Calling all the Pregnant PS''ers

OOOOhhhh Mela, I <3 the highchair! How sweet of your girlfriends. Himer is def. a lucky lil one.

Now, did anyone else have trouble breathing super early on? I looked it up and it says shortness of breath is a first tri symptom, but seriously, I just don''t get it. I feel like I have to yawn or sigh like every 3rd breath. I''m so early on, just shy of 5wks, so it seems weird to be having this as a symptom.

I did big time! No worries-it''s weird but normal.

I had the same feeling. Still do, especially when I get on a roll talking

. I read up on it, and it has to do with all the extra hormones, I think.

Pandora- Ugggghhhhhh....really hope your employers settle so you can have some peace! So excited to 'meet' little Daisy soon! I love the story about your DH tickling her toes. Just too darn cute!

EBree- So sorry about the rib pain. Don't have any advice, but I'm thinking about you!

Mela- OOooohhh...could you post a pic? I would be so interested to see what it looks like when the baby drops like that. I had no idea it would be so obvious that someone would stop you on the street! Romeo, Romeo...or will it be a Little Luna-bean??? Can't wait to find out! ETA: How could I forget to comment on that chair?!?!?!? It is seriously FANTASTIC!!! I so want one!

Diva and natalina, thank you! Draping myself over a birthing ball does sound nice. It seems to get better when I arch my back.

I called the doctor this morning and he wanted to test my liver enzymes (and a few other things) so I came in and gave some blood. Just a few hours later, I got a call that the tests looked good and everything is functioning normally. So it looks like the problem is musculoskeletal (?) with a dash of baby feet after all.
3.gif

mela- Oooooh, I'm so jealous! It looks great. We've also registered for a Boon.

Mela- looove the chair!...is it sold at BRU?

Thanks Neatfreak and Natalina, good to know it''s normal.

Hi ladies! I always go to Rocky Talky so Ive been a little slow at discovering the other boards. I didn''t know where to jump in as this thread is 619 pages long so I just started from the end! When I have more time, I''ll work my way backward so that I can figure out who my fellow pregnant PSers are.

My due date is June 1st. I am so done but I am trying to be patient over this last month. I''d love to write more but my daughter (2 yrs old in two weeks) is asking for my attention.

See you ladies tomorrow! Good night!

Hi Ladies,

Hope everyone is well. I''m still trying to catch up. I''m so exhausted. I worked from 8 to 5 on Saturday, 7am to 9pm yesterday, and 6am to 8pm today. They forgot that I needed to eat on Sunday and by the time I was able to breath to ask for a meal break, I felt like I was going to pass out. My feet look like big sausages lol

Sleeping has become so uncomfortable. I wake up every 1.5 hours to flip over, then to pee, then to flip over again. Yesterday at about 4AM there were a bunch of drunk girls outside of my room acting crazy. It was HILARIOUS.

Baby girl is doing well. She''s moving a lot at night and she positioned herself kind of funny this morning so my belly is lopsided! Ohhhhhh....I started leaking. I''m just full of sexy.

Anyway, I''m going to go to sleep. Love you ladies! Take care of the bellies!

Awe, Fiery, I''m sorry your trip is not of the fun variety! I was actually getting on to post this morning about sleeping problems as well. I''ve not been sleeping well due to hip pain. My hips are fine during the day, but then at night when I''m sleeping, whatever side I''m sleeping on starts to hurt, and by halfway through the night, turning over doesn''t help. It''s making me miserable, and I kept both dh and the dog up last night because I was so restless. Ugh.

Welcome Fabienne! Do you know what you are having or is it going to be a surprise?

Ebree, sorry about your pain, but glad all things are functioning normally.

Whoops, time for work, hopefully I''ll have time to read back through everyone else''s posts sometime today...

Hi ladies!

So many of you are about ready to be mommies!! Just wanted to pop in and say I''m thinking about you all (pains, feet in the ribs, hard time sleeping, allergies, food aversions, all of it!!) and getting excited for the babies to come out!! Yay!!!

And to the more "newly" pregnant ladies (you know, Sunkist, Amber, Peony, November, Sweet Pea.... all of you!!)----how are you doing? Any crazy signs of pregnancy going on in your bodies? Pukey? Dizzy? Or are you just coasting along, feeling great, all nuts excited about getting closer to feeling the baby move?
9.gif

Ahh!! I''m so excited for you all!

Enjoy it and live it up.... you''ll be mommies soon!!!

(No, not on a sugar rush... just crazy excited today for some reason. Woke up this way... very weird!!)

Mela... I''m envisioning your little one dropping, dropping, and exiting for you! Can''t wait to see Luna (or maybe Romeo...)! Hang in there girl. What''s your most recent "nesting" behavior been?
9.gif

Mornin''! I''m going to have Mother''s Day Brunch with my mom today because I''m worrried I won''t make it to Sunday
6.gif
. Baby is sitting SO LOW and I get deep pressure pains often, almost like my cervix is going to break. They are quick, like, only a couple seconds, but they stop me in my tracks. Aside from that, I have no BH. My boobs are really sore and feeling more full, and I''m super emotional. I cry everytime I think about the baby coming (cry in a good way - tears of joy). So weird. My body is going crazy things.

Nesting? Whoa. Yesterday, I washed and iron all the bed linens, 3 loads of laundry, re-organized the front hall closet (again, omg), emptied our closets of old clothes to donate, walked the dog twice (for an hour each), went to buy knee pads - to kneel on during the birth. I have a metal rod in my left leg which goes in thru my knee, so I can''t kneel on hard surfaces. Made dinner, watched DH hit some tennis balls....bath...bed. phew. haha. you asked!

NYC - I''m not sure where the Boon Flair is sold in the USA. I''m in Canada, and my friends had to ''special order'' it for me. We''re treated like we''re in igloos up here. Hard to believe that the Boon is "that" hard to come by. Anyways, I feel like you guys have them all over the place. I''ve also seen them a lot on Craigslist and Ebay in NY. You could prob pick up a couple no probs ;)

Welcome Fabienne!

Um um um. Fiery - crazy trip you''re having! I''m still jealous - sausage feet and all!
3.gif

Okay. Going to hit the shower. I''ll try to post a pic of my dropped belly...

Hello ladies! I''ve been sort of MIA and as always this thread moves so fast!!

Fabienne, welcome!!
9.gif

Mela, Love the high chair!!!!!!!!
30.gif

Sweet Pea, I started getting short of breath BEFORE I even knew I was pregnant...and I was runner!. I couldn''t even go up the stairs without getting completely out of breath!.
Courtney Thanks for sharing your story!!! I couldn''t believe that wasn''t the same baby in the pictures!!!!. Alila is so beautiful and well, so are you!
9.gif

Sorry to everyone else I''m missing, I have just missed so much!!

*****

I''m doing great!...popping out!. My DH was away for a few days and when he got back last night he couldn''t believe how the belly grew in just a few days!.

I''m having a bit of a hard time with body image...I imagine because I still don''t "look" pregnant (only to the people that know me). I know it''s silly and it is of course all worth it...but dunno, I''m still having a hard time when I look at myself. I think getting the bigger belly has helped, so I think once it really pops all those silly thoughts will go away!.

We got our bedroom furniture and LOVE it!!. The room just needs a few accesories and it will be all done!

Happy Cinco de Mayo!!! Here''s a virgin margarita for you ladies

When you ladies found out the sex of your baby did you have anyone else at the U/S with you, outside of your DH/FI/SO?

We are hoping the doctor will let us have our parents in the room with us to find out....

It''s still a ways away from that (We find out in June) but it''s something I''m thinking about....

I wish this morning sickness would GO AWAY!!!

I''m 12 weeks 5 days today.

sorry for the random post :)

Hang in there Tao. My MS didn't subside until 14 wks, and didn't go away completely until 16 weeks. Sucks, but it will get better.

I dunno girls. I tried taking pics of my belly - but I really don't think the "drop" is captured in pics.
7.gif

Speaking of pics...my uncle is a photographer, and did our wedding photos. Anyhoo, I'm going to his house tonight to take some preggo pics. Have you seen any GREAT preggo pics online that I can steal some inspiration from? I'd like to have some direction to offer him...

TIA!

Tao - I had terrible morning sickness until 26 weeks. My GP put me on promethazine which made a HUGE difference. There are a number of meds you can get that are completely safe to take, so talk to your doctor and see if they can prescribe you something. Also, lots of pre=natals can make you feel worse - over here, we are only advised to take folic acid.

Mela - I am so with you on the weird stuff. Boobs suddenly seem bigger, sore and just ''different'' from the last few months. BH seem to have vanished, but lots of pressure and odd pain in the cervix area (like she''s moving her head from side to side). Also feeling very up and down over everything. My feet are driving me crazy though and making it hard to do much.

I''m seeing the midwives on Friday and I think I might cry if she hasn''t got to at least -3 station... I can''t decide if I think she might turn up early or if I''ll still be here in 4 weeks time.

Sabine - my hips hurt soo bad in the end too. There were times I thought they''d actually pop out of the sockets

It was better immediately after I delivered so hang in there momma!

Mela, I love that high chair!

Mandarine, I know what you mean about the body issues, I am having the same ones. I am not showing at all yet, but I definitely look fat to anyone who knows me (and I feel fat). I can''t wait until I am showing, I think that will help a lot.

We had our 12 week ultrasound this morning and it was really cool. We couldn''t believe how much our tiny baby has grown and looks like a real baby now. The baby was squirming around a lot ad moving his/her arms and legs. I am going to try to post a pic, I hope it turns out ok. We won''t have the results of the NT scan for a few days, but the technician said everything looks great and is measuring right on target for 12 weeks (I''m 11 weeks 5 days today).

We didn''t find out the sex of our baby before he was born

If/when we have our second DH and I are going to find out but we''re going to keep the gender between us and not tell anybody prior to the birth. Mean, I know, but we don''t want any pressure about names, clothing, etc.

If you are feeling really bad with your morning sickness, I agree with PANDORA in that you should talk to your doc and get some meds. I took Zofran (generic though) due to my m/s and it helped soo much. I still didn''t feel completely like myself but it did take the edge off.

November, what a beautiful baby!!!!!!!!!!! That''s a great picture!!
30.gif

I''m starting to get a bump, but still not like "ahh, she''s pregnant, not fat"...lol. I know I''m not "fat", but you girls know what I mean.

Anyway here is a picture from today since I didn''t post on Friday, 13 weeks 5 days today with the tweenies and a huge difference from my last pictures (if you remember them)!

M~

Mandarine,

You look great! Your little twin bump is adorable.

Question for you ladies - when did you tell work that you were pregnant? A couple of my friends suggested waiting till 16 weeks (after next appt), but I am afraid I''ll already be showing at that point and I prefer to tell them rather than have them guess.

Mandarine, thanks for the response. I feel like such weenie being out of breath all the time :) I hope your belly pops soon so you can feel a little better. I know I''m not there yet, but I totally get how you are feeling, I''m sure I''ll go through the same thing.

November, yay on your u/s! Thanks for posting the pic, so fun to see how "real" the LO looks at 12 wks. Glad things are on track.

Mela, hope you have a great brunch with your Mom! I bet it''s crazy to realize it''s almost go time :)

Pandora, I really hope baby is where she needs to be for you on Friday. Good luck!

Fisher, this newly preggo thing is definitely weird for me. I have lots of symptoms, but most are really mild, and they come and go. I am so excited to finally be here after 11 cycles of trying, so I definitely am not complaining, but I guess it has been interesting trying to shift my expectations of myself. I can''t wait to be further along so that I don''t have to hide the changes in my lifestyle anymore, and can share and talk about the exciting things with my fam/friends.

I''m 5 wks today! Our first ob appointment is in 13 days, will they do an u/s that day, or is that a separate thing?

Aww! Thats a perfect bump Mandarine!

Really quickly-

Mela, that does look great in your dining room!! Come on, little Romeo/Luna!

NYC - Boon might have something on their website telling you exactly where they're sold. I know that here, they're not sold at BRU but they are sold at the local fancy baby store that also sells Bugaboos, Stokke stuff, etc. If you have a similar baby shop near you, it could be worth sending someone to check them out (or going yourself, if that's not too big of an ordeal with two little ones right now). If you'd prefer to order online, BRU sells them online as does Amazon and probably a lot of the other major baby stores.

Courtney - Thanks for sharing your birth story! I'm so sorry that you were in so much pain afterwards. She seriously looks just like you - it will be interesting to see if she continues to look so much like you as she grows up.

ETA -
Mandarine, you look great! Love your bump!

November, I told my boss at around 10 weeks (a couple positions one step up had opened up and needed to be filled ASAP, and I wanted him to put me in the one that had minimal travel involved - which he did!) and told everyone else at 12 weeks. A lot of people knew before I told them but were kind enough to let me announce it on my own time. I wasn't truly showing, but I was bigger than usual plus people who sat near me knew that some things were a little bit off with me and so they had guessed. It's harder to hide things from people who you sit next to on a daily basis. But at the same time, some people are truly oblivious and didn't realize until, like, 35 weeks along.
6.gif
I guess it depends on how observant your coworkers are and how much you're acting/looking pregnant as to whether you'd be able to hide it until 16 weeks.

Thanks November and SweetPea!!!
9.gif

November, I told work at 12 weeks. I didn't want anyone guessing and rumors starting...I wanted to tell my boos first, and the other people I told between 12-13 weeks. I also have a great relationship with my boss so I felt pretty comfortable breaking the news.

SweetPea At my first appointment they didn't do an ultrasound but they did schedule one for a couple of days after wards. All Drs are different though, so you may just want to ask....some don't really do an early u/s and some insurance companies just cover 2 u/s's total. I would check with your insurance first so you know what to expect.

M~

ETA: Thanks Blen!!!

I''m a devoted lurker here (I have to live vicariously until our lives are more baby-friendly!), but I wanted to respond to Mela. Our wedding photographer does portrait sessions, and she has some adorable pregnancy and baby photos on her blog. Unfortunately they aren''t all tagged the same way so I can''t easily link to a list of them. Try searching for words somehow related to having a baby if you want to avoid scrolling through her entire post history (baby, babies, pregnant, expecting, meet, etc). Her blog is http://shootinggalleryphotography.blogspot.com/

November, cute u/s! I told work when I came back after the Christmas/New Year break, so about 14 weeks. I was really worried that people would start noticing soon. I could still hide my bump at that point by wearing loose tops, but to anyone who knew me and was paying attention, I was showing. I think there''s a difference between showing and when you pop though (I popped at about 17 weeks) and even then some people just take forever to notice. I''d tell when you''re comfortable.

Mandarine, your bump is so cute!

Pandora, crossing my fingers that you''re not pregnant for another 4 weeks!

Sweetpea, it really just depends on your Dr. Mine doesn''t have an u/s in the office so I have to make an appointment at the imaging center across the hall to have one. I had an early one to date the pregnancy, but the Dr. wanted me to wait until I was 8 weeks to schedule it so that we could be 100% sure that it was viable since a heartbeat should show up by then. Some Dr''s don''t feel the need to date the pregnancy with an u/s and they just go based off of your lmp. That''s what mine would''ve done if I''d had a lmp. The last bleeding I''d experienced was from my m/c.

Good to know about the Dr. I think I''ll call just so I know what to expect.

Mela: I forgot to write earlier that you should search flickr for maternity photos. That is where I pull a lot of my photo inspiration.

Mela - I know that answering this proves that I''m lurking on this thread ;-) but check these pics out:

http://www.jenfabiano.blogspot.com/

I met her online because we were dress twins and both from Canada and she has started a new company, and some of her pics are fab and could be great inspiration pics for you!!

I''ll see if I can find others - worst case go find some Anne Geddes pictures - she''s always got good ones of little newborns :-)

HI Ladies,

I stumbled onto this thread while surfing RockyTalky for Push Gift Ideas. I've been a lurker on here for years...learning about diamonds and drooling over everyone's jewelry pictures.

I thought I'd just say that I have enjoyed reading the pregnancy posts...I've only read the last 5 or 6 pages.

Courtney - Thanks so much for sharing your birthing story. It helps me to learn about other's experiences.

I'm due May 28th. I'm 36w 5d. This is my first baby so am anxious about the delivery and what to expect afterwards as far as recovery from the delivery. I don't think I handle pain well.

Anyway, I would love to hear if anyone is getting a push gift and what they might be getting. I am thinking of either a Tiffany flower necklace or a journey necklace from Jareds. Then I started thinking today about maybe an eternity band. I already have an eternity band to go with my engagement ring, but thought I'd like one for my right hand.

M- cute cute belly,,,hard to believe there are two in there
