I'm halo-ing a cushion in the 2 ct range and would like to see some I colored stones. I want to make sure an I colored center stone will look "white" enough once set.

Thanks!

It's best if you can see them in person to determine whether the colour is "too much". Having seen plenty of them in pictures, they all look plenty white/clear in photos. (Heck, even the 2 carat J's and K's online look white/clear to me - except for maybe in one or two pictures out of a whole series of photos).

However, after ordering and seeing a few GIA graded, 2 carat I's (radiants and cushions), it sits right on the other side of "too much" for me personally. An H is totally fine. With an I color though, I can see the tinge - though faint - the point is I can see it and I can tell it would bug me.

Your personal line might be between J's and K's, or it might be between F's and G's. You need to hold the diamonds in your hand, move them into different lights, put them in temp settings and see how you feel about them. Trust your gut. I had a 2 carat I colour (radiant) that I loved, but I just couldn't get over the colour. I could see it and I know I'd keep looking for it.

(For me personally, I would lower clarity over color ANY DAY. It takes more time to find a suitable clarity candidate with a great cut and color - but color I can see immediately - along with anyone who puts their higher color ring next to mine. For the most part, you need a loupe to see any clarity issues. Don't let the blown up pictures scare you. I ended up with a colorless E, Si2 cushion. BF and I knew where the main inclusion was (under a prong) and it took us a few days to even figure out which prong it was under).

Most definitely.. thank you.
