And if you've kept the same one for ages, do you plan to keep it for your life here on PS? Or just lazy to change it? Or perhaps you will change it but haven't found something you like as much yet?

I've had only 3 or 4 total here I think...but this one I've had for at least...3-4 years? it's changed a little, santa headbanger, heels headbanger and preggo headbanger. I actually don't love this avatar, but it's stuck and people seem to definitely identify me by my avatar. But at some point, I'll probably change it.....

I used to change mine a lot but I've had this one for a few years now, 99% out of laziness and also now I don't even know what I would want to change it to. I have enough other areas in my life where I can change my picture often I guess!

I changed once; it used to be my dog. I don't plan to change my current one. I like it, and also I like when other posters don't change theirs, it keeps things simple and recognisable for me.

I was surprised you changed it. But have to say...didn't think you could change it to anything more beautiful than the one you had...but you managed!

I can't change my avatar because then I wouldn't recognize myself in threads, and would probably end up quoting my own posts and responding to them.

ETA: I forgot to answer your other questions--I don't think I've ever had another avatar other than the Christmas version of this one. I may have had something else when I first joined, but I really don't recall.

I am too ADD to keep mine the same. LOL, in the 5+ years here I have probably had like 87 different ones. But it is true and funny how I recall people by their avatar. I think the ones that stick out the most to me would have to be Kaleigh and Maras old ones- The ring and the one of the cartoon image of Mara. LOL, I can't remember where my keys are but I remember what y'alls old avatars are.

I have changed mine once so far. The first was Lissey as a kitten looking at a pink squeaky mouse toy but as she is 3 now I changed it to her looking at a tiff box, which is also a nod to the fact that this site is about jewellery rather than cats .

If you remember she almost died last year and I feel that my avatar has become a talisman of sorts. I might change the picture, but it will always be of this special kitty.

I am tempted to put a Santa hat on her when she is asleep so I can have a Christmas avatar; I will see how she cooperates.

I haven't found a picture I love as much, although I do love the baby feet picture I took recently with my 2 baby rings. I don't know if other PSers associate this picture with me but I'm used to it since I've had it for so long...

I chose a flag flying in a beautiful blue sky for July 4; it offended.

I chose a Madonna and Child (a famous painting, btw) for Christmas; it offended.

I've been told I choose avatars deliberately to p*ss people off. Well, up until then, it really hadn't crossed my mind. But you know. . . . it's time for me to search out a new Christmas avatar.

And yet, I've created a smoking santa for Deco and a dog mauling the grinch for jas...and no one's said anything about those? I think? I also made one for Alj one year with her chainsaw about to slice through a very distraught xmas tree. Hm.

Except for changing my kitty photo to include one of a christmas hat, I don't plan to change it again. I've had it for a few years now and it's become about as much of my identity as my user name is. Also, if I did change it, it would be to another cat photo and that would confuse everyone amist the millions of kitty avatars.

Oh, and the one in my avatar passed away a while back. Little guy. He was a great kitty.

ETA - now that this has been brought up, maybe I will change mine. I think I'll change it to my new cat. hahaha hmmm...if you see a new black cat avatar in any threads, it'll be of my newest kitty.

But I don't think it's unique enough that it makes people think "Circe!" immediately: there are a few other posters who have fluor shots for avatars too, after all. On the plus side, it does indicate my interests right off the bat ....

I've had four avatars so far I think in the almost 4 years I've been here: one of my cats, a great pic of my engagement ring that Allison/Alj took once, a snowman (for Christmas and the winter), and my current one, orange tulips. I love the brightness of the orange and tulips are my favorite flowers. I'm not sure if I'll change my AV again. I don't like how fuzzy this one is but I think that's just the formatting or something like that. Not sure.

Just havent' found anything else to associate myself with. Hubby, friends and family all knows how much I love bamboo It is VERY much me IRL. I think of my avatar as the kind of person I am. Simple, robust, unique, bold in some areas, tranquil, peaceful...etc. so I keep it the same. Plus I haven't really looked into HOW to change it on the new PS

It wasn't REALLY about my avatars. The Offended One just didn't like me. It was one of those nonsensical accusations made 'just because' . Then, of course, you always have the 'chimer-ins' who must agree that they too have noticed this about the Accused. And drama ensues.

So, this year I'll be much more deliberate in my choosing of a holiday avatar. Just because.

I think when I first joined it was the stock ladybug one but it's been my cat for years. I'm too lazy to change it often.

Ah ha! I finally figured out how to change it. I don't think anyone could tell what my thumbelina one was but it was a lovely illustration I remembered from my fave childhood story book. It was also squished. This one is my phoenix rooster. I remember the ones best that are not jewelry and I hate when people change theirs as I really recognize posts by them.
