Can you help me figure out this setting - bezels vs. prong?

Attached is twosanguinehearts old Singlestone ring and I can’t quite figure out if this has a bezel? (Hope she doesn’t mind me posting it and maybe she will see this!) I know it has prongs on the main stone, but is there something in between the diamond and the melee? I really like it and am considering this style for a MRB right hand ring, but with a simplier shank.

So maybe I don’t understand what a bezel is…in the second picture, I thought it has a bezel, but I also see prongs? Is it really a bezel then? I have seen a true bezel, meaning no prongs, so what is the metal between the stone and melee?

Sorry if these are silly questions…I thought I understood all of this, but now it is clear I don’t!

Also, on this kind of setting, can anyone explain the benefits/cons of CAD vs. Handforged? I am thinking of having ERD do a similar setting for me.

Yes, both are prong set. I think the thin lip of metal you are seeing is part of the halo structure that holds the melee diamonds.

Thank you Chrono and Gypsy! Are you supposed to see the metal ( between the center stone and melee)? In the first one I don't see it but it just might not be showing up in the picture? Or is that "optional"? I think most have it that I have seen but the SS one struck me as different.

These pictures are taken at extreme magnification and angle. You will not see it face up in both rings.

Is that how the tiffany legacy is designed also? Just trying to figure it out because I have seen that one in person. Thank you again!
