie! I think it's a nice name. My BIL and his fiance are expecting in November and they're naming him Liam, which I also think is a nice name.

Noel - That cardigan is super cute!! I love that you've got those skills!! I love your little girl clothes too!! Gosh, I when I see little girlie outfits, I wish I had someone to buy them for!! I think it's definitely more fun to shop for girls than boys!

Jena - Only 39 days! Seems so close! I wish I could help ya out on the hip issue...

Turtle - Tyler is beautiful!! I have a lot of respect for you (non-medicated delivery!), and I'm so happy for you!!! I had a good giggle at the milk drunk pic, too!

Pupp! Glad to see you're doing well, and Nolan's pictures are gorgeous! He's such a cutie!!! Glad that breastfeeding isn't much of an issue for you either (albeit time-consuming). I'm kinda nervous about it, and hope I can do it... I've had two really good friends that just couldn't, because it hurt too bad. We shall see...

Kunzite - good luck at your appt, and I hope you hear the HB! I wouldn't worry about 5 lbs... I didn't gain anything for the first 4 months, and then I gained 12 lbs in 2 months. I think our bodies pretty much dictate how we're gonna gain, and every body's different, yanno?

Bella!! It's nice to see you here!! Can't wait til you're here more permanantly (which will hopefully be very soon!)

Geez, naming this child has been incredibly hard for us. We can't seem to agree. DH likes Salvatore, I don't. I like Christian, DH doesn't.
So far, the only names we've been able to semi-agree on are Vincent and Gabriel. I really like Gabriel, but it's fairly popular (I think 27th?) and I've been reading online, and some little boys get made fun of for it (GAY-briel  ), so I don't know... I thought it'd be appropriate also because Gabriel foretold Jesus' birth, and the EDD is just before Christmas. I'm not crazy-religious either, but I thought it was interesting.
Our last name is one-syllable, beginning with N, so a longer first name is preferred.

I had my monthly yesterday, and all is well. 23.5 weeks, and a total weight gain of 12 lbs. HB was a strong 130. Baby's moving a ton, beating Mommy up! My OB said I have abs of steel, and that's why I'm so late in showing... I guess it's a compliment

Pics to follow... I really only bought one onesie, but I'll post it (just gotta snap a photo).

Just delurking to ditto Bella, Samantha Emerson would be a beautiful name! (as long as it works with your last name of course)

I don't know why my avatar isn't showing ;( stupid 2.0!

Also, is it possible to nest at work? I swear, I've been more productive in the last two weeks than I have been in the past year! At home though....yea, not so much....

Thank you everyone for responding to my name choice request! In case I don't say it enough, I love this place!!!!

After I posted my choices, I realized that I do have a strong prefrence for Samantha, so that night, I told DH that I feel the baby is really a Samantha, to which he immediately agreed! Haha, that was easy! He said he had always preferred Samantha, but I was the one who decided to "open up" negotiations again. So, first name is Samantha!!

To answer Bella's question (Hi Bella and HOT!!), her middle name will be Wren. This was not an easy one to get DH's consent on, hahahaha, but last night, he did say, that if I felt really strongly about it, he agrees! :appl: Seeing Samantha Emerson written out, I do like that too, a lot, but I think we will reserve Emerson for our boy, if we ever have one!

I will open it up to take criticism on Wren -- it's just a middle name, right? But, seriously, I'd love to hear views on the name. I'd be perfectly content with Wren as a first name, or Meadow, or Lark, or well you get the picture. ChinaCat, EB - What say you?

***********************

ChinaCat and Kunzite - I *heart* Oliver! I think it's adorable, yet classic.

Laila - :wavey: Hi There! Thanks for your Samantha vote! How are you feeling these days?

HH - Gah, love the name Finn too! Glad you are done with your classes and your DH is all set to parent! That's really nice that you've met another couple nearby. Maybe your little ones will be friends too. Sorry about the insomnia.

Fiery - Sophia is such a classic and beautiful name, and it really suits your beautiful daughter too!

Noel - CUTE baby clothes! I love the little Dutch bunny Nijntje!! I will post pics of baby stuff too, that is, after I can manage to stay in a baby store for more than 5 minutes without freaking out and then actually buying something.

TurtleDazzle - Congratulations!! Tyler is precious! Yay for an easy birth story too. You may not have time to answer, but if you do, I'm curious about your Doula. Did you spend a lot of time with her before the birth? Or did you just meet her once or twice beforehand? Sounds like you really appreciated having her there for her experience. I'm curious how many births she's been a part of. I am considering a doula, but I would be her second client (which means I would not pay for her services since she needs two births for certification. This is part of the appeal, but she doula'd for a friend of mine, who said she was invaluable. They have been friends for years, so know each other well.)

Puppmom - So glad you stopped in to say hi, and with pictures too!!! I showed my DH the first photo of Nolan. I will randomly interupt him while he's talking and show him pictures from my laptop (usually of greyhounds, haha, so he usually ignores me.) I showed him Nolan, the expression on his face lit up, and he said, "Ok, now THAT is cute!" I thought that was so adorable. So, yeah, that first picture of Nolan is a winner. Too precious!!!!

Catluver - I have for sure not figured out this whole pregnancy body change thing. The top half of abdomen, above belly button, is totally poofed out. Is that even my abdomen, still? Haha, I feel like I need an anatomy class because I have no idea what is going or where anything is.

HMG - Yay for sharing baby names. Eleanor Anne is a gorgeous name, and I love the nickname Ellie -- fun and fresh!

Icekid - The name blog was neat. I also came across a website where you can find the top baby names by city and even by hospital, but can't seem to find it right now. It was very interesting how names vary by region and even by city!

Lynnie - Glad to hear your last appointment went so well. I do like the name Gabriel quite a bit. How does Gabe sound with your last name? I think Gabe is a very strong name. Good luck with your decision. You guys still have plenty of time to work it out.

******************
I'll close with a picture of a wren . . . just because! There are many varieties of wrens. They are pretty little songbirds. This is a Carolina Wren.

carolina-wren.jpg

Hey, where are all the gorgeous bellies today?!?!

Thanks everyone for all of the well wishes and compliments on the pics. The newborn shoot was worth every penny. It was hard work though. It took about 3.5 hours. I was bragging when the photog arrived that Nolan nurses every 3-4 hours and he just nursed so we should get through the shoot no problem. Well, my little man decided he wanted to nurse EVERY SINGLE HOUR for TWENTY MINUTES. Our photographed was SO patient.

HH, I totally nested at work! I was really unmotivated most of my third trimester but I was seriously moving and shaking the last few weeks at work.

Hou, I LOVE LOVE LOVE the name Eleanor. DHs grandmom was named Jane Eleanor so if we had a girl we were going to name her either Eleanor Jane or Nora Jane. I think it's the perfect choice!

Catluver, I agree you shouldn't sweat the weight gain. I totally stressed and it didn't do me any good for sure. I had gained almost 10 pounds by 14 weeks and ended up gaining a little over 40. I'm 4 weeks post partum and down 27. I'm guessing the next 15 won't come off nearly as easy but it will with some work.

Icekid, I hear ya on the boy clothes...there's not nearly as much to choose from as there is for girls. Oh, and why do they all have to say something dumb on them like "I'm handsome like my dad" or "I'm second in charge after mom"? I could see a cute quote here and there but they get old!

Lynnie, I was really stressed about BFing too because I have a few friends who were unsuccessful also. And, I just thought it might be weird. Besides being lucky enough to have a good supply and a baby that latches well, I totally attribute my success so far to taking a class and reading up. Otherwise, I wouldn't know what a good latch was or what was normal and may have quit early on.

LV, Samantha Wren! Beautiful!

Noel, I forgot to comment the first time I posted but those clothes are absolutely darling. SIL buys the neatest things for Nolan. I don't know where she finds them but they're just so unique and cute!

I love the name Wren as a middle or even first name. A blogger I follow has a little girl named Wren and it's perfect for her.

23w6d

sorry, I won't be sharing our daughter's name until she is born. it's just a think we do in Holland, keeping names secret until birth.

Lanie - I got Spencer off the tv show Pretty Little Liars and thought it was cute. I asked DH what he thought of it, and he said it reminded him of suspenders.

turtledazzle - Tyler is so sweet!

puppmon - love Nolan's baby blue eyes.

HH - with the photos of these baby boys, I can't wait to see what Aidan will look like. I have a feeling he is going to be darn cute.

Hou - I had a roommate named Ellenor Ann. I remember how she spells it because we would joke that her parents couldn't decide to name her Ellen or Ann. Ellie is sweet. reminds me of the cute female mammoth from Ice Age.

Lynnie - the abs of steel is definitely a compliment. I am so big now that it is getting in the way and sore, and I still have 16 weeks to go!

---

AFM, here is humungoid belly one day short of 24 weeks.

Um I LOVE Samantha Wren. Just vaulted to the top of my all-time favorite name list. The Wren adds just the perfect touch of whimsy and uniqueness, but it's a middle name and it's anchored by the strong Samantha. Wow, great job!!!!

Kunzite, Liam was on our list too, but at the time we ran into a rash of Liams. Haven't heard it as much lately, but it was making the rounds a year ago. I think it's lovely though. Would you name him William and call him Liam?

 :wavey:

I know it's important that we like the name, but I'm also glad to hear that others like it too and that it's not weird!

LV - I prefer Samantha. Emerson is too boyish for me. though I prefer Savannah over Samantha. sorry, I know that wasn't an option. what about Spencer? I like that, too.

OK so it seems you decided on Samantha, but I wanted to chime in...I am a girl Spencer! There are not many of us at all.

also hi :) I am not preggo...but was on Hangout and someone mentioned the preggo thread, so I thought I would check it out :) congratulations to all of you ladies!

Another huge thumbs up for Samantha Wren from me! :appl: It's beautiful.

LV - I LOVE Samantha Wren!! Funny - my name's Lynn (yeah, I wasn't very creative when it came to choosing a SN). Anyway, I work as a nurse, and I encounter a lot of hard of hearing folks. Sometimes when I say "Hi, my name's Lynn", they either think my name's Gwen, or Wren. They always, always compliment Wren on how different and nice it is!!

Noel! No doubt you're pregnant! You look fantastic!!!

2 pics coming up. A collage, including a pic from today, and the only onesie I bought, modeled by my cat Salem. He wasn't very happy about the photo shoot. haha
I *think* my belly's finally equal to or just past my boobs! Yay!

I bought the onesie way back when I got my BFP - it's how I told DH. I went to the nearest store, which happens to be Kmart, and they had a terrible selection. This was one of the only gender neutral onesies I could find!

:appl: :appl: :appl: I LOVE Samantha Wren the middle name keeps it fresh and modern, but Samantha is more classic and then you have the totally cute "Sam" nickname. great choice LV, and I love that it is a little old fashioined and a little whimsical b/c that seems a lot like you ;))

Hi there :wavey:

I thought I should probably delurk now that we have practically told everyone that we are pregnant. DH and I decided that if it's meant to be it will be so it didn't matter if we told now or later. Also, the shock of it all is just now wearing off. We have our first appointment on 9/13. They should be able to date the pregnancy then, since I have long cycles, around 39 days. If we go by my LMP date, we are 6 weeks along and the little gummy will be due 4/24/11.

I was wondering if any of you ladies had an m/s? I just started getting sick last night and haven't really been able to eat anything today. I was thinking about buying some Preggie Pops or the drops. Anyone have any experience with those?

I look forward to learning from you all in the coming months

Thanks for all the name input ladies!

China, you are making me tempted to push for Xavier. I think I am willing to go with the imperfect flow, but hubs is resisting. Or he didn't like the name as much as me to start with.

Callum is nice. Not sure its our kid's name. We have some Scottish friends that were kicking this name around for months, and even though they didn't use it now it feels like their baby name.

Calder also has the 'er' problem. I am also holding out some hope for a name with a nice short form. But something may have to give!

icekid, YES boy names are harder than girls. Well, knowing us, my DH and I would probably still be struggling with girl names but I feel like it would be a different problem - more of a weeding out than struggling to come up with ones we like enough. More variety in girls names.

Lanie, so it *was* Hudson = the baby name similar to a psers screen name! I like the name, too bad your DH isn't on board.

EB- Thanks for the list!! I like Finn, Callum (see above), and Landon. Ronan too but probably not for my kid. DH has nixed Finn, but maybe bouncing Landon around would lead somewhere. I kind of have to repeat names to myself a bit to let them grow on me. Also I would love to find a long form name with the short form Ash, but none of them seem right. Asher has the 'er' problem, Ashton = Kutcher, Ashley is trending girl these days and we have a friend-reason for avoiding it. Are there others?

LV, I like Samantha Wren! And middle name is a great place for some creativity!

noel, nice shopping! and I have to laugh at your 'humongoid' 24 week belly. If I can hobble to the work bathroom with a nice big mirror, I'll show you some belly! I don't think I even fit on my skinny mirror at home anymore :)

Jena, you too are getting close! How are you holding up?

Turtledazzle, Tyler is beautiful! Congrats!

Puppmom, Nolan is also gorgeous and those pics are TDF. Thanks for coming back with an update. Also good job on the weight loss - not too shabby for 4 weeks PP!

Catluver, what others have said on the weight gain. 5 lbs is fine for the first tri. I was up 8-10 or so and am now up about 30 or so at 36 weeks. I was hoping for less, but there is just a lot out of your control with pregnancy so its best to just listen to your body and not stress too much! And try and get in a little exercise when you can, though sadly short walks now count as exercise ;)

Bliss, your slouchy dress is supercute. If you've got the budget for in-between shopping, I say go for it. Pregnancy is a long haul and if you can stay fashionable and look nice that will help! But it will be a little more cost-effective to buy things capable of going into/through the third trimester, for those people trying to minimize their buying. Plus at 8 mo preggo the last thing I want to be doing is buying more clothes, so I am glad I have some things that I made sure were a little loose in the second tri for the big third tri belly.

HouMedgal- I like Eleanor, but I love Ellie! I am a sucker for cute shorted names. And agreeing with your DH and having it set half way through sounds golden!!

Lynnie, congrats on the belly making it past the boobs! You are definitely carrying on the slim side, but you look great so enjoy it!

Cupcake, congrats!! Welcome to the thread. Yes I had m/s and it sucked. I still get queasy at times. Eat frequent small meals, let yourself eat whatever seems palatable (carbs and fruit worked for me), small amounts of regular coke were a magic elixer for me and a few others (despite looking repulsive prior to me tasting it), and don't be afraid to ask your doc for meds if it gets really bad and you want relief. Good luck! For most women it gets better in a month or so, or at least *starts* getting better even if it drags on into the second tri.

Cara -- that was someone else! It was someone naming their girl close to the name of a PSer. Blushing maybe?

Cupcake -- cute puppy! I used to have a Westie growing up! My m/s was horrible. H O R R I B L E ! Nothing worked for me except for the biggest dose of Zofran my doc allowed. I lived on Boost/Ensure drinks and peanut butter and toast. Good luck...hope it doesn't stay long. Mine was with me from 6 weeks until 14.5 weeks for the really bad part, and then *just* occassional throwing up until about 20 weeks. BLAH!

Icekid -- UGH. I'm kind of turned off by Owen now. I don't want him to be in a class full of kids with the same name!

Lynnie -- love the belly pics!

LV -- love Samantha! Congrats on the choice!

HOU -- also love Ellie! How cute! I meant to ask you earlier...why are you moving from Houston? Don't you like the weather here? :cheeky:

China -- do you hear of a lot of Olivers these days? Went to Village maternity store. They had some cute things! And yes, better than the mall one!

Lanie, opps! It was blushing, sorry I didn't go back to check! So the mystery continues...

wow...no idea how I'm going to catch up...this thread is hopping!!

Thanks everyone for the congrats on girl for us!! I'm still so excited

LV - I LOVE Samantha Wren...beautiful name!!

Hou - I'm so in love w/ the name Eleanor, but no matter how hard I try my DH just won't go for it. I'm super jealous your DH agreed so easily!!!

Turtle - Tyler is perfect...so cute!

Pupp - I LOVE this newborn pics of Nolan, so so precious.

Noel - you look great and I love your maternity clothes!! So nice, I'm still getting by w/ wearing normal tops w/ just maternity pants so I haven't shopped much, but I love your style. My son's name is Lex, well Alexander, but we call him Lex.....you're the 1st person I've ever heard consider a nice name

Lynnie - you look great! Still so tiny.

AFM, DH and I have been discussing names and just like last time, we have SUCH different tastes in names. I love old names, he likes "common" names. We didn't name our son until he was a day old and we had no list going to the hospital! We were the worst! I loved Alexander and his nickname was modern enough for him, plus it was comic book character....YES my DH pretty much only suggest names of Star Wars characters or super heros ;))

After all the babbling there was 1 girl name we agreed on even when I was preggo w/ my son, so I *think* we have decided that we're going w/ it! It's still early though so it may change, but as of now our daughter will be Vivian Marie. I so love the name Vivian and I was shocked he never put up a fight w/ that one since all of my other suggestions were quickly vetoed....lol..

Here's my latest belly pic taken this week...21 week shot!

Hey ladies: I lurk over here a bit, and have seen the name discussion as of late. Hadn't seen 'Merit' come up: friends just had a boy and named him that...I love the name! It seemed a bit too out there for me at first, but the more I heard and thought about it, the more it grew into a favorite baby name of mine! I also know someone who named their daughter Delaney (love!), and another boy named Devlin. Just a few unique but not too out there names.

LV, i just had to tell you this! Today at work i was day dreaming about the name Samantha Wren and thinking about how pretty it was and how it would really suit a little girl when a pair of blue fairy wrens began dancing at my door! They were there for maybe 20 minutes? I couldn't get any photos as they are a very 'flitty' bird, but i thought you might like to see what wrens look like in my part of the world.

I think it was a sure sign that you have got the name right!
