OK, now I don''t think I''m tiny any more, I think Steph is tiny! And I don''t think Mara was any bigger than me at 22 weeks if I remember that photo correctly - I seem to remember thinking "wow, she''s got great abs and there''s barely a bump!".
Some idiot above or below us was hammering at 12:30-1am last night. Woke me up from what was a nice stretch of sleep. Grr.

nice try miss drk but your bump is WAY smaller than mine at 22!! plus its grown a LOT...that was my growth spurt week i think.
anchor, you are still thin... the bump is commanding but you look great!
steph, your 28 week bump is TINY, mine is like double! it feels ginormous too. though given that he is like a chinese cabbage size this coming week, i am like jeez shouldn't the bump be bigger? HA.

mere you are still very tiny.. where do you guys put it?? but enjoy it because before you know it your body will have other ideas hehe.
i am happy for the most part though with how my body is expanding. it's mostly belly and some butt and hips. the butt and hips is usual for me, if i gain any weight it goes there immediately thanks to my latin genes. of course it's hard to get off! but legs, arms in general are the same. which i'd prefer since thats how i am used to gaining weight. and the belly is big but i still can see my muscles along the sides. SO it gives me hope that afterwards i can try to whip the body back into shape with some medieval torture methods.
i took some iphone belly photos yest so i will see if i can send them and upload one before forgetting this morning. it is def a lot bigger than at week 22! it is crazy i was looking at baby center's updates for the next few weeks to see what the baby will look like. at 31 and 32 weeks they look pretty much ready to come out, i guess they just keep getting bigger/fatter and lungs mature at that point. but crazy to think in like 3 weeks the kid will be totally fully formed in there! who am i kidding it's kinda crazy now i am 28 weeks. haha.

Thanks, girls. I have no idea why my tummy isn't getting bigger, but my hips, butt, arms, and face are making up the difference
. I just visited family that haven't seen me in months and my mom said "you kind of look pregnant" and my MIL said "are you sure the baby's okay? Are you eating?" I have gained 23 pounds in 28 weeks, so I think I am pretty average, the weight just keeps getting distributed all over the place...it would be nice to actually look pregnant when you are 7 months!

Here is my contribution to BPF - 38 weeks 1 day. Hopefully this is my last or second to last contribution. I am up almost 40 lbs from my pre-pregnancy weight, which is a lot when you are only 5''1"! I am a pretty regular gym-goer when not pregnant, but I felt so awful in the 1st tri that I never made it and I never got back in the habit so I am sure that has added to the weight gain. All of you look so tiny and great, I love the bumps.

So the area above my belly button is numb. She usually hangs out in a weird position so her butt is either on the right or the left of the belly button. Is this normal, the "dead zone" on my belly?

Hey MonkeyPie! First of all, I think you look great. That''s so funny that your coworker busted you taking a belly shot!
I think it sometimes depends where you start off, how much you gain. In my first pregnancy, I started off at 150 (a healthy weight for my height - 5''9") and gained 35 pounds (my dr. told me to gain 25-35). I gained slowly in the beginning, but by the time I was 20 weeks, I had gained about 15 pounds.
This time, I started off at 165 because the fertility drugs I was taking made me gain about 15 pounds in 6 months before I got pregnant. At 165, I was borderline between normal and overweight for my height. So, I decided that I only want to gain about 20-25 pounds this pregnancy. I have found that even though I looked pregnant a lot sooner this time, I have gained weight much more slowly - I have only gained 5 pounds so far, and I am 17 weeks along. It''s like the extra 15 pounds from the fertility drugs have redistributed into my stomach and boobs for the pregnancy.
It sounds like you must be eating very healthy, as well. One of my good friends only gained 9 pounds during her pregnancy, because she was about 40 pounds overweight when she became pregnant (her baby weighed 7 pounds). She ate a lot of fruits, veggies, lean protein and whole grains, so she said that the extra weight that she carried before she became pregnant became the fat stores that she needed for a healthy pregnancy and to prepare her body for nursing. She is the only person that I have ever heard of who gained that little weight, but I think that if you''re carrying a few extra pounds, it''s normal to gain only around 15-25 pounds when you''re pregnant.
Conversely, women who are underweight generally gain much more during their pregnancies. Celebrities (who are generally underweight according to BMI) like Kate Hudson, Elizabeth Hurley and Jenny McCarthy I believe all gained over 60 pounds in their pregnancies - that''s probably because they were underweight to begin with, so their bodies really needed to put on a lot of extra fat to grow a healthy baby and prepare the body for nursing.
So, it sounds like you''re doing really well, and I think you look great!

I am hoping to gain as little as possible, but my eating habits haven''t changed TOO much. I still have the occasional soda or french fries, but I mostly want veggies all the time. I haven''t been able to get enough exercise for my liking though, because if I walk too much, I get sick. I wish I had a treadmill, that would be awesome.
Amber, I read somewhere that the "dead zones" are not terribly uncommon, especially at the end, and if the baby tends to hang out in the same spot. I imagine it''s a lot like your arm falling asleep if you lay on it too long.

here is mine, i actually just re-took it this morning as the other ones did not come out good, too blurry. as you gals can see, belly has grown! my hips grew almost immediately once i was preggo about 2 inches, so sad. and my boobs are about 2 sizes bigger. i figure they must be at least 5 lbs extra!
my dr told me something similar re: weight gain, she said if you are overweight to start they don't want you to gain much. but if you are underweight, they want you to gain more. i was pretty much normal weight i guess when i started. i am hoping to max out at 35 by the end... just less to get off later! for me i can't eat as much as i used to so i think that is also why my gain has slowed a lot. i am eating kind of what i want and trying to make most of it healthy, but i have a pumpkin latte every morning with whipped cream! and last nite i had soup but 2pieces of pumpkin pie!

oh and random note but i read in the 28 weeks update that restless leg syndrome is not uncommon towards the 2nd half of pregnancy...i have never really had it before so it drives me crazy! it is always at night when i am getting relaxed and ready for bed.
eta: since we talk about clothes...this is a gap maternity sweater in small. it is JUST now fitting my bump! before it was so big and looked all wrinkly, not cute.

In fact, I think everyone is looking great. It's so fun to have all the belly photos from different people to compare myself to as I get farther along. I'll try to post regular ones starting next week, since there won't have been much of a change from the one I posted 3 days ago. We've been taking one most weeks, but most of the time I've just been thinking blah, I just look thick. Not obviously pg.
Weighted myself this morning before my shower - finally I'm up 4.5kg (9.9lb)! I'd been hoping for more, since I was only 138lb before pg. Despite all the fertility drugs, which for ome reason never made me gain weight. I was really bloated the first couple months, then that went away and I felt normal for a month or so, and now I'm just getting larger. I don't think there's anything more than maybe once size up in the boobs, and more around the middle. I've never had an a$$ to start with (think flat butt in jeans), and I don't think I've gotten one yet. But my teen-growth-spurt stretch marks on my hips are starting to get a little more noticeable. Oh well. I may never want to wear a binkini again after this anyhow.
