Calling long time avatar holders:

My avatar looks like me - so - I'm keeping it.

Madam - I love your avatar.

I had my purple poppy on black background avatar for years but it went MIA on some random server. And I hadn't saved the black background one handy so I had to re-avatar a few months ago. And yeah, it was ridiculous how I kept not realizing I was reading my own posts after I changed it . So although I don't love the pixilation of my current av, I probably won't change it because I will probably quote myself a la Haven if I change it again.

When I had to change the avatar, I tried to make one with my actual ring. But it just seemed not so... me. So it's a bit of my back tattoo, and it will stay that unless it too goes MIA.

And yeah, I changed my name awhile ago. I'm way too google-able anyway, so I wanted just LGK.

Sorry I've been gone a while (and that's another story).

I have my original Avatar (and Haven - You started with a different one too as I remember when you changed it).

Why would I change it?

Of course, for those who remember PS-1 you may wonder why I never changed it up front. The answer is that to me I would have to chose an avatar that would have special meaning to me and about me. I just never saw anything that really spoke to me on that level.

Besides, who I am is not dependent on some avatar...

Concerning my future plans: I tend to recognize people by their Avatars - and when people change it can be confusing to me.

Finally, the neat thing is that with PS-2 my avatar will probably be unique.

My old avatar is gone (and so was I for a couple months - took an extended break these first few VERY busy months of grad school!!)

I definitely miss my old avatar but I'm not even sure where it went or how to get it back, so I'll have to upload a new one. It's so funny how a little picture can really feel like it's part of your identity, but I definitely felt that way and it's going to be so weird to have a new one!

Change my avatar? I wouldn't think of it!

BTW, notice the little duck at the bottom left? Some people think that's a frog, but I don't know why?

I change mine b/c I *think* people like to see my DD grow and I no longer feel comfortable posting full size photos. I could be wrong though :cheeky: I am thinking of changing it back to my wedding set though b/c most people have never seen it since I have had something related to DD (starting with my u/s photo) for the past 3.5 years.

I actually miss T's little face! Your wedding set is gorgeous too, just not as mischievous.

Dreamer, I'm senile AND opinionated. It's a beautiful pic for sure...but it's too...BLAND to be your avatar. Plus it's like so many avatars with rings. You need character! Throw a bone or something in it!

Should I make it move and band itself against a wall or something ;))

LOL. But, if I may, T-gal is right, there's something missing with your new AV, and personality is it. I don't know the solution. But your new AV just... blends.

Akkkk the peer pressure.... must...change... avatar.... nooooooooooooooooooooo!

Ah. Relief. Personality and festive.

I tried, but just couldn't get used to it... :cheeky: So I'm back now. I'll probably still post less because of the hectic schedule, but I've really missed PS so I'm going to try to keep up more!!

I'm not going to change mine. It's kind of tongue in cheek but it suits me.

Perry - I took the liberty.... in case you're interested lol

Initially I capitalized it but you don't have it capitalized as your username and I liked the way the lower case p and y looked together lol

I will be in no way offended if you don't want it though, but I had to do it lol

Oooh that one is ugly - let me try it at a lower compression

I can see my DH thinking that that is his photo. I'm sure other people have thought so and wondered, "What's he king of?" :wink2:

I've had my dogs since I changed it from the generic smiley face.
Ill give them their antlers soon if I can find it.
I don't plan on changing it anytime soon, I can't think of what id put up.

Cehrabehra.... I've got to hand it to you... Neat. Doesn't mean I'll change it - but it does give me something to think about.

Also, FYI - the lower case p in the user name was intentional; but I do sign with a capital P.

By the way, I also like the description: Custom Generic.... I think that fits me from one viewpoint. A lot of people just see another "guy" - but they miss how "Custom" I am - and then never get to see the real me.

Have a great day,

Perry

There are some avatars that I am completely in love with. Seeing them is like seeing old friends. I mostly lurk now, but I can always do a quick scan and read up on old friends!

For some reason I can't change mine. I though it was my work computer at the time, but it seems to be my account. I do really like it, however there is a real cute goth Hello Kitty I wanted to change it to. Maybe some day.

nytemist - if you changed yours I might still know who you are, but you really are that avatar to me now... the image and the word go together - but allycat, if you ever changed yours I'd be bummed because I'd probably not recognize you with so many cats and potential allys around lol

This thread reminded me that I have wanted to change mine for quite some time, it was a picture of my niece making a mad/pouty face when she was ~16-18 months old. She's almost 3 now and looks so much different. I don't want to keep posting pics of her as my avatar because she isn't my child and I don't think my brother and SIL would be on board with me posting pictures of her continuously. So, I changed it to a picture of MY kid, my 4 year old beagle, Daisy. She will probably stick around for awhile!

I do know people here by their avatars, but when things change it's kind of fun to re-learn. Keeps the old brain sharp, no? I may be speaking for myself...as it doesn't take much to sharpen this gal's brain which was a little dull to begin with. Hee hee.

I can't change my avatar because then I wouldn't recognize myself in threads, and would probably end up quoting my own posts and responding to them.

ETA: I forgot to answer your other questions--I don't think I've ever had another avatar other than the Christmas version of this one. I may have had something else when I first joined, but I really don't recall.

The thought of you responding to yourself makes me LOL.

It made me LOL too and then I thought, "Yup! I would totally do that too!"

I think I've had this one for the better part of this year. I've always used my e-ring (except before I had one) but I love the colorful stones from the DanielM pendants in my avatar. I think I'll leave it for a while.
