Awwww....I just missed this GTG by a mere five days! I''m flying down there on the 20th to visit my sister, who recently graduated from UCSD and flying back on the 24th. Have fun girls, and maybe I''ll be able to meet all of you next time, since I''m planning visit my sis quite often.

This post scared me for a minute--I thought maybe I MISSED the GTG!!! That would be BAD considering I''m the one making the reservations!

I just got a new job that has me running around like a chicken with its head cut off. I have a suitcase packed in case I need to fly internationally with an hour''s notice; it''s a little crazy. But, I could not be happier with my new job or my new boss.

Sorry about the tangent; I just wanted you all to know that I am still around just haven''t had time to post. I am very much looking forward to meeting everyone though and hope those of you who can''t make this one will come to the next one!

I know.. I know.. But I need to have it reset before the wedding. I gave my jeweler my time frame and told him I was meeting with you all. LOL. I am going to hate coming neke.. but.. keep fingers crossed, I hope he can get my ring done pretty quickly. I wont be able to give it to him for next weekend since its my bridal shower, so I am hoping I can drop it off to him the 25th and have it back before the 29th.

How''s about we all show up and pressure your jeweler? Would that work?

Too bad! We should have a GTG in San Clemente, the half-way point between OC and San Diego. There are some yummy restaurants there and some great mom and pop B&M jewelry shops!

I am an attorney. I am a tax specialist, but I also do standard corporate and partnership work, as well as some estate planning. I actually love doing M&A work, despite the crazy hours. I was brought in on my first big deal 4 years ago to handle the tax issues, but ended up getting involved in other aspects of the deal. Now I make an effort to "get on the team" whenever a good deal comes through the firm.

In fact, as you know in SD we all know someone in common. I''m sure you probably work with people I went to school with or vice versa

I have a problem with my new ring. I just posted about this on my other thread, but my ring arrived damaged. As I started to pull the ring out of the velvet box, I noticed a sapphire was missing. As I pulled in out to get a better look, another stone fell out. Also, I looked inside the ring (with and without my loupe) and the Tiffany & Co. hallmark is missing. The area where they showed the signature in the pics posted at Signed Pieces was blank, so I don''t know if someone polished it aggressively, or what happend.

I am so depressed. I have been looking forward to getting this ring all week. I was so excited when I opened the Fed Ex box and saw the original Tiffany''s box, pouch and bag had been included, since that was not mentioned in the ring description. Then I opened the velvet box and saw that gap in the ring.

How horrible that must have been! What in the heck happened, I wonder? I''ve only heard good things about signed pieces until now. This is just terrible! Do they have another one?
