Can I have your honest opinions on the cut of this C&C moissanite?

Hi everyone,

I'm new to Pricescope (I heard of you guys on reddit) so I'm sorry in advance if I make any errors with this post.

I'm coming to you guys because I need expert advice. My fiance ordered this moissanite ring from an independent jeweller on Etsy with a Charles and Colvard Forever One moissanite as the centre stone. Upon receiving it, we're surprised to see that the quality of stone isn't what we expected. Does this look a little hazy or unclear to you guys? This is what it looks like freshly cleaned with dishsoap and water. This photo was taken near a window on a sunny day, so hopefully a fair lighting setting to judge the clarity.

I called C&C yesterday about this and they're going to send me a sunshine cleaning cloth to see if that fixes the issue... but if I want to send it in to see if it's eligible for a replacement, since I'm in Canada, we'll need to pay for all the shipping charges.

So before we spend loads of money to ship this stone around, I was hoping to get some secondary opinions from people who are experts in moissanite - does this cut look off to you guys? Does this stone look sub-par?

Please let me know if you want to see other pictures or lighting conditions, and seriously, thank you in advance for your help.

C&C Forever moissanites have fallen out of favor with Pricescope because of the quality. If you look at the Tianyu thread you can see the quality of these other moissanites.

IMO the cut in almost all moissanites is simply dismal.

there is a AGS 0 cut stone you can get from Moissaniteco.com if you special order it from the site.
I also believe that there is an august vintage cut that looks good from another website ( I cant remember the name off the top of my head but he had some great stones )

I wouldnt recommend spending money on the - what I call - splinter cut stones. they are meant to flash the light but when I looked at them on their site they look way off. They are not at all cut like an ideal cut diamond.

It's hard to tell anything from the photo....Do you have an option to return or just exchange? From what I've heard c&c is hit and miss. I have one and I like it but it was just luck to get a nice one.

If you exchange it there's no guarantee you'll get one of the well cut ones unless you can work with someone to handpick a stone for you.

Is yours an H&A cut or the normal cut? Here's a video comparing the two:

I hope they resolve this to your satisfaction!
