Calling all the Pregnant PS''ers

I do have one question: I''m 19w1 day today, and I have yet to feel ANYTHING. No flutters, no swimming feelings.... NOTHING. It''s killing me. When do people USUALLY feel them. I know I''m a little more padded so they said it may take a little bit longer, but why? It''s not like I''m trying to feel anything from the outside. I have a posterior placenta, I believe, since I haven''t heard anything about it NOT being posterior. I''m just worried.
Amber - Don''t worry too much. I didn''t feel any real movement until about 22 weeks. And no one ever told me I had an anterior placenta until my 23 week appointment, so you could have one even though no one has said anything yet. Either way, I''m sure everything is fine. I have extra padding, too, so that may also contribute. My doctor told me not to start doing kick counts until 28 weeks anyway, since they will be sporadic until then anyway. I will be 28 weeks on Thursday, and they are still sporadic, but I definitely feel them more. Give it some time, and I''m sure your baby will be beating the crap out of you

Congrats on SOFIA ALEXA!!!! SO nice to hear an "easy" birth story as I get closer myself. Hope you''re well, can''t wait to see pictures.

Amber- Ditto on the not worrying yet. A lot of people don''t feel them till later. I didn''t feel mine till about 22 or 23 weeks. Like So Cal, I didn''t find out I had an anterior placenta until my big U/S at 20 weeks, and probably then only cause I asked. Everyone is different, so try not to worry. I know it''s hard but still!

Ebree- If you''re lurking, can''t wait to hear about your birth story. Saw precious Henry''s "photo shoot" on the other site, and oh my gosh, he''s the cutest little thing.

Thanks so much, So-Cal (I'm also in So. Cal!!!, it's hard not to worry when you hear about your due date twins feeling all sorts of movement. I guess I'll see the baby moving next Tuesday at the big appointment. Thanks again!!

Also: thanks China!!

Cara - I''m so sorry to hear your sad news. I''ll be praying for you.

Fiery - Your MIL story scares me. I don''t have the best of relationships with my MIL and she''s very intrusive as well. I''m keeping my fingers crossed (for all of us with pushy MILs!) for things to go smoothly... I don''t think we''re even going to call our families until the baby is born to avoid drama.

Tao and November - Finally some PINK around here! Congrats!

Robbie - CONGRATULATIONS! Desmond is so gorgeous.
30.gif

NYC - Congrats on the birth of your daughter Sophia! Can''t wait to see pics.

13w5d here, and I went shopping last weekend with my mom for some maternity clothes. Those clothes have to be the most comfortable clothes I''ve ever worn! I love them. I feel like I''m getting kind of big for 13/14 weeks, but strangely enough I don''t really seem to be gaining weight. I just hover around 115 lbs like I used to pre-preggo. Unless my Wii Fit is lying!
33.gif

In other news, I''m going to the hospital tomorrow to get some blood drawn, I hope it goes well. My blood vessels are so tiny it''s usually not easy.

NYC you stealth girl you!!!

36.gif
congrats! i hope my birth is as 2 push fantastic as yours! can''t wait to see pics!

phoenix- we are getting the (drumroll) ;) olivia crib from walmart as well... i was debating between the dwell studio crib and this one.. but since the reviews are MUCH more favorable for the walmart crib that is what we are getting. my in laws have already told us they would love to buy us our crib (which is totally sweet) but right now, until the room is painted etc. we don''t have anywhere to put it, ya know? as for a changing table we are getting the malm 6 drawer dresser from ikea (b/c there is no way i can give up an entire closet for the babe
3.gif
) and just buying the changing table topper from land of nod. that''s the only ''furniture'' that will fit in the room.. me thinks... DH is going to do built in bookcases and a toy box under the window (awwwww). this is where my stress lies. i just want him to get started so the rest of it can fall into place. every weekend is so busy for us... i can see this project dragging into september - UGH. if the trim work was done then i could paint, order crib, buy rug, set up crib, buy dresser.. nnnneeeeessssstttttt :) :)

BTW how necessary IS a rocking chair... i really don''t think one will fit in the babe''s room... and don''t *really* want to swap out any of our living room furniture for a rocking chair... i guess i''m just wondering if they are absolutely necessary or if they are just ''nice to have''.

ETA: amber - i didn''t ''feel'' anything until like wk 18 and even then i didn''t know if i was feeling flutters or gas. it wasn''t until i really paid attention and it was the same feeling for like 2 weeks that i realized that it was the baby moving. as you probably read from my earlier post i''m no expert when it comes to baby movements so i wouldn''t worry :P maybe just try drinking juice and laying down really still and see if you can feel anything tonight....

woohoo!! We love our olivia cribs!

Word of caution though...the wood is a little bit on the soft side, so they do get easily damaged. One of our cribs was pretty damaged so we returned it and got a new one (it was super easy, we called, the UPS guy was here a few days later to pick up the damage crib and the new one arrived a few days after that!).

Both of the cribs we have now have some "minor" little chips here and there. Nothing obvious (they''re tiny!) and nothing I would return the cribs for, but just so you know. I am on the hunt for a dresser now...I was leaning towards the hemmes one from ikea, will check out the one you''re thinking of!.

I went there last week and I think it may work...although the Hemmes is a little bit more "off-white" rather than crisp white (like the cribs).

Overall I love the cribs, specially for the price
9.gif
and DH built each one in 45 minutes or maybe even less!

nyc Congrats!!! hope you and baby are doing well.

robbie awww, Desmond is a cutie.

Robbie & NYC: congrats!!!!!

Anchor - I have the same problem when I get a shot. My veins are so small, it''s always a difficult process. At my last appt. when I got my BFP and had to go in for a blood test, the nurse told me to drink lots of liquid beforehand so, I did when I had to go back two days later for a follow-up and they were able to draw blood right away. Drinking 2 glasses of juice or water should help!

NYC - CONGRATULATIONS!!!!!!!!!!!!

I love the name Sophia, beautiful!!!

Robbie - Desmond is adorable! Can''t wait to read about your birth story. I can''t believe you were able to go all natural. I don''t think I can be that strong! I''m such a wuss when it comes to pain.

NYC - Congrats on Sofia Alexa and for a fast delivery. Can''t wait to see pictures of her!

Fiery - Hang in there. You have more progress than I do. I can''t believe you''re next on the list and then me! Eek!

Sabine - Sorry to hear about your horrible PUPP rash! I thought I had it too, but doctor told me I do not have it. My skin just itches almost everyday, but not as bad as if I had PUPP, I guess. Hope it gets better for you.

I had my last doctor''s appointment on Friday, and she said my cervix is still closed and no further progress rather than my 20% effaced. I''m so ready though and now uncomfortable all the time.

wow 2 new babies to welcome

congrats ROBBIE and NYC!!!!! Desmond is a qt! and we cant wait to see Sofia

Congrats NYC!

Anchor- I ditto Blushing. The better hydrated you are the easier it is to draw blood. Good luck!

Robbie--
Awwwww....what a sweet little munchkin Desmond is
30.gif
30.gif

Glad to hear that you had your natural birth.
Can''t wait to hear more about it.
Also, can''t wait to see more pictures of your little cutie.
Good luck w/ BFing.

NYCSparkle--
Congrats and welcome to baby Sophia!
Stealth labor indeed and I''m amazed that you delivered that quick -- 2 pushes?
I hope my second will be just as fast.

Fiery and Radiantgirl--
You two are so close!

Cara--
I''m a bit late....but I''m so sorry to hear.
*hugs*

mandy - did you do the 'ship to store' option for the crib? just wondering if that would eliminate/help the 'ding' issue.

i have the malm dresser in my room (and bed and side tables... hey, when i find something i like :) :) the drawers are really big and fit a lot of clothes. the white is definitely white white.

i thought i would put the changing table on one side - and use the drawer/s underneath for diapers and supplies... thus avoiding giving up any of our precious closet space.... gotta love old homes :) :P

like so:

this is the topper from land of nod...
7.gif
it''s on backorder until august but :) it''s on sale!

5013002_ChangerTop_WH_07F3.jpg

Thanks Viz!!. I can''t believe I didn''t see that dresser when I went to ikea!. I''ll have to check it out again!.

I love that topper! Thanks for the tip!!
2.gif

I don''t know if the ship to store would help...I did regular shipping to the house....which I am glad I did because the return was very simple!. Otherwise we would have had to carry the crib back to the store, etc (or you could open the big box right there and do a quick check before taking it home I guess).

I''m not sure that the damage was caused by UPS...but even with ship to store, they have to transport the items from different facilities (I''m doing that with the matresses...and the tracking shows they''ve already stopped at 2 facilities!)

Either way, they will be really good about making sure you''re happy at the end (I was very surprised, the customer service was actually VERY nice!).

i didn''t think about having to take it back to the store - what a PIA that would be
3.gif

ohh all of this nursery talk makes me want to go home and just start doing things....

tactic #1 - offer to order trim for DH....

ETA: just called DH... awwww he already ordered the trim .... said he told me last week when he did ... preggo brain?? but
39.gif
it won''t be here until after the fourth weekend....
the good news
36.gif
36.gif
is that we''re going to get more paint samples tonight.. i think he could sense the stress in my voice. just when i think i''m all alone in my worries .. wham-o he never fails to come thru in a pinch
16.gif

gosh, i think i better do some work today... although.. ps has been a nice distraction for a monday (aaaaaannnnndddd it''s a short week!!!
36.gif
36.gif
)

NYC - Congratulations!!!
36.gif
I''m soooooo jealous of your labour
28.gif

Amber - I didn''t feel any movement till nearly 21 weeks and that was with a posterior placenta and I''m on the skinny side so no excuses at all. It''s very normal to not have felt anything at 19 weeks. Once I did feel them it wasn''t a case that they had been there and I hadn''t realised - it went from nothing to oh gosh that felt strange. Trust me, by 38 weeks you''ll be looking for the off button!

Viz - Definitely movements and not BH!

Sabine - So sorry about the PUPPS. Sounds miserable.
7.gif

Fiery - Wow, 3cm already! I doubt it will be too long now!

Anyone wondering if it is too early to do the nursery or buy things... nope, do it now while you can still walk and bend down! Also, I had a nightmare where the company I bought the pram from sent one of the bits wrong and it took nearly 6 weeks and a gazillion phone calls to finally sort everything... if I''d waited till the last month to buy it I would have been going ballistic!

woohooooo Viz!!!!!!!
36.gif
36.gif
36.gif

That''s awesome!!

You''ll see, once they start moving on the nursery stuff, they really get into it.

DH painted the boys'' room last night (it turned out PERFECT!)...he wouldn''t stop until he was completely done, it was so cute so see him all "in action"
2.gif

So yay for your DH!!...one step closer now
9.gif

Congrats to NYC!! Can''t wait to see pics.
And more pics from Robbie too.

So excited for both of you...

SABINE: did your ob definitely say no topical steroids? fwiw, i''m a dermatologist and from all the studies i''ve read there is SO MINIMAL systemic absorption of the steroids that i''ve NEVER heard of them not being given for PUPPS in a pt with GD. sounds like torture to me! i can certainly understand being hesitant with oral steroids, but i can''t imagine there being a problem with the topicals... that being said, OBVIOUSLY listen to what your doctors say!!
4.gif

Congrats to all the new additions to our PS family!:) It''s so funny-I never knew some of you were expecting until i ventured over here myself.
emteeth.gif
And so many twins!!!

I hate to jump right in with a question already, but I am 8w3d. I had MAJOR morning sickness during week 7, but it has really improved at the start of week 8...to the point of worrying me. I have a Dr.''s apt on the 6th (we did see the heartbeat at 7 weeks), but I was wondering, did anyone have their morning sickness improve dramatically so early? Do you guys think I should maybe be worried?

I''m such a worrier by nature, pregnancy has been interesting thus far.
3.gif

Thanks!
SK

Cara-I''m really sorry for your loss. Please take care of yourself during this time
7.gif

Pandora and Lorelei-Thanks for the support. I think after taking our hospital tour and knowing exactly what the process is in the hospital, we both feel really confident that we have more control over the situation.

Sabine-I''m sorry about the PUPPS
7.gif
. Hopefully it gets better over the next few weeks that you have left!

Viz-I noticed the flutters around 18w and then after that it was full on kicks/punches. I had maybe a day or two of flutters from what I can remember. Those can very well be baby movements! The chair is not all that necessary but nice to have. You can pretty much feed the baby anywhere. We got a glider from my mom but if we hadn''t, we would not have purchased one. We have oversized couches that would have worked just fine.

China-Take it easy! I know that''s hard to do with so much stuff floating around in your head but it''ll all get done eventually
3.gif

Am04-You''re almost out of 1st tri! How exciting!!

Mandy-
35.gif
lol

Phoenix-GL on the nursery progress!

Amber-I would ask the OB for sure what the position of your placenta is. The extra padding (LOL) doesn''t really affect it too much. I thought it would for me because I have some serious padding going on but I was able to feel the movements just before 18w. No need to worry though. Even if you don''t have an anterior placenta, it could very well be the position of the baby and where the kicks/punches are happening that prevent you from feeling it.

Anchor-Yay for 2nd tri
36.gif

I soooo ditto Pandora on getting the nursery done early. If I took a pic of our "nursery" right now, you all would laugh at me. It''s half painted and everything is still in its box. My little brother is here to help out because I just don''t have the energy anymore. I was having a conversation about where everything should go and I got worn out lol

Siamese Kitty-The coming and going of symptoms is normal. I didn''t have m/s at all but I also didn''t have any other symptom during 1st tri. I worried about it constantly b/c its normal too but there was never anything to worry about. Consider yourself lucky
2.gif
And if I hadn''t welcomed/congratulated you before..Welcome and Congrats!!

congrats s.kitty!!!
my morning sickness would come and go... each time i thought i was over it - bleh .. it would come back.. didn''t go away completely until like ummmm 17 weeks perhaps? i wouldn''t worry... ms = healthy baby.. right?? at least that''s what i would tell myself to get thru it
3.gif

ok... off for the night :)

I have a glider and I must admit it is a lifesaver... one of the few ways I can get Daisy to sleep is rocking on that. She''s also in a phase where she wants to sleep on her side and so can''t/won''t go in her high-chair podule at the moment, so I put her down to nap on the seat of the glider during the day and she loves it whenever she actually does nap (not that this happens very often
20.gif
).

For breastfeeding, after the hellish first few weeks (I have yet to meet anyone who didn''t cry buckets and struggle with it at the beginning) you can literally feed anywhere. I just sit her on my knee half the time now (even fed her that way on the bus the other day!) and can even walk round the house doing things with her held under one arm and boob shoved in mouth...
23.gif

So, you don''t NEED one, but they can be nice...

Hi ladies. Quick post.

Cara - I'm so sorry for your loss. I know it is cold comfort, but as DD said, many of us here, myself included, suffered an early loss and were able to get prego again. Take each day as it comes, and if you feel like doing nothing but sitting on the couch and watching bad movies and crying, do it! I'm wishing you much peace.

Robbie - Congrats on Desmond! He is adorable! YAY! How was the birth experience at the hospital? I'd love to hear about it!

NYCSparkle - Congrats on your new baby girl! Wonderful name and sounds like you had a relatively easy labor as well! That's awesome!

CC - Take is easy girl! Stuffs will get done! I'm only 30 weeks and I was exhausted on Sunday after spending the afternoon out looking at appliances and crap. I can't imagine adding 4 weeks and a bazillion degrees!

Sabine - I'm so sorry about the PUPPS. Man. I hope LIA is right and you can get some relief with a steroid cream. Blergh.

Fiery - Labor vibes going your way!!!! Cmon dilate!!!!!

Finally, on a me related note, I PASSED THE THREE HOUR GESTATIONAL DIABETES TEST! The test itself totally stunk, and I just had a gut feeling I was going to fail. I'm really glad I passed. Phew.

Yay for passying Littlelysser I bet you are so relieved!!! Woohoo!!!
36.gif

Awww, thanks Kaleigh!
1.gif

Lysser- So happy you passed!!
36.gif
36.gif
36.gif

Fiery- Hospital tour you say? Well they keep pushing mine back. As of now, it''s scheduled for the week before my due date. Hope I''m still pregnant, and if so, hope I can waddle myself around. So annoying. But probably my fault, should have scheduled it earlier.

Siamese- Welcome!
35.gif
Worrying is the worst in the first trimester. Try to just relax and be grateful you feel better!!! M/S doesn''t necessarily mean anything.

Radiantgirl- You''re so close! Sorry I missed you when I thought after Fiery it was just me and Sabine. Do you know what you''re having? I could go check the preggo in waiting list, but yes I am that tired and lazy.
3.gif

Cara- Thinking of you.

Mandarine and Vizla, it''s so nice that we''re all going through this together! And yay for cute DHs who come through in the end! Mine said he was going to do some guerilla gardening in the alley tonight (don''t ask -- at least my DH isn''t lazy, but he''s always busy with his hobbies), and then tomorrow he has bike racing and softball and we leave the next day. So I was thinking about our crib and dresser just sitting at Walmart and wondering WHEN are we ever going to get them???? I just made one comment and forgot about it, but then DH got a friend and the friend''s truck and went to Walmart and the house of the people who are giving us the glider and . . . now we have all our furniture upstairs just waiting for the next step! Yay DH!!!

littlelysser - Yay for passing the 3 hour test! I had to take that test too and was such a drag, and I barely passed it. Failed 1 number out of the 4, but my dr. wasn''t concerned.

Chinacat - I''m having a boy! I haven''t posted much on here, so that''s probably why you didn''t know.

Cara - I''m a little late, but so sorry about what happened. I, too, had a missed miscarriage at 12 weeks the first time around, and it took a long time for me to heal and get past it. Please take this time to heal and take care of yourself.

Robbie he''s beautiful! congratulations again :)

Sabine I''m so sorry you''re in pain with the rash! I hope it calms down/ goes away for you!

I''m loving everyone''s nursery plans!

Hi Fisher! Yes, a boy! I''m very excited. The babymoon was wonderful! No thread started for it though. But like I said before we went to St. Lucia, really like our resort. It was all inclusive so we didn''t have to worry about anything and I could lay on the beach and have them bring me virgin pina coladas all day! It rained a lot, but that didn''t bother us too much. We had a lot of fun snorkeling and hubby got to scuba dive, not me this trip though
7.gif
And Cliff first felt the baby move on our airplane trip over there! So that was really cool too. So, great babymoon! I definitely recommend it to anyone!
2.gif

NYC congrats to you and hubby! Can''t wait meet little Sofia! That''s awesome you had such a quick labor.
