Calling all the Pregnant PS''ers

Maybe my kiddie all squished up in one corner of my uterus explains why Claire looks so peaceful and cute all swaddled up - I guess they like to be squished? Love the hair!

Mkay, thanks QT. Really your doc doesn''t measure your belly? It''s interesting how all docs have their own things.

Pheonix she''s absolutely perfect! I love baby faux hawks

I can just tell she smells baby-good! mmm!

Enjoy mamma!

DrK, what an amazing photo! Love the feet, a yoga baby for sure.

Phoenix, Claire is amazing! Adore the hair!

Hi everyone! Sorry about the drive-by post - I''ve been out of town visiting family this week so I haven''t had a chance to catch up with everyone, but I wanted to let you know that I found out the gender this morning at a commercial ultrasound place -

it''s a boy!!! Add me to team blue!

So, my son will have a little brother. He''s excited, but my DH and all the grandparents are a little disappointed. There are only grandsons so far in our family, so I guess we''re not breaking the trend.

I am so excited though, because I always thought that I would have two boys. It would have been fun to play Barbies and buy dresses, but it will be really nice for my son to have a little brother to play with.

I''ll try to catch up with everyone else soon ...

claire is so precious, pg...she is adorable!! glad to hear that things are better on the milk front too.

drk i love that US... wow it''s so clear and look at those legs. she will be a tall one! love the positions that they can get themselves into. lately i feel like my little guy must be all squashed into some contorted position just based on how i feel the movements. i am like really can he be in the bottom left and top right at the SAME TIME? he''s that big?

vesper, yay for team blue!!

so we''re off to ikea today to get some stuff... the poang chair for the baby''s room, and a bookcase for our main living room so i can empty out the leaning shelf in the office to put that in the baby''s room. and i finally want to get some shelving for up above our laundry units so we''ll have extra storage. ikea visits are so painful in terms of the sinkhole in time they create, so i figure lets just get it all done at once so we don''t have to go back for another year.

hope everyone had a happy halloween. i made albondigas soup and we handed out candy, nice and mellow! oh and we watched the sweeney todd movie with johnny depp, i am sure my child is scarred from that for sure...HA.

Thanks everyone for offering their apologies for my false alarm!

Except, I can''t accept them because it totally wasn''t a false alarm!!!

Evan Alexander arrived at 7:37 a.m. on Halloween (EDD was November 12)! He weighed 6 lbs 11 oz (6 lbs 6 oz when we brought him home today!) and was a little over 19 inches long.

He''s the cutest thing ever and he''s a really great baby (not just saying that because he''s mine, I swear!)

I will post in a bit the entire birth story with pictures....want to get it all written out first and get the pictures uploaded by my husband.

CONGRATS TAO! Welcome Alexander, I can''t wait to see pics.
36.gif

Vesper - Congrats on team blue!

tao CONGRATS!!! i can''t wait to hear your story and see the little guy. hope you and evan are doing well.

vesper YAY for team blue!!! i have a 23 month old boy and am expecting another little boy in 2 months. and my toddler cannot wait to meet his little brother. i couldn''t be happier to be having another boy and watch my two boys grow up together and become the best of buddies. same thing with my family, all grandsons, but as long as baby is healthy, that''s all that really matters. Congrats!!

hope everyone is enjoying the rest of the weekend!

Tao, wow congrats on Evan Alexander. You sound great. I can''t wait to see some pics. Hope you are doing well.

Vesper- Yay for team blue. That''s awesome.

Congats Tao - it did sound like something was going on. Can''t wait to hear the full story!

Congrats tao! Welcome Evan! Can''t wait to hear your birth story and see pictures.

Love all the belly pics!

drk, very cute u/s pic!

phoenix, Claire is beautiful!

vesper, congrats on a boy! How exciting! I''m sure your son will love having a little brother!

congrats Tao!! Halloween baby!! and 2 weeks early...he was anxious to meet you.

can i just say that IKEA is a torture device on the weekends? i knew it would be busy but man. it took us like 2.5 hours to get out of there! of course i had to eat a $1 hot dog while there.

Congratulations Tao. Can''t wait for the birth story and pic.

YEY! Congrats Tao!!!

I LOVE halloween and think it would be a great day to have a birthday

Looking forward to the pic and birth story

YAY Tao! I knew someone would have a Halloween baby lol. Can''t wait to hear the birth story and see pictures!

I watched Knocked Up today, and while offensive, so much of it is true. My husband was like, "I am so glad you aren''t THAT hormonal." Oh, honey, just you wait lol.

I went to a party last night, too, and after training myself to go to bed at 8pm most nights, 3am was HARD! And everyone kept patting my belly and taking pictures of it (my husband drew a drunken jack-o-lantern on it, hehe). It was the first time I had anyone touching it - so strange lol.

I love that movie. Along with the offensive but funny "Doorman" scene, I love the one where he goes off at her "hormones" Classic.

LOL I always laugh so hard at him telling off her hormones, and then when she apologizes to the nurse for the fight, the nurse is like, "Oh, it happens all the time." And you have to wonder how often they really DO see that stuff!

Tao! Congrats! I just love Evan''s name, and cannot WAIT to see s pic! I wonder if he shares a birthday with Viz''s little one?

Viz, oh Viz! We miss you and hope you either went into labor on your own or your induction went well! Can''t wait for an update. Thinking of you...

shoot, we watched knocked up [the full version] and it scared the crap out of me! a saw a little more than i wanted to see!

phoenixgirl - claire is BEAUTIFUL!

and congrats tao!! can't wait to read your story + see little evan!

this weekend i went to destination maternity. asked to try on their smallest jeans. it was a complete no go. way too big all over. haha. i did pick up their brand of the bellaband. that way, i can wear my pants a little longer as long as the legs still fit. i may try to check out the gap's maternity section today. there is a store nearby that supposedly has a maternity section in the store.

jcrow ... i think i have given up on jeans for the remainder of my time. i just feel so much better in dresses and leggings hehee. my belly does not like to be constrained! thank god i have 2 pairs of those comfy old navy jersey lined pants to get me by as well.

we watched knocked up a few months ago, loved it...sooo hilarious. that doctors office scene was soo over the top! i was like serious?? i don''t know anyone who has ever gotten THAT crazy, but maybe it happens hahaa.

its so odd i feel like i am still fighting this minor cold thing, it''s extremely mild. no fever, just more tired towards end of the day, a bit of congestion and sometimes a little sore throat at nights. but also the dog has allergies right now so it could be allergies too. i am sleeping fine through the night, and taking my vitamins so we''ll see.

greg asked when i will need the ''boyfriend pillow'' because so many of my friends recommended it. i hope NOT to need it! i am still comfortable at night, i''m a side sleeper anyway but yesterday i was checking out the belly going, wow this is going to get bigger? a little freaky.
23.gif

viz..!! i also was thinking about you too on saturday....wondering if it was time or if it had happened already. hope to hear some positive news soon!

Jcrow--i don''t get maternity jeans! Just this morning i recieved a pair i ordered online. They were normally really expensive but only had a few sizes left so at 50% off i decided, what the heck. Ya well bad idea! the site said to order your pre-pregnancy size so i did and when i tried them on they were *massive* i was swimming everywhere in them. I am sure they are at least 4 sizes bigger than what i will probably need
38.gif
. I know my thighs will get a few inches bigger, they did the first pregnancy, but hopefully not enuf to snuggly fit those jeans!
Try the H&M maternity section. I got cute dark wash skinny jeans there last pregnancy that i lived in . They were perfect b/c it was winter and i could tuck them into high boots! Good luck, you are so petite i am sure it''s not easy.

hum, i don''t think there is an h&m near me. and i want to try them in person first before resorting to online pants buying. pre-pregnancy, i had problems finding jeans + pants. so boo to the same thing happening now that i''m pregnant. oh well. i''ll probably end up with dresses + tights during the winter.

Congrats Tao! I can''t wait to hear your birth story and see pictures of Evan.

Viz, we are all anxiously awaiting news. I hope you are holding your sweet baby right now.

Amber and Sunkist, once Viz has her baby we are up next! I think our due dates are within 3 days of each other, have either of you made any progress? I had my 38 week appointment today and still no dilation. Dr. said she expects to see me at my appt. next week. How are you guys feeling? I am just hoping that I will be home in time for Thanksgiving, which is exactly 1 week after my due date. I love Thanksgiving food and my mom and MIL have offered to cook and deliver a Thanksgiving meal to our house. I will confess that I bought a little "my first thanksgiving" outfit for Olivia. I hope I haven''t jinxed myself. I know my dr. will induce if I go past my due date, but I am really hoping to go naturally.

Jcrow - I got a pair of maternity jeans from Gap that I love. Around here, it is the Baby Gap that has a maternity section in the back, I think you can use the search function on their website to find stores that carry maternity. The nice thing about Gap is that the jeans come in regular sizes (2, 4, 6, etc) instead of S, M, L, so it''s easier to get a good fit. My hips have widened considerably, so I had to go up on size from pre-pregnancy, but they are great. Also, Gap has petite size maternity pants and jeans, which was great for me since i am only 5''2" and it saved me from having to get them hemmed.

phoenix: perfect little bundle! :)

jcrow: do you have "Motherhood maternity" near you? Reasonable clothes (and a jean section) which look good enough! I spent a lot of time in those jeans.

Tao congrats!!!! I can''t wait to hear the story (you''re just bucking all the rules: first gender u/s was wrong, first baby was two weeks early!) and see pics!

Sunkist/November : Can''t believe we''re so close! Sunkist: I''m so glad your baby''s room is coming along! Sadly, ours is still kind of at a standstill. My jackass SIL (i love her, but wait...) gave us her crib (her kids co-slept so it was never used) with the instructions that it had to be put together by her husband, which is ridiculous. SO she called yesterday to see if the weekend AFTER my due date was a good time to put it together. Seriously? SERIOUSLY?? At least we have a Pack N Play, and will hopefully get a bassinet soon, along with the glider I was bought as a gift (but has yet to be delivered/built). Right now we have her changing table all set up, her bookshelf all set up, her clothes washed and in her drawers. Everything else is in limbo, which KILLS me. She''s head down (I think, most of the time), no real internal yet, I should get that next Thursday. So far I feel no contractions, just pain when she pushes out from my belly. She does spend an awful lot of time scraping my bowels, which kill. I hope she''s not positioned for back labor, this pain is terrible. I''m hoping for after Thanksgiving for labor, we have so much left to do (knock on wood!!), and those extra days will help get more time off for Paul, since he''s a teacher and can only take sick days (of which he has 10, but will only use 5). The extra days get us closer to Christmas break when he can spend two weeks with us. Do you guys have your bags packed? Have you taken tours of the maternity ward? I''m a big NOPE for both of those. How did we get this CLOSE??

MP: I LOVE Knocked Up. I literally watched it every few days for my first few months. Now that I''m kind of getting past the time where she is, I''m more resentful. No stretch marks? What?? I''m a tiny gal, but my only stretch marks are on my belly. The flipping out part? Never hit me. I wanna see this drunken Pumpkin!!

Phoenix: Your little girl is SO CUTE. What a doll!!

DRK: GREAT u/s pic! We never ever got clear ones. Even the 4D!

Vesper: Congrats on team blue!

Viz: Hope all was well with you this weekend! Can''t wait to hear the update!

Jcrow: I''m only 5 feet tall, and I HATE jean shopping. Even the motherhood ones are goodish lengthwise (kiiind of) but still are super baggy in the butt and legs. Kind of a pain. I''m a member of the "NO Butt At All" club, and amazingly never GREW one during this pregnancy, so it SUUUUCKS.

Mara: I''m feeling a little crappy, too. I was hoping it wasn''t H1N1 Side effects, but I''m thinking it was allergies. My asthma is horrible, my eyes are watering and after sneezing literally ALL DAY on Saturday, my nose is super stuffed up and phlegmy. Everyone I know is having allergy issues, too, so I assume that''s what has me.

As for me: 37 weeks! I''m now full term. Although I''d like her to stay a bit longer in there for reasons specified above. People keep saying she''s dropped, but I feel nothing different than before? My hands are aching a bit, and the swelling is pretty much non-existent now. Glad about that! I did wake up at 2:30am (without the time change in effect) Saturday night from massively horrible acid reflux that tums AND pepcid did not help. I was crying from the inability to sleep. Total bummer. Then we were heading out on Sunday and made a quick stop that turned into a LONG stop. Our battery died. Well, better now than in the middle of the night, right?

petite jeans would rock! i''m 5'' and the last thing i want to do is hem maternity pants that i''ll only wear for a few months! i''m going to check the gap + old navy site to see if any of their stores near me carry maternity in the store.

Congratulations Tao!!! and PG- Claire is simply lovely!!

I''m sorry I don''t have much to add to the maternity wear convo. I should start soon though. I feel like I am right on the verge of popping out. My work pants are starting to get very uncomfortable and feel pretty tight around my belly.

My current problem. I couldn''t go to lunch until almost 2 today and my body seriously started punishing me for it about 1. By the time I did leave, I felt so sick I had to run into the batroom on the way out. Then all that sounded appetizing (hardly...) was vegetable and chicken broth soup. It took me almost 30 minutes to finish.

Did anyone else experience this? Is it because of missing regular lunch time, or is it just a later version of morning sickness? I hate it.
