Jas, sorry the eczema is so horrible right now
Did your doctor ever recommend anything for you? My after-shower routine is now like 20 minutes long between face moisturizer, eye cream, belly cream, nipple cream, and now hydrocortisone under the arms. I suppose I should enjoy the time while I have it since in a few weeks, even a shower will be a luxury I think!
Yes, "helpful advice" is so annoying, isn't it?! Yes, if you've gone through something similar recently, then sure I'll take some advice, but just because you had a baby 35 years ago does not make you an expert in it now! I think it's probably a little worse with twins because people with NO experience in twin pregnancies whatsoever make these really rude comments.Yes, of course, I'm bigger than your daughter/coworker/neighbor was with one baby -- I've got TWO babies, TWO placentas, TWO amniotic sacs filled with fluid, MORE blood, etc. It's not just an extra 4 lbs. of baby in there, you know! It's really made me think a lot about what I say to people, that's for sure! Your friend rocks for the constipation/hemis reply, by the way -- that's hysterical!!
As for BF, yes I'm pretty nervous about it too. Most people have said that it's much much easier with the second child, so I'm hoping that one of my babies will count as a second child and that we can make a go of it (wishful thinking?). We'll go broke if we have to buy formula for two babies
Scares me to even think about it.
Some resources one of my classes recommends are:
La Leche League -- THE group for BFing
"The Womanly Art of Breastfeeding" -- book by LLL
"Breastfeeding Your Premature Baby" by Gwen Gotsh (if that applies)
I haven't checked out any of them though b/c I got a multiples-specific book.
